Weekend Review {8/17}

FRIDAY

Workout, dog walks, shower, breakfast, massage, nap time.  That's what PTO Fridays look like.. and that's how I rolled.

Post-massage nap?
Yes, please, thank you.

So I felt like an asshole after the fact, but someone called me from an 828 area code and I didn't know who it was, so I let Google screen the call.  I was napping, so I said I'd call back, but I laughed at this way more than I should have.  Also, please note, that my Granny has switched phone numbers several times and not given me her new number(s), so I do NOT feel bad not recognizing that it was her.  Generally, unknown NC numbers that call me are spam.

I did eventually get up and do productive things like the laundry and installing WoW on Teh German's laptop since my 2011 laptop was just not reliable enough.

Dat bendy snoots. <3

Teh German came home at 1:30 and showered and packed and at 2, he and Teh PT Husband loaded up and headed to Asheville for bro beers weekend.  I play WoW until it was time to feed the dogs and make myself presentable for semi-fancy dinner at 5Church with Teh PT Wife and Kid.

sttttteeeeaaakkkk

Ok so, let me explain this next photo with TWO bites of $45 steak on it.  This is what my plate looked like when the server approached our table and asked if she could take my place.

BITCH NO YOU CANNOT.  THERE IS STILL FOOD THERE.  I did not ask for a box.  My fork is not upside down.  GTFO of my face with that shit.  I crossed my hands over my plate and told her NO, she could NOT take my plate.  WTF?

No shit, she tried to take all of our plates before we were actually finished and she took the bowl of fries we'd shared before they were all gone or could be put into a box!  I get that it started to get busy, but we had a reservation and we hadn't even been there an hour.  Additionally, we had to wait a bit of time to put in our order since she stood at the table next to ours talking to them for a solid 5+ minutes instead of looking over to check and see that we were ready (which was obvious), we had to pull someone else to take our order.  Did not like.  The food was good, but the service definitely left something to be desired.  Also, I really struggle with servers who take the glasses from the table to do refills.  Especially when you take 2 glasses of the same beverage.  I do NOT expect you to be able to remember whose was whose.

After dinner, we put leftovers in the car and walked down Market St with the goal of going to Kilwin's for dessert.  We stopped in a cookie shop and I picked up this Charleston hand towel since I'm already feeling nostalgic and we haven't even put the house on the market yet.  We got some soap samples.  Then we finally made it to Kilwin's.  Much tasty joy was had.

When I got home, I handled the beasts, giving them the other half of their dinners, then plopped in front of the computer for some WoW time.

SATURDAY

With the husbands gone, it had been decided it would be eat out weekend.  So Saturday started at Vicious Biscuit at Nexton, then a trip to Target for a whole bunch of shit we/I didn't overly need, but bought anyways (underwear for husband, new swim suits for husband, my preferred toilet paper, dog toys).

Super sad these were too big and have to be returned.

The best part about Teh German driving?
I got the WHOLE GARAGE TO MYSELF.

When I got home, I distributed new toys (not sorry for all those Snaps) and then had some couch time with the beasts which turned into nap time.

Big Booty Judy practically sitting on me.

Finally settled.

Leg bolsters are a thing now?

The other children had their couch.

Pants McGee over there was panting so hard that she was rocking the couch, which woke me up from my nap because it was making me motion sick.  Fun.

I had wanted to go out for dinner and invited Twin Mom out, but she reversed it on me and invited us over for their lowcountry boil smoke.  I informed her that it was a husband-less weekend and that I'd pick up the requested "crusty bread" on my way to their house.  I chose wisely to drive to the grocery store by their house to avoid having to swim into the grocery store since the sky was dumping buckets of water at our house.  Our street was a river.  When I got to Ladson, it was completely dry at the grocery store I'd selected.  WHEW.

With crusty bread, I headed to dinner with Twin Fam.  One of my coworkers and his wife was there as well, which was fun to see them as well.  Dinner was fucking delicious and the company was awesome and it was nice to get to hang out.

I headed home after 9:30 to call a very drunk Teh German back, feed the beasts the rest of their dinner, and then go to bed.

SUNDAY

I was roused suddenly before 0700 after Meri had jumped on the bed by her letting out a cry and her arm being at a funky angle.  As it was dark and I was barely functional, I had to do some detective work and finally figured out she had her dew claw stuck in the ring where her tags are attached to her collar.  HOW?!  I do not know, luck I guess.

I fed the beasts and scrolled for a bit and went back to sleep.  I finally got up because Sandy was downstairs whining, which I assumed meant she needed to go out.  No, it meant that I wasn't within breathing distance.  I made her ass go outside anyways.

Since I was up, I started working on the menu for the week.  Eventually, I headed upstairs to get ready since Teh PT Wife and I had discussed going to brunch on Sunday after they got back from church.  As I was finishing blow drying my hair, so I looked like I had tried, I got stood up.

I went downstairs and debated going to brunch by myself or just figuring out something at home.  Instead, I messaged Teh German and asked if they had eaten since they were on their way home.  He explained they hadn't really eaten much and he'd be hungry when he got home, so we planned to go to the Cuban place for "linner" (lunch+dinner) when he got home.

Green fries.
An absolute must.

I had actually wanted to go back there last weekend, but we were busy so it didn't happen.  I'm not sorry.

After we ate, we headed back home for couch snuggles/scrollin' time.  I unintentionally took a nap, which led to disastrous sleeps.  After I woke up, I played some WoW since Teh German had moved on to watch his YouTube videos.

Eventually, it was bedtime, and despite my best efforts, the last time I looked at the clock was after midnight and wake up time was at 0515.  Le siiiigh.

______________________________________________

Overall, a good weekend.  Got some socializing in, did some unnecessary shopping, ate delicious foods.

It's been a rough start on this Monday, but Teh German let me whine, so that was nice.  Sore pieces, shitty sleeps, a difficult workout, dog walks to start the day, but it was a pleasant 70° this morning (instead of +75°, which makes for an even more miserable workout).  Then a dog was running around loose in front of the house this morning, so the beasts have been on high alert.

My life is so uneventful now that my calendar app on my phone actually has BLANK SPACE at the bottom where the list goes on and on.  It kinda blows my mind to have so few events going on but I am also happy with it after the last 3 years of chaos.

Oh and speaking of chaos (if you made it this far you deserve to know)... My start date for my new job is 8/31!  Finally got some good news last week and handled it in a calm, controlled manner and gave Teh German one last chance to back out of leaving Charleston.  He agreed that I should take the job, so we'll wait till he gets a start date to put the house on the market, which is different than our original plan, but puts less stress on us/him.  I've been told I'll be teleworking, which is fine, but I also have the option to go up to MD and stay with Teh Bestie if I need to be there.  Soooo YAY!

Weekend Review {01/21}

FRIDAY

After work, Teh German and I wound up at the gym at the same time, so we got to workout together, which usually doesn't happen.  In a OMG-you're-so-cute-I'm-going-to-vomit move, we both wore our Rugged Maniac race shirts, without knowing each other was wearing it.  We don't plan these things, this is just the way we are... we're just naturally this cute, Gentle Readers.

After gym time, we headed home, showered, and agreed that we wanted to go out for dinner since we'd been good all week about eating at home.  We agreed on Matt's Burgers in Summerville since it had good reviews on Yelp.  It turned out to be a hole-in-the-wall/Mom and Pop type of place.  We were lucky to get a table since there was only seats for less than 25 people.  The food was pretty good.  The burgers were pretty thin, but we were pleased with our life choice.

After dinner, we headed back home.  Teh German went over for a cigar with Teh PT Husband and I stayed home and laid in bed reading until I was tired.  When I had finally fallen asleep, Teh German came in and I was disgruntled for the rest of the night and couldn't sleep well.  He didn't mean to wake me up OR shine his cell phone flash in my eyes, but it happened and with the sickness that I'm struggling with, all sleeps that I get are precious and when I don't get my sleeps, I'm extra crotchety.

SATURDAY

After super shitty sleeps Friday night, I tried to sleep in after Teh German went to work (yes, on Saturday) and that didn't really happen.  Instead, I got up and completed some to-do tasks (apply for an updated passport, purchase Pittsburgh flights, research study abroad things).  I did eventually start on my homework, but didn't get too far into it when Teh PT Wife said she was going to Sam's and asked if I wanted to join. I said yes and we also agreed to go to Target.

At Sam's, we played adult tetris because I didn't get my own cart.  I wasn't planning on purchasing the stuff that I did, buttt we managed to make it work.  After Sam's, we went to Target.  Coincidentally, after seeing photos of the new Oreo varieties on Teh Diver's page, I happened upon an endcap of Oreos and brought home these 2 new flavors:

I'm not gonna lie to you, the MOST STUF is too much Stuf, IMO.  They are good for eating without dunking in milk, but if you don't dunk an Oreo in milk, is it even really an Oreo at that point?  NO.  It's like Double Stuf x2, so you can't even taste the cookie.  Meh.  The Love Oreos are actually pretty good, but also not really for dunking, but they are delicious without milk, so it worked out.  I probably won't eat much of either, so I'll end up bringing them to work.  Also, with the MOST STUF, there's less than half of the cookies you'd get with Double Stuf.  I felt ripped off.  Double Stuf is this Goldilock's selection of "just right."

After getting home, I drove Willow over to Teh PT House, loaded her up with all my purchases, then backed down the street to the house and backed into the garage.  Teh German commented on the motion notifications he got and how weird it was that I left and immediately came back, and it confused him until I explained what happened.

After Teh German got home, we piddled around for a bit.  I scooped poop and eventually, Teh PT Kid came over to hangout with us for the evening since his parents were going out for dinner.  Usually, he doesn't stay with us, buttttt we had big plans!  He's been reading Harry Potter and I've been listening to the audiobook of whatever book he's on and we needed to watch, at least, the first movie!  He's also going to Universal Studios for his birthday at the end of the month and he needs to be prepared for Harry Potter World!

After I was done with poop duty, I sat down with my laptop and I set up Teh PT Kid to take the Pottermore quizes to determine his house and wand.  He seemed less than thrilled to be bothered with my Harry Potter excitement, so I gave up the fight and we loaded up and headed to Willie Jewell's for dinner.  We hadn't been there in a while and Teh PT Kid is a pretty picky eater, so this was a simple solution for everyone.

After we got back home, Teh German loaded up the first movie for us.  I was impressed Teh PT Kid stayed awake.  During the movie, Teh PT Kid and I discussed some points about how the book was different than the movie.  I pointed out actors from other stuff we'd watched to Teh German.

After the movie ended, Teh PT Kid played on his Kindle while Teh German and I watched The Office.  When Teh PT Wife arrived to pick him up, she gave me a true-friend gift, a peanut butter tart dessert from Hall's Chophouse.

After our episode ended, it was bedtime for the elders.

SUNDAY

Sunday morning, I got up for dog duty and finished up my German homework and started my programming assignment.  When Teh German got up, we discussed our plan of action and we agreed to pick up my prescriptions, grab breakfast, and swing by Lowe's.

After seeing on the Facebooks that Brunch Holiday was out, I told Teh German we needed to go there.  He'd not eaten there and I had, so I knew it was delicious.  He agreed that it was delicious, said he still felt hungry after he finished his meal, so that wasn't so good.

After breakfast, we went to pick up my prescriptions and a few random items that I'd forgotten the day before (of course).  I relearned that the $50 virtual doctor visit on Thursday was a fucking waste and that the doc had only prescribed Flonase, of which we have several bottles from Teh German's various sicknesses over the last two years.  She didn't actually prescribe any cough syrup, just suggested an OTC cough syrup.  Waste.of.fucking.money.  I also learned that the birth control for my hot flashes will cost me $129 dollars per month.. soooo did NOT fill that prescription either.  Ugh.

We picked up the rest of the items on the list and then headed to Lowe's for a screen repair kit.  Not being able to breathe freely really drains me, so I just waited in the truck while Teh German ran in.  When we got home, I opted to take a nap, which really just resulted in me laying in bed reading until Teh PT Wife texted saying that our SC parents were at their house (Teh PT Wife's parents and Teh PT Husband's parents) and we should come over.  After getting the laundry caught up, I told Teh German we should go socialize and so we headed over.

When it was doggy dinner time, we returned home, fed the beasts, had leftover buffet for dinner, and then we watched The Office until it was bedtime.

______________________________________________

Despite Teh German having to work on Saturday, it was still a pretty good weekend.  Since Teh German had to work today, I also chose to work today, rather than burn PTO.  Although, this morning before I rolled out of the bed, it was quite tempting to just have a lazy day.. then I remembered I don't have much in the way of tasking right now, sooo why not get paid?  I know, this is a rough life I lead.

I almost considered going on a run this morning, but it was 32°F, so "too cold."  I also have very little effort to give due to the lingering sickness.

Other fun facts.. I restarted my hot flashes birth control because the hot flashes are back.  It's really the pits.. but it was a nice non-medicated month.  I can tell a difference between Megan on the pill and Megan not on the pill, which makes me sad.  On the pill Megan is more emotional where Non-medicated Megan just doesn't give a fuck.  On the pill Megan really cries a lot too.  That's super annoying.

I didn't mention it above, but one of the other reasons for super shitty sleeps on Friday was because I reallllllyyyy want to do a study abroad this summer and my brain wouldn't let it go.  Specifically, I want to do a study abroad in Germany and there's a scholarship I could apply for through The Citadel, but I need to speak with my German professor to find out the details.

The biggest issue for my brain is, if I get to do the study abroad, there will be a lot of events that I don't get to take part in.  I also don't want to sign up for said events if I won't be able to attend, so I'm having to put off a few things until I figure out this study abroad situation.  My brain really doesn't like having to wait for things to fall into place, thus the extra shitty sleeps on Friday night.

This week includes:
-Setting up a time to meet with my German professor about the study abroad details and the scholarship.
-Calling my OB/GYN to get a different prescription OR calling my insurance company to find out why the BC isn't covered or if that's the high deductible price.  #FML
-Mailing off my passport renewal form after finding the terrorist pics that we took for Teh German's green card application and the certified marriage license.
-Homework things (of course).
-We potentially have a Yelp brunch on Sunday, if we both get accepted to attend the event.

We're within TWO WEEKS of my birthday!
Currently, there are no celebration plans, so I should figure something out.
Stupidly, the Super Bowl happens to fall on my bday this year, which is the shittiest shit.
I feel like January has lasted forever (that might be due to the sickness), so I'm ready for February.
Teh German and I are still in discussions about where we will be having our birthday dinner this year.  We usually go fancy for our anniversary and a February birthday dinner since his bday is at the end of February.  So we'll see where we end up.

Weekend Review {10/08}

FRIDAY

Friday was a loooooooooong day.  Gym, then school, then teleworking from school, then evening make up classes because Hurricane Florence.  Since Teh Sister had been talking about them, I couldn't get them off my mind, so I went to Panera and picked up a pink ribbon bagel.  It was not as delicious as I remember them being when I was in college.  Oh well.

We had to take 2 quizzes in my 0900 computer science class, then a test in my German class.  I haven't been to the Vet Center on campus much this semester since I go straight to work after class ends, so it was nice to go sit and hang out and chat with some Citadel vet friends.  My 3:00 class consisted of another test, and my 4:30 class was really just a torture session where I worked on a project that I couldn't get to work properly, but the instructor had strongly suggested we work in teams on it, so I used someone else's results and answered the questions.  The class felt like it was lasting all my life and I was relieved when I drove off campus.

Teh German and I had agreed to meet for dinner at Lewis Barbecue since I was already so close to downtown.  I arrived before Teh German, so I stood outside my car and read my ebook until he arrived.

Saw this #DateNight happening on my way to Lewis.
Couples that moped together, aren't cool together.

Noooommmm

We were enjoying dinner until a group of people sat at "their" table nearby and requested the fans be turned on.  There was no need for the fans to be turned on, the bugs weren't bad and the flies went away after a while.  Nonetheless, their request was acquiesced and then all my hair wispies were all in my face while I was trying to finish my sandwich and I was so fucking angry I wanted to stab the douchey bro who seemed to be the leader of the group in the leg.  We didn't sit around after we finished our food because my hair was still blowing in my face and I was so fucking angry.  It was unfortunate since we'd been having such a good time until that point.

We went straight home after dinner.  We agreed on watching Shameless to pass the evening.

Pax gave me a finger dent while I was trying to get the toy from his mouth.
#BoyMomWoes

SATURDAY

Saturday I got up with the beasts so I could get a start on accomplishing my weekend homework.  When my mouse started acting funky, I decided to change out the batteries.  That was a disaster that pissed me off so badly that I ended up organizing the battery cabinet and another drawer where I was hoarding some battery things.  Teh German eventually ended up getting the AAA batteries open and even he struggled.

I was done with ALL my homework by 12:30 and I had NO idea what to do with myself after that.  We had lunch and Teh German was trying to troubleshoot the security camera wifi dongle thing and then I tried (not having any idea what I was doing) and neither of us were successful and I, again, suggested he call the camera help people and his stubborn ass still insists that "I've fixed it before!" so fine, his problem.  Fucking security cameras.

Instead of dealing with crabby ass, I laid on the couch and read some for a bit and then decided on a nap.  When I woke up, Teh German was here:

There was a video playing, but he was definitely falling asleep.

I took the opportunity to peruse Groupon to find something to do.  When I rolled over to ask Teh German if he wanted to do a ghost tour, he said that his Biker Gang Friends had asked if we wanted to meet them at Buffalo Wild Wings to watch the UFC fight.  I was not interested in watching the UFC fight, nor am I ever interested, but I was interested in dinner.  So we agreed to meet them at BWW at 7:30.

Since I had some time before hand and Teh Sister had notified me that Cartwheel had 40% off our favorite chapstick, I took the opportunity to go to Target.

Nothing screams "I hate good gas mileage" and "fuck you" to the people behind you on the road quite like this.
I almost had a heart attack when I saw that mattress fly up.

Now if only they would combine these products.  My life would be complete.

Christmas toys for the beasts!

I made it to BWW right at 7:30 and not a single person that was supposed to be there was.  Immediately, I was annoyed.  Add to that, BWW was doing a thing where if you were there to watch the fight it was $100 for a table for 6, which included 50 wings and 2 appetizers.  I managed to get a table outside on the patio and slowly, everyone else showed up.  I don't know why I bothered to be on time, it's very rare that anyone in the group is actually on time (besides Teh German and I).

Eventually, it was decided that we'd all go to our house and pick up frozen pizzas and beer on the way.  This was a good idea in theory.  Except instead of following ME, they followed Teh German.  There was some drama and after a failed attempted, we all ended up at Publix.  Once beer and pizza were acquired, and cupcakes for me, we headed home.  Teh German had went straight home to get the UFC ticket set up and turned on.

When I got home around 9, I was hangry and I'd be frustrated since 7:30 and I was over it.  Even after saying I wasn't doing it, I still ended up cooking everyone's pizzas, which only served to piss me off more, even after I'd eaten a cupcake and 2 pieces of pizza, yes, in that order.

I finally went and sat down on the couch with the other lady that was with the group... at which point all the dudes went outside..  So we were the least interested in watching the fight and we were the only ones inside semi-watching the TV while chatting to keep ourselves awake.  The guys were outside for over an hour before they finally came in around midnight to watch the actual main event fight.

It was after 0130 when we finally crawled in the bed.

SUNDAY

I had planned to get some miles in on Sunday, but I woke up at 0930 and misread my watch and thought it said 1030 and almost had a heart attack since that's when we were supposed to leave for brunch.  I knew I didn't have time to get in significant mileage like I wanted and I was (and still am) dealing with the BJB monster from last week, so it just wasn't in the books.  Instead, I snuggled with Meri and Teh German and then we finally got up and got ready and met Teh Dental Hygienist, Teh AF Maintainer, and his family at Rutledge Cab Company for brunch.  I was torn between the poutine and the huevos rancheros, and, expectedly, I went with the huevos rancheros.  The option of extra cilantro sold me.  I lurve me some cilantro.  No pics because I was fucking starving, and it looked exactly the same as it did almost a year ago for my bachelorette weekend brunch.

After brunch, we stopped at Sam's, then we went home.  It was quite people-y in public, so it was for the best.  When we got home, we were bored and ended up watching Warcraft.  I was so disappointed in that movie.  So much could have been done with that and it was so limited and lacking.  And I also couldn't restrain myself sometimes to tell Teh German about how things weren't accurate or were accurate.

We ate leftovers for dinner because there was so much pizza left over from the night before (oops) and there was still chicken and gnocchi soup.  After dinner, we watched Shameless until it was bedtime.  I know, we were killing it.

______________________________________________

My BJB and I are not fighting as much, but it's still giving me some problems.  Nonetheless, I got out this morning and got in 5 miles (4.5 on my own and .5 jogging with OMG YAY (Meri) and UGH PLS NO (Pax)).  I, unfortunately, think I have done something to mess up my left foot and I'm not sure what it is.  The foot hurts really bad when I walk and do certain movements, but doesn't hurt as much when I'm running.  It also cramps randomly.  Of course, less than 1 month before the first of four half marathons my body starts to act a fool.  I'm wondering if it may have been caused by the BJB since when the BJB is angry, it affects my stride/gait, thus causing me to injure myself.  Teh Running Bestie has put me on no-running rest until Thurs.  She didn't say I couldn't go to 9 Rounds though... >:D (do people still make the devil emoji like that? lol)

Teh German called the HVAC company this morning and on the first talk they offered to pay 50% of the repairs since it's not 100% who is a fault for the mess up (us for installing drain pipe extensions (the extensions are completely clean of debris, so I strongly doubt we're at fault) or them for their last completed work).  That's not ideal for us, but it IS better than nothing.

I earned an 98 on my German test, even with stupid errors, and I have a 104 average in the class.  100's on both CS quizzes from Friday (although prob a 70 on today's quiz...) and I'll find out tomorrow how I did on my circuits test.

I'm finally in my school routine/groove and that makes life way easier.  Since it is around midterms time, last week was pretty hellish since there were multiple tests/projects within a week of each other.  My online class continues to be stupid, but it's easy, so I'm not going to look that gift horse in the mouth.  We do not get a fall break at the Citadel, but we do get a week off for Thanksgiving, so, also not complaining about that.  The downside to getting into my routine is that Leadership Day will disrupt that, then we're off for election day (GO FUCKING VOTE, GENTLE READERS), then thanksgiving break for a week, then 2 weeks of school and the semester is over (praise be to Allah).  I will have officially made it HALFWAY at the end of this semester.

I'm starting to consider our Thanksgiving plans.  I'll be in Tulsa the weekend before with Teh Running Bestie and Matilda and I considered a pit stop in El Paso to visit Teh Sister, but I can't change my plane ticket, which is a real bummer, so I'm not really sure what I'll do.

We're still waiting on Teh German green card stuff, so most of our travel plans are on hold.  This isn't just irritating Papa G anymore, but also me.  I'm ready to get on with my life.  Make plans.  I NEEDS some travel to look forward to.  We were discussing diving in Mexico at brunch on Sunday and I'm all, YASS PLEASE!  Siiiiigh, fucking government with the hurry up and wait for always.

In case anyone was wondering, it's still hot AF in Charleston and fall is no where to be found.  We're still in Charleston Summer.  There is a hurricane in the Gulf of Mexico that is probably going to slam into FL and while I hope the destruction is minimal, I hope for 1- RAIN, that sweet sweet sky water, 2- post-hurricane hoodie weather (this is usually what happens).  I'm seriously tired of elbow sweat and literal dripping sweat from my face when I run in the mornings.

PS.  I moved my massage from Friday to Tuesday and this is probably the best life choice I've made all month.

Weekend Review {8/6}

FRIDAY

More cramming and then my calc 2 final on Friday morning.  The test was a disaster.  Hopefully, my teacher will give me enough participation points so I don't have to participate in calc 2 ever again...

That face expression:
I've lost my damn mind.
After the final was a trip to the dealership and a massage.  Then I went home and we decided to go to Poe's Tavern for dinner.  I should also mention that I ate breakfast but nothing after that because I didn't have the opportunity.  If there was a worst thing about my calc class (besides the subject matter and instructor) it was that it was from 1015-1240?? (we never knew if class would end on time or not and she always "owed" us time.. /rolleyes).  Like.. ALL of my prospective lunch times fall during that time.  Early lunch, normal lunch, late lunch.. By the time I was finally able to eat, it was more like linner (lunch+dinner) and then by the time I'd get home, I wouldn't be hungry for dinner.  But I'd sure as shit wake up starving.  I did make protein shakes for a week or so, but that got old QUICK and I stopped making them and started bringing leftovers that I'd heat up after class, but then when your brain goes on strike and you forget your lunch 4/5 days.. you just give up and go out for lunch.. even if it takes you 30 minute to decide where to go.

Before we went to Poe's we stopped by Best Buy to take advantage of the tax free weekend to buy a new cheapie computer.  Sadly, the Dell I had picked was out of stock, so we didn't get to bring it home that night.  But we ordered it and it's coming eventually.

After Poe's, we headed back home to go straight to bed.  I was exhausted and I probably would have fallen asleep on the couch if I hadn't went straight upstairs.

SATURDAY

Saturday morning I was up at 0630 with the dogs.  There was no going back to sleep, so I got up and wrote Saturday's post and noted some of the test questions a classmate should study for the calc final since she had to postpone taking it.

Teh Dental Hygienist's baby shower was at 11, and, originally, I was supposed to help host, but due to Hell Month, that wasn't really an option.  Thankfully, Teh PT Wife made shit happen and everything was awesome.

After the baby shower, I dropped off Teh Gardener at the Honda dealership and then went to Target, which was a good and bad life choice.  Good because I wanted to go to Target and just walk around and do whatever the fuck I wanted.. Bad because tax free weekend and children.

I saw this cool dude on my way to Target.

After Target, I took Willow to the car wash to properly clean her and then to the grocery store to pick up a few items.

To include 7 boxes of mac and cheese because they were on sale and I wanted particular flavors, but I wasn't sure the sale was on all mac and cheese or just certain name brands.  It's hard to be me.

There was a 20% Cartwheel code for dog toys, soooo Pax and Meri got new "school supplies."
/swoon
The bag crunches and the high-"licker"s and pb&j sammich squeak.

Meri's new "mouse".
All Meri's small toys are called mice since that's what she plays with 80% of the time.

After I got home from my outing, Teh German helped me unload the car and put away the groceries.  While I had been out, Teh Neighbor Besties and Teh German had decided on pizza for dinner.  Shortly after I got home, we left for a pizza place in Summerville I'd never heard of (there was coupons!).  It was good food, but we struggled with the actual restaruant.  We first sat in the back, but there was no air flow and we were dying.  So after some tables cleared out, we pushed some tables together and sat where there were fans.  THEN... another huge party (like a party bigger than our 7 people) came in and they had obnoxious kids that were screaming and crawling all over the table and even Teh PT Wife (who is a mom) was annoyed, so I felt validated at considering violence as a solution to the problem.  Despite our glares, they didn't pipe down until their food arrived.

After dinner, we headed home to release the hounds, then headed over to Teh PT House to hang out for a little bit.  I endured the Ray Lewis speech sermon and realized that I was starting to annoy everyone because I was annoying myself.  I was overly tired and it was time for bed.

SUNDAY

Sunday morning, I woke up at 0530 to Meri scratching the door, which is never a good sign.  I could hear her belly rumbling, so I got up and let her out.  I also opted to feed her since that usually quiets her belly down.  Pax hadn't gotten up with us, but he eventually heard Meri eating and made it downstairs quicklike.  I went ahead and fed him too and then ensured both dogs had went business before we all went back upstairs for a nap.

Teh German didn't even rouse.  We had discussed riding to brunch and getting up "early"..  But at 1015, I woke up again and Teh German rolled over and asked what time it was.  For someone that has such high hopes of getting up "early" he sure had no qualms about sleeping all morning.

We eventually rolled out of the bed and debating riding or driving to brunch.  I eventually decided we should just drive since I figured that it didn't matter where we went, we'd probably get caught by the rain.  We headed to The Mill House Tavern for brunch.  I had the chicken and biscuits with pimento cheese while Teh German had the chef's choice omelette and home fries.  He won.  Unfortunately, my pimento cheese was almost too spicy for me to eat, but I endured it because it was delicious otherwise.  The honey that came with my food was also spicy, so I had to ask for regular honey. Even still, the meal could have used a gravy or something, but I was being cheap and didn't want to add a side of sausage gravy.  Honestly, it should have just come with it because otherwise, it was a very dry meal.  I survived.

After brunch, we stopped by Fleet Feet so I could pick up a new pair of sunglasses.  I chipped one of the lenses in my Oakleys monthhhhsss ago and I kept meaning to go buy a new pair of Goodr glasses, but kept forgetting/putting it off.  The Goodr glasses are the same frame style as my Oakleys, they are also polarized and mirrored... annnnndddddddd they only cost $25.. instead of $150.  Game on, bitches.  The black frames didn't have mirrored lenses, so grey frames it was.  The grey style is called "Going to Valhalla.." which is awesome since we love Vikings.

After Fleet Feet, Teh German and I went by Michael's to replace a frame that Roomy broke before the picture was hung and pick up some Cricut stuff for me.  Then we headed to Old Navy since Teh German decided recently that he wanted some new shirts... and shorts.. and a few long sleeve shirts.

I also, picked up a few things.. Oops.  At least my stuff was on SALE.  Not so much for most of what Teh German picked out.  Thankfully, he only shops for clothes like once every other year, so I guess the not buying on sale balances out??? Maybe?  It still hurt my heart a little bit to see a $25 button down on my receipt.

When we got home, I detagged the new clothes and sorted the laundry while talking with Teh Dad.  Then Teh German and I finally hung the frames on the shrine wall that had been waiting to be hung for quite a while.  I also discovered that we no longer own glass cleaner (which I'm definitely blaming on the cleaners, since I KNOW we had glass cleaner a month ago and I know I didn't use it all), so I had Teh German hang the replacement frame and I'll just take it down and clean it, then put the photo in it after I pick up cleaner.  Hanging it is the hard part, so I wanted to make sure that got done.

After we finished the tedious task of hanging things (which Teh German considered ALL he could do for the rest of the day), we watched The Ranch on Netflix.  We started it last week and I think it's hilarious.  It's got the perverted humor that tickles me the mostest.  Teh German also laughs sometimes, so that's a plus.  Sadly, it's only 3 seasons so far.

For dinner, we made kale-sweet potato-lentil-sausage Poop Soup  (I have given it this name because it is fiber-tastic and delightful poops are had after eating it.  We prepped it together and then watched a few episodes while it cooked, then we ate.  After dinner, Teh PT Wife and I took the beasts on a walk.

Teh PT Wife saved a baby turtle!

And when we were a little over halfway, Max found this puddle that he collapsed in.  He didn't really lay down so much as just flung himself down in the water/mud on his belly and scooted around.  Weirdo.

After I got home, it was a few more episodes of The Ranch, while working on Cricut projects.  Then it was laundry and bedtime.

______________________________________________

I forgot what it was like to ENJOY LIFE.  The feeling of not having something else you should be doing is such a relief.  I'm not excited for school to start back up.  Normally, I am.  Normally, I'm ready to get into the routine.. but not this semester.  If I didn't know I'd walk away and never start again, I'd take a break from school.  Hell Month did a real number on me.

This week includes laziness.  A dog sitter situation will determine if we make a trip to Raleigh this weekend to visit Teh Advising Sister.  There's, thankfully, nothing on the calendar for the next 2 weeks.  Teh Dad and Teh Stepmom are coming to visit the weekend before school starts and school resumes on Aug 22nd.  😭😭😭😭

The next 2 weeks are a delicate balance of getting all the shit done that I wasn't able to accomplish in July and getting stuff accomplished before the fall semester starts, but relaxing at the same time.

I spent most of my morning moderating our neighborhood Facebook page.. and by moderating, I mean deleting posts of assholes making snipes at each other and shit-stirrers, especially when they tried to use that shit spoon in my pot.  Bitch please, #ByeFelicia.  No shit, I turned off the ability for members to post and shit-stirrers were finding places to comment, which I, of course, deleted and turned off comments on.  Just call me Censorship Megan.  I cannot with these bitches.

The person who reacted with the "haha"?
The well-known shit-stirrer.

I got a LOT of work done after I turned off posting.  Until someone messaged me about why SHE couldn't post because someone left dog poop in her yard.  Ya'll.  I CANNOT WITH THESE PEOPLE.  Why do people think that posting on social media will solve their problems?  I do not understand.  That's what started shit this morning to begin with.  I suggested to Dog Poop Lady that maybe she get cameras and confront people since posting on social media doesn't do anything to remedy the problem.  Also, if you stop going outside or get a life, you won't even notice the shit on your front yard.  Maybe it's because we have cameras, but I've never noticed poop in our front yard.  Then again, I'm also 1- not looking that closely, 2- walking through my front yard policing it for dog shit.

PS Toby is my spirit animal.
Also, I want to watch The West Wing again.
