Confessions {8/3}

-After 1 1/2 years of the hallways in our office building smelling like someone took a dump in the middle of the hallways, they finally installed an air freshener and while it is overpowering and not my favorite scent, it's better than the smell of sewage.

-I watched videos on growing Carolina Reapers.  That's how you know it's serious business around here.  Also, growing plants inside is way better than outside.  Any work I can do in the AC is preferable to satan's lair (outside).

-Staying in my pjs all day on Sunday was one of the top 25 choices I made in July.

-After calculating the miles on my shoes last Friday, I really wanted to do a night run like I used to do when I lived in Shitty House.  Those night runs were some of the most empowering runs for me.  I was all alone, being crazy, and doing whatever, whenever I pleased.  Often, those were my best runs.  I wanted to feel those feelings again.

-The last .2 miles to my house on Saturday night, after hearing RunKeeper tell me I'd just run 10 miles, I almost cried.  Everything hurt and I'd been afraid of critters since some of the area where I run isn't populated, but I DID IT (again).  I've ran 10 miles before.  But it's been a while and I set out at 11pm on a Saturday night to get miles in.  There was empowerment in it, but more importantly, I'm ready for Disneyland.

-I haven't talked about it nearly as much as I did the Princess runs, but I'm finally starting to get excited about the Dumbo Dare that I'm running with Teh MD-AR and Teh German.  It will be different because Teh German will be with us, but fun nonetheless.

-I AM DEFINITELY excited about Disneyland.  I've never been to Disneyland and I just want to do all the things!  I've been researching character meals and dining plans and fast passes and costume ideas for the runs.  Have you been to Disneyland?  Tell me your secrets.  I want to know the best rides to ride and the best places to eat.  I am strongly considering the World of Color Dessert Party, despite the price, because dessert and fireworks.  #priorities

-I use frozen corn as ice packs.  I use these at work.  I use ice packs with my space heater on.  #paradox #noshame

-Yesterday was our 1 year anniversary (WOOO for not running this one off with my crazy!).  Teh German had flowers delivered to me at work and I knew I needed to step up my game.  We had talked about it within the previous days and he had said it was just our anniversary, not Christmas or anything.  But he still agreed when I said, I think we're a bigger deal than Christmas.

Later when I commented that we like to downplay our excitement and that's silly, he also agreed.  I had looked last week for reservations to any of the fancy restaurants downtown but everywhere was booked for normal dinner times.  Obviously, my Mickey earrings were making the magic happen because when I checked again Tuesday morning, the one place I had really wanted to go had an available reservation for 6pm that night.  I took that sucker with a quickness and asked Teh German to be home by 5:15 so we could get downtown for dinner.  See, Megan has surprises too.  #IGotTricks #itwasfate

-If an audiobook is less than 10 hours, I refuse to use a credit on it.  #standards #moneysworth

-I think that not-sighthound dogs look funny.  Maybe it's all that time I spend looking at sighthounds, but those skinny noses and sleek bodies bring me so much joy.  #breedsnob

-BOOM BITCHES:

-Thanks, but no thanks RunKeeper.  You offered me 50% off for completing at 25 minute activity last week and this is all you offer me for THREE years?  Kthxnope.

-I have high hopes of getting a photo similar to this but with EIGHT medals each and INSIDE Disneyland.  My excitement about the photo I want to get exceeds my excitement about going to Disneyland for the first time ever.

  3. Happy 1 Year Anniversary! Good for you for having some surprises of your own! Have fun at Disneyland. I've never been there either, only to Disney World. I've often thought it would be interesting to see the original. Have a good one!

  5. I lived in So Cal for a year, and my office was in Anaheim. I went to Disneyland several times. I actually enjoyed the California Adventure park more because the rides were more exciting (in my opinion).
    Happy anniversary!

    1. Planning is the best and worst part of any Disney trip.
PJs are the best. It's too bad they aren't acceptable at work. It's also too bad naps aren't acceptable at work.
