Five on Friday #75

EINS

Not to toot my own horn, but as a member of the Yelp Elite, I get invited to special Yelp parties each month or so.  This month's was at the Striped Pig Distillery and catering was provided by Graze AND everyone got a prize.  Teh German was my +1 and we skipped crossfit to go get our party on in our tacky sweaters.

It was pretty great.  We got a selfie stick and a set of headphones as our gifts.  I definitely opened the selfie stick and got some photos with it, because I'm completely and utterly ridiculous and that thing will definitely be regifted.

The party also included a fire (maybe actual candles + an event with tissue paper + alcohol weren't the best idea?) and a serious party foul when a bottle of Striped Pig gin fell overboard and shattered on the floor.  Fortunately the fire was easily put out and the bottle was easily replaced since we were at the distillery.

Selfies.  Shhh, I know you can see the tags.  Just pretend like I edited that out.

He was not pleased about a selfie stick.

First time ever using a selfie stick... was difficult.

These dudes got in on my selfie.  Whatevs.
From the Charleston Yelp FB page (linked above).

Teh German in the chair that he wants for the front porch.

Teh German did say he was interested in attending more Yelp parties, so that was definitely a plus.

ZWEI

I spent an embarrassing amount of time organizing my FB photos yesterday.  Moving photos from the Timeline and Mobile Uploads albums to their appropriate folders.  What I didn't realize until too late was that if the photos were associated with a status update, the status is now photoless.  Way to go, Obama Facebook.

No photo associated with this so further drive the point home....

YYYYYYAAAAAAAA'LLLLLLLLLLLLLLL:

NO JK that is a for real selfie (that I did NOT take with the selfie stick).  Teh Humanitarian sent me this for Christmas because I think it's no secret that I love Hello and may or may not have listened to it on repeat for several weeks days after it was released.  Unfortunately, Adele doesn't love Spotify, so I've been unable to hear the rest of the album... UNTIL NOW.

You better believe I sat down and listened to it AH-MEDIATELY.  I connected the sound bar in the living room to my computer and had a personal session with Adele in the living room.  #YouShouldBeJealous

What this really means is that I'm practicing for my sing-along with Allison.

I'm not sure who's good idea was the wind tunnel and fur coat, but I still find it a bit odd.

I feel like it's 2001 when I say it, but this CD has been ripped to my computer(s) and will be on repeat all day.  Allison said some of the songs would grow on me, but after listening through it 2/3 times (just yesterday), I'm sad to say that I think Hello is the best song on the album, which is disappointing, because I like hidden gems on the album that you wouldn't hear if you didn't get the album.  Not necessarily hidden tracks, which are nice, but something you can talk to your friends about..  "Oh did you hear track 8 on their new album?  It's awesome."  "No, I've only heard what's on the radio."  "Boo, you need to pick up this album and check it out.  There are so many awesome songs on it!"

VIER

We're going to NC next week to celebrate Christmas with my family and it's exciting.  There won't be any of the drama that I dealt with last year from Fucktard (I'd say I'm still in the anger stage of that relationship, even though I really try to fight being an asshole, but really he was such a dick for so long, I have every right to be mad), so I'm especially excited to get to spend it with someone that makes me so happy.

I've already talked to "Santa" about what to get for Teh German.  Teh WJL has said she's going to see me and I told her I'd bring the Jesus CAH cards so she could play CAH with us and not feel like a horrible person with everyone else.  Also, we need to pick up some adult beverages.  I haven't decided if I'm going to cramp up the dog's space with Teh German's present so he can open it on Christmas or if he gets to open it before we leave.  I mean, it's a pretty epic CUP present, so I'm tempted to just cramp the dogs, because I know if he opens it before we leave he will want to play use with it his cup.  We'll see what happens.  #firstworldproblem for sure though.

10 things that made me happy this week:
  1. Trying to take a family photo with the dogs in front of the Christmas tree (we were unsuccessful).
  2. The disaster that is my MOH dress is almost fixed.  Hopefully I'll get it back by this weekend.
  3. Kisses from Teh German after a kisses-pause because Herpaderp (ugh again) and my sickness.
  4. Cinnamon rolls at work (because someone else was having a craving).
  5. Third Eye Blind's new album was listed under my New Releases Discovery this week.  #WIN
  6. THE ENTIRE ADELE ALBUM IN MY EARDRUMS!
  7. Nike sweatshirts for signing up for the 5K we're doing tomorrow, instead of a cheap sweatshirt or t-shirt.  It's super soft and for ONCE, might be better than a medal....  too bad it's summer outside in December (this must be what it's like to live in Australia) so it's too hot to wear them.
  8. My MOH dress finally being done with the mabillionty operations it had to undergo.
  9. Our real estate agent getting shit fixed so the mortgage company can get their shit fixed so I can sign loan paperwork sooner rather than later.
  10. Crazy eyes and duck lips and making Teh German giggle.

Photos with the dogs:

These assholes did NOT like Santa

The orange and regular cinnamon rolls.

I was gonna make you wait to see the final product after the wedding,
but this has been a difficult process and I'm relieved it's over.

Happy Friday, Gentle Readers.
Linking up with these ladies since it's FFFFRRRRRRIIIIIIDDDDAAAAYYYY!!!!!!!!!

  1. That party sounds like so much fun! I'm glad your dress is finally done & you have one less thing to worry about! It looks great!

  2. The second last Yelp Party pic is the bomb.com lady. We both make the same cheesy ass/scary face and I'm loving it. I kinda figured the Christmas dog photos would be amiss. And to think Teh German thought the beach would work out? Uhhhh, no. We're the children scared of Santa? Charlie doesn't mind Santa but Baxter gives him the side eye/stink eye and he doesn't approve. Lol

Love the color of that dress but man, how unflattering on you and please don't say I'm the first one saying that or I'm going to feel like a huge dick over here. That's the same color the bridesmaid dresses were for a wedding I was in 2014. The dress looks tailored more to you than I'm sure how it came... Please say yes, please say yes. I'm not an asshole, I promise. *insert cheese face :-D ).

Have a great weekend and good luck tomorrow ;)

  4. LOVE all your attempts at a family photo! Even if you didn't get what you were striving for, I hope you had a lot of laughs in the process. Happy Holidays to you!

  5. I love all the pictures of you all and the attempts to wrangle the dogs as well.

I love the color of the dress. I can't wait to see the final product!

I never knew that Yelp had parties or things like that...but then again I never seem to use Yelp because we pretty much are fast food people...

Yay for upcoming Christmas festivities that are WAY better than last year!
