Things You Weren't Wondering

I stole this from Brianne.

What would a mirror opposite of yourself be like?

Tall, quiet, super serious about everything..
Essentially, I'd be the me 25 year old Megan thought I was going to be at this age.
So glad that didn't pan out.

Which of your scars has the best story behind it?

The one on my forehead just inside my hairline... from where our Brazilian exchange student that we hosted when I was in the 6th grade hit me in the head with a rake while he was doing Judo moves because he thought I wouldn't step up and I was fearless, so I did.

It hurt, so I put my hand to my head and ran away.  At which point Doug started chasing me up the yard and I screamed at him to quit chasing me and he was yelling at me to stop.  Almost as I got back to the house, I saw a parent (I think Teh Mom) standing at the corner of the house, having just ran outside because she could hear the commotion.  At this point, Doug caught up to me, pulled my hand away from my face and showed me that I was bleeding.. profusely.  At which point, the parent, which it had definitely been Teh Mom, went into emergency mode and was like, TO THE ER YOU GO!  While Teh Dad was like, she'll be fine.  (My parents have always been complete opposites about what warrants a doctor visit).  Teh Mom was insistent because she knew I'd end up with a huge scar if I didn't have it stitched up.

Teh Dad ended up taking me to the emergency room and I got to get 2 stitches in my head with a fish hook (ok, that's not really what it's called, but that's what it looked like) and I got booties for my shoes (which I thought were super cool) and a large bowl to "flush" the wound with (which we kept for years and years because it was a great bowl for soaking laundry) and I got my first wheelchair ride because they wouldn't let me walk to the car.

Teh Dad did win the argument about going back to the doctor to have the stitches taken out.  He ended up cutting them out himself.

The worst part about the whole thing was that they had to cut the hair near the area and it was short for so long and would always get in my eyes/face.  Ugh.  But now I have a super cool scar.  It's almost like Harry Potter's lightning bolt.

What's the title of the current chapter in your life?

Can I Decide Another Day: What am I Forgetting?

What's the hardest lesson you've learned?

When to keep my mouth shut.  Often, if I hadn't said anything at all, things would have resolved themselves much quicker and with better results.

What mistake do you keep making over and over?

Coming home with the belief that Pax and Meri have been good and nothing has been eaten/destroyed.

What do people think is weird about you?

Yes.

When people look at you, what do you think they see/think?

Strong, independent woman.

What have you created that you are most proud of?

 Teh Ville.

  1. I think I turned into the woman you thought you would be...but I'm good with it ;) Also, might further the stealing chain.

  2. I'm glad you stole it! The "what do people think is weird about you" made me laugh. The older I get the more I forget the lesson on how to keep your mouth shut.
