Five on Friday #221

EINS - Random Shit

I have a confession... and I haven't told anyone this.
Teh Ginger posted something recently about rejoining the military based on current events and I actually looked up the age limits of the different branches.

I don't know what this actually means, but the fact that I even researched this is moderately significant.  I'm not sure if I would ever give up the DD-214 life, or if the military would even accept me again (with all my broke ass pieces), but I wonder how much I would actually consider it.

I did actualize that if I ever joined the military again, I'd only go in as an officer.  So there's that.

No matter how you look at it, the fact that I even entertained the idea is horrifying.

So I'm in the Facebook group for the Ragnar 31 day challenge and some of these people who wake up at 0-dark-thirty and do their workouts with a full face of makeup have me conflicted.  Like, WHY and WUT at the same time.  So confusing.  I am definitely judging those people.

I'm curious about other's opinions on singing the National Anthem while it is being performed at a sporting event/etc.  I'm torn.  Part of me always wants to sing along, part of me is like, "be respectful bitches!"  Teh Bestie and I were discussing this after she attended a Red Wings game in Toronto where the Canadians sang their national anthem with the singer.

I think I would be ok with it, if only because it would mean that there would be no more embellished version of the US National Anthem, which annoys me to the absolute max.

Opinions of the Gentle Readers?

When I was putting away the Christmas decorations, I changed out the fuses in my Baggins tree since the lights had went out and the tree wasn't lit up for most of Christmas, but I knew it was there, so fine.  Thankfully, the lights work again with new fuses which means next year, the Baggins tree is back in business!

PS.  For clarification purposes, the Baggins tree is my accidental "in memory of Phil" tree.  The only decorations are some silver/blue balls, a purple feather boa, and Phil's tags. 💙

My unpopular opinion(s):
1- I am not a fan of student loan debt forgiveness.  Yes, I do not disagree that college is expensive, but you can make the choice to go to a school that costs $20k per semester or $5k per semester or even less!  There are affordable ways to get attain higher education, says the old lady using her GI Bill to pay for a 2nd bachelor's degree.  I will admit that I was mostly debt free after graduating from NCSU because I received a SHIT TON of financial aid because Teh Mom was unemployed and I used her info for my FAFSA while I was in college because she was unemployed, whereas Teh Dad was employed and prob made too much for me to get as much in scholarships.  Yes, I know how lucky I am.  That said, I also busted my ass and applied for every fucking scholarship known to man as a senior in high school.  I watched the big scholarships get granted to those with parents who could afford to send them to school, while I ended up with a single $250 scholarship from the Rotary club or something.

2- I am not a fan of universal basic income.  Nope, nope, nope.  There are already too many people freeloading off the system as it is and I feel like this $1k per month that is being "promised" is less of an economic stimulant and more of a way to get votes from lower classes.

I often make fun of Teh German for being an ostrich and sticking his head in the sand about stuff, but that is EXACTLY my reaction to this Iran/Trump stuff right now.  I'm in a good place, after some serious struggles over the last few months and I'm not ready to burst the bubble yet.

Goodreads Users,
There's a way to compare your stats with your friends stats!  I didn't know until this week and now I want to compare myself with EVERYONE I know.

Coworker: Are you eating a brownie with a SPOON?
Me: No, I ate some rice with it though.  You know I'm not that much of a lady to eat a brownie with a spoon!
*Laughter*

So here's what I've been vaguely talking about for the last few weeks.

Teh German got a new job (Yay for 2019 redeeming itself and its super suck).  Insanely proud of him for dealing with a very annoying application process (that required a super stupid aptitude test), going through his first American (read: in English) interview process, and getting the job.

There is some underlying issues associated with this change that are, now, mostly out of our control and we are trying to mitigate it, but at this point, my "come what may" attitude has taken over my entire life and that's where we are now.

Come.what.fucking.may.
But seriously, I'm think I'm going to ask Teh German for a birthday trip to a "break shit" place because I need to fucking take out some rage on some shit (without having to clean it up or repair any damages that happen).

Due to the stresses of Teh German's job situation (the most stressful parts haven't been detailed here because I do actually keep some things private, WUUUT?), I feel like 99% of my Christmas break from school has been spent stressing about the situation and I've been mostly unable to relax the entire time, which fucking sucks

School starts again on Wednesday and I'm spiraling in a way that requires Xanax and I'm sighing so much I'm annoying myself.  I want to just cry it out, but I'm not sad or that upset, so tears come and I'm left with sighing and reminding myself every 2 minutes to relax my body and remove my tongue from the roof of my mouth to relax my jaw (for real, you'd think my tongue was attached to the roof of my mouth based on how often I have to mentally will myself to hold my tongue down to relax).

I had to download some new motivation stuff on the work computer for this post.  It's a mix up from my normal MHN quotes.  But 100% applicable to what we have going on right now.

FÜNF - Things that made me happy this week

  1. ROUTINE.  I thrive on routine and not knowing what fucking day of the week it was, was causing great chaos in my life.
  2. The means to take care of business when we have to.  Even if it's difficult, even if it's unfamiliar.
  3. A new lint ball
  4. The cleaner coming.
  5. Unexpected calls on difficult days from unexpected persons to check on things.
  6. Finally making the Jim & Nick's cheddar biscuits that I've had in the pantry for way too long.
  7. Hoodies.
  8. When I was shaking the salad to stir it and the lid popped off the bowl and I was showered by lettuce and everyone (Husband, Bestie, Teh Chief Smartass) saw it happen and we all got a good laugh out of the lettuce on my face and in my hair and on my shirt.
  9. 5 dogs in the house.  It's chaos, but Meri and Dash playing is so fucking adorable it makes my heart melt.
  10. THE BESTIE BEING IN TOWN!

Weekend Review {08/05}

FRIDAY

Chem final was at 08 and I finished that beeyoch by 1030 and headed home to do some work things until Teh German came home.  After eating lunch and having to prod Teh German along, we finally got everything packed, the bikes were loaded up and the trailer attached, and we finally hit the road to NC.

We decided we're going to have to leave earlier than 1:45 on a Friday for our next adventure to NC.  We were in a traffic mess almost the entire way from Charleston to Columbia.  Once we got through Columbia, I checked Waze, knowing that we were going to be near Charlotte during rush hour on a Friday with some rain.. and I just wasn't really feeling that.  Waze routed us around Charlotte and we ended up on one of the shittiest SC roads I've ever endured.  To the point that Teh German was ready to turn around and go back the way we came to find another route.. that's how bad the road was.. Then, there was a bridge and I was like, mayyybee after the bridge the road will be better?  In fact, crossing the river meant crossing into NC which meant the road improved 1000%.  Not an exaggeration there.  I feel like SC takes pride in having such shitty roads, which makes my soul hurt.

We made it to Home, Home, and we met Teh Dad and Teh Stepmom for dinner at a Japanese place.  I don't usually order hibachi at Japanese places here, so that was a nostalgic experience, since I used to eat hibachi all the time when I lived at Home, Home.

After dinner, we headed to Teh Dad's house, parked the trailer in the garage, unloaded the truck, then went inside to hang out.  We met tiny-head dog and   The TV was on, as always, and I snarked our way through Lone Survivor.  I felt a little guilty about it.. but there's only so many cliff faces your shot up body can fall from and you live through it.  Then again, adrenaline does crazy things to a body.. so maybe I'm wrong and that movie is 100% FACT.  LOOOOOLLL.

Even with the snarking, I did tear up at the end when the photos of the entire team and those that died were shown.  The entire time I snarked, I was also mentally saying thank you for having never deployed to Afghanistan or Iraq or a real combat zone.  I did say it out loud a few times too.  When the movie was over, it was bedtime.

SATURDAY

Saturday morning, I got up and had my hibachi leftovers for breakfast while chatting with Teh Dad and Teh Stepmom.  Eventually, it was time for me to shower and head to Mooresville to hang out with Noel for the day.

Noel had drawn the elbow piece the last time I was at the shop, so all he had to do was size the stencil and place it, then we got down to business.

Full of optimism and naivety about how it wouldn't hurt that bad.

Taking a break.  My back was pleased.
It's not easy for a big titty babe to lay on her stomach for hours and hours and hours.

Around 5:20, Teh German stopped by to say hi.  Which was really all he said since he spent most of the time on his phone, I assume, looking for routes to take back to Home, Home.  He had been riding in mountains, but got caught in the rain, when he decided to come down the mountain and make the trek to Mooresville.  I told him it looked like he peed in his pants since the crotch of his pants was wet, but nothing else really since he'd air dried on the ride.

I had planned to leave the shop at 6, but it turned into 6:30.  Oops.  But Noel got through the elbow, the shading of the elbow (which almost made me vomit multiple times and I was made fun of for my pterodactyl screeches at one point because I wasn't mentally prepared), and he retouched the upper arm wavy mandala.  I won't say the elbow was as bad as the foot, but Noel started at 1:40ish and we took a 15 minute break, and we went until 6:20ish.  So 4.5ish hours.  During the shading of the elbow, the shock symptoms started.  My legs were quivering and that vomitous feeling was real.  But, I did not die.

On the way to Mooresville, I had called Teh Granny and asked her to come to dinner, she agreed.  I had to call her when I left the shop to tell her that I was running late and that I'd be home around 7:30.  It ended up being more like 7:45, buttttt I couldn't go as fast down I-40 on the way home since no one else was going fast, RUDE.

It was good to hang out with Granny and Teh Dad grilled chicken and Teh Stepmom made pasta salad, which was delicious.  After Granny left, Teh Dad made a bonfire and we sat outside until around 10:30, when it was finally sleep time.

When I went to the bathroom before going to bed, this attention-whore kitty-kitty entertained me.  If you follow me on Snapchat, you saw the adventures.  I don't like cats as a rule.  I am allergic.  But this cat.. IDK, I liked this cat.  It was strange for me.

SUNDAY

Sunday was ride together day.  The forecast showed no rain, which was awesome.  And we had a reservation at 2 for zip lining.  We had a small breakfast and got moving.

Tiny head, big body dog.
She was a sweetie, with a tail worse than a whip.

We stopped at Bojangles for lunch before heading up the mountain so we didn't have to stop later.  After Bojangles, we headed up Hwy 181, Teh German's favorite curvy road near Home, Home.  We stopped at the Brown Mountain Overlook for Teh German to get in some drone time.  Honestly, we could have stayed longer, but 1- the bugs were swarming me and I did not like it, 2- My elbow was wrapped in saran wrap and when the sun hit it, it felt like it was burning, 3- We had to be in Blowing Rock at 1:30, sooo we didn't have as much time as we wanted.

When we left the Overlook, we passed a motorcycle accident in the worse curve on 181.  All I saw was 2 white blobs, which I assume was the gas tank and another bike piece.  There was no bike with the blobs that I saw.  A group of Harley riders had stopped and several cars, so we kept going, to not add to the confusion, knowing there was nothing we could do.  It was sobering since we had definitely just waved at all the bikers that passed by while we were at the Overlook and we saw no less than 30 bikers while we were stopped for those few minutes.  I didn't see the rider, but we did see an ambulance and fire truck headed toward the accident as we made our way up the mountain.  Teh German hadn't realized it was an accident until I told him.

We went down the Blue Ridge Parkway to get to the zip line place, which was a poor decision.  1- We ended up hitting a dirt road, which is NOT ideal on the bikes, 2- There was gravel in MANY places on the Parkway.  Why in the shit that gravel was not swept off the sides of the road with a street sweeper is beyond me, especially considering that it's summertime and there are SO MANY BIKES and cars, for that matter, on the Parkway.  Teh German had said that he had hit gravel on the road during the rain on Saturday, but he said he was on Hwy 221.  Turns out, he was actually on the Parkway and he'd been over the Viaduct without even realizing it.

We finally made it to the zip line place, where Teh Dad was waiting for us.  We were in a group of 10 people, which I do not recommend.  10 people is too many, especially when one of those people is Karl.  Karl was a teenager who was doing the course on his own, while his grandparents waited on him in the car.  Karl was a douche who refused to wear his helmet properly, insisted on having his hair over his eyes, and generally didn't listen to any directions given.  Karl quickly became a target of ridicule for the entire group.  Also, Karl had a body odor that none of us found appealing.  He pissed off one of the guides to the point that she told him, more than once, if he fell from a platform, she wouldn't help him get back up.  Obviously, she would have had to, but he kept fucking around and she was pissed at him for not paying any attention to anything anyone told him.

With 10 people, it took too long, IMO.  Yes, we were in the trees for almost 3 hours, buttttt most of that was spent waiting on other people to zip.  A group of 3 passed us when we were close to the end, and they started 30ish mins or so after we did.

Since it was offered, I had purchased a zip and sip ticket for Teh German, which came with a "free" beer at Speckled Trout, a restaurant in downtown Blowing Rock and 1/2 off small plates.  We weren't super hungry, so we split the fried chicken sandwich, fries, deviled eggs, and hoecakes (corn muffin/pancake combo).

The last hoecake with honey butter.
Lawwwd it was delicious.

Fried chicken sammich.

The other purpose in sharing a meal was that left more room for Kilwins!  #SorryNotSorry

Teh German opted for gummy bears over ice cream.
I married a weirdo, but this means more ice cream for me.. sooo #TradeOffs

When we left Blowing Rock, we were juuuuust getting to the turn that goes out of the downtown area and we hit rain.  Teh German and I agreed to turn around and go a different way down the mountain.  Originally, we had planned to take 321 down the mountain, then take 268 to Wilkesboro for some curves then back to Home, Home.. buttt the rain threw a wrench in that plan.

Instead, we took 221 away from Blowing Rock and took 181 back down the mountain.  This actually worked out well enough.  It meant that Teh German got one more session on 181, and we got to take 221, which is one of my favorite curvy roads.  I think that Teh German had meant to take 221 on Saturday, but he didn't realize the difference between the Parkway and 221 and chose poorly.  Now he knows the difference and will probably always pick 221 for the greater than 35mph speed limit.

Unfortunately, when we got on 181, we hit a band of rain.  And Laaawwwddd it was a COLD, stabby rain.  Not only was my neck getting stabbed by rain pellets, but every now and then a trickle of cold water would run down my warm places and I wanted to die a little.  Thankfully, the rain only lasted about 5 minutes and other than being wet and slightly chilly, the ride down was uneventful.

Teh German agreed to just a few more curvy roads before we went back to Teh Dad's, so I took some short back roads, despite how sore my hips were, then we headed home.

Wet crotch...

After greeting the critters, Teh Stepmom ended up coming home within 5 minutes of our arrival.  I went downstairs and promptly showered to try and get warm.  It mostly didn't work.  After, I went back upstairs to socialize and Teh Dad came home.  Teh German came upstairs and we hung out with Dad for a little while until it was finally time for bed.

MONDAY

We left Teh Dad's around 1030 on Monday morning.  Teh German had gotten up around 0830 and loaded up the bikes while I slept in.  I slept like shit for most of the nights we were there, so extra sleep didn't hurt my heart.  I finally got up when Teh German came back inside and packed the suitcase and got ready to go.  We had a light breakfast and then we headed out.

A Carowinds recce challenge for Teh PT Kid was sent.

The ride was uneventful, thankfully.  We got home around 3ish.  Teh German unloaded the bikes while I did some work things.  After, Teh German went to the gym and I went to Walmart to pick up some things.  I stopped by the car wash on my way home and finally opted to vacuum Willow and clean her windows/crevices.  I guess I was doing such good work that my watch recognized it as a workout... soo uhh, there's that.

When I got home, I took the dogs on a quick stroll about the neighborhood before it started to storm.  It was actually perfect timing since the breeze from the impending storm was delightful and it had cooled down outside by at least 10 degrees.  After we returned home, I fed the dogs, showered, and then it was human dinner time.  After dinner, we watched a few episodes of The Americans and then... our extended weekend was over.  Sads.

______________________________________________

This week is my first week of work only and it's a short week since I took Monday off.  I did do some work stuff, but that's fine.  I really only wanted to take a half day Friday and a half day on Monday, butttt since I'd already scheduled 8 hours of PTO on Monday, it would have required a justification to change it, and rather than deal with that disaster, I just flexed the hours.  Whatever.  Nothing is outstanding, so it's fine.

Originally, I was supposed to sit through an all-day long meeting every day this week, butttt there's no room in the conference room for me, so I am exempt.  #SorryNotSorry for how happy I am about NOT being in that meeting all day.

This month was purposely planned to be a quiet month.  The one goal I had, to get Teh German to the mountains for riding, has been accomplished, soooo that leaves the rest of the month for whatever shenanigans we find.  I do have another tattoo appointment at the end of the month, so that's another opportunity for Teh German to ride, if he chooses.

Here's to lazy evenings, puzzles and audiobooks and socializing over the weekend, and maybe getting in some pool time between summer thunderstorms.  YAY AUGUST!

Five on Friday #185

EINS - Random Shit

-I had to go to Summerville to sign our taxes this week.  Just so happens that a Nothin' Bundt Cakes was on my way home.  I stopped in to get at least one "bundtlet" (a mini/personal size bundt cake) and I could smell the raspberry cakes they were cooking AND they had samples of it.. soooo I came home with a lemon and a white chocolate raspberry and I had ZERO RAGRATS.

-No new plans made on the German front yet.  Life this week included prioritizing lazy time and spending time with Teh German since his birthday was Tuesday.

-Thankfully, Teh German came home from work on Tuesday and had a change of heart about staying in.  We went to Famulari's at Cane Bay (which was a mistake since they really aren't that good, but it took us half the time to get there as our favorite location), then on the way home we stopped at Walmart for some things.  I pointed out to Teh German that when you enjoy looking through the home improvement section as part of your birthday "celebration" you really might be in your 30's.

-Yesterday I saw someone get t-boned because stopped traffic was letting someone turn left and the person in the right lane didn't realize since traffic was stopped and their lane was clear.  Thankfully, no one was in the passenger seat, but it definitely wasn't my favorite way to start the morning.  Also thankfully, there was an unmarked cop in traffic several cars back, so he heard the noise and flipped on the siren and lights and attended the scene.  Finally, thankfully, both cars were able to pull off into the McDonald's parking lot, so there was no traffic backup.

-It really it a poor life choice to tell yourself you'll get gas on your way into whatever you do in the AM.  And that's exactly what I did to myself.  So Thursday, I was already running late, I stopped to pick up breakfast because I hadn't properly planned, saw the accident, then still had to get gas, eat my breakfast, and make it to class on time.  Just in case, I messaged my professor on Slack to tell him I might be late.  I walked in a 0928, 2 minutes before class started.  #LikeABoss

-I, generally, look at my homework as soon as it is assigned.  I 100% definitely DO NOT wait to look at the homework until the night before or the day of and then proceed to ask the person who asked me 2+ weeks ago if I'd looked at the homework yet because they needed help, for help.  But that is exactly what 2 of my classmates did to me on Thursday morning.

Look here, Bro.  IDGAF about your inability to plan properly.  I wanted to do this fucking homework 2 weeks ago, but none of you fuckers took the time to even look at it to start to help me, so fuck you.  I did sit down with another classmate and worked on it a few days before it was due and we hammered it out with relative easy, assisting each other when we struggled.  It was delightful.  I was willing to do that with anyone, but noooo.  And then for one of the persons who asked me for help 3 hours before it was due got an attitude with me because I didn't help them... THEN he asked if I wanted to be his partner for the final project?  Uhhh, wut?  How about, FUCK NO.

-I was tagged in a FB post, asking if I was located near the area of the event in the post, which took place in Wake Forest, NC.  I explained that I live in Charleston, SC, not Raleigh.  Poster said they were confused.  I explained that I used to live in Raleigh, but no while we'd been friends.  No harm, no foul.  Then a 3rd party, with probable good intentions, chimed in, "Even those of us who live in the Carolinas get confused."  Ummm... speak fo' yo'self.  I do not get confused about these things.

-After more debacle and calls, mostly ME calling.. still nothing on the hot flashes prescription being free.  In fact, when I called the insurance prescription company this morning, I was informed there was no way that my prescription (Lo Loestrin) would be $0 cost.  That said, the customer service rep gave me a "correct" fax number for the doc to send a "PA" to...  after 2 calls to the doc this morning, the 2nd one when my nurse sent my call to her voicemail instead of speaking to me, I'm sure I'll be making calls for the rest of my fucking life about this garbage.  I REFUSE to pay $300 for a month of birth control pills.

Also, fun story from last weekend when I called the insurance company for this issue and the 1st time, I was speaking with someone who hung up on me and I was redirected to the main menu and had to start the process over.. then the 2nd person's "computer was updating, 'Can I call you back in 30 minutes?'" and they never called back.  So to say I'm over this shit is an understatement.  Add to the fact that my doc's nurse refuses to communicate with me in any way, responding to my emails, returning my calls, telling me to fuck off, I'm really struggling to maintain my "nice Megan" facade.

-Spring break is only ONE WEEK AWAY.  I only have to survive one more week of school and 1 midterm.  I can do this.  Then it's no school and Pittsburgh time to see Mumford & Sons.  Also, I have a ticket for sale if anyone is interested.  I know it's a long shot, but otherwise it's $100 wasted.

-I dislike being honest sometimes... Like when Teh German asked me this morning why I said something the way I did, not really because I said something in a particular way, but because he knows that something is going on and it's his way of asking what is wrong... and I admitted that I am irritated at him.  This is particularly douchey of me because 1- He had a long day and it wasn't that big of a deal, but it was to me.  2- I wasn't in the best of moods because I didn't get enough sleep.  3- We aren't going to see each other tonight.

Yesterday Teh German had to fly to NJ for a work meeting, so he was up at 0415 (which meant, so was I) then he left at 0445 (which meant he woke me up when he bumped me in the face to kiss me goodbye), then he got home at 9pm.  I was on the couch watching Grace and Frankie and I paused it to ask him how everything had went and we talked about his day for a bit.  Then he plopped down on the couch and I waited a few minutes, then un-paused my episode.  He didn't seem ready to go to bed, so we watched an episode of The Office, then it was bedtime.  The entire time, Teh German was on his phone, scrolling.  I knew he hadn't asked me about my day, but I also knew he had a long day and didn't want to put that on him.  Also, I always just blurt out everything.  I'm not the queen of mystery in anyway, so sometimes, it's nice to be asked about things, which, to me, expresses an interest.

By the time we went to bed, after laying in bed, more scrolling... I was pretty pissed.  I slept like shit.  So I admitted to Teh German I was irritated because he didn't bother to ask about my day after he got home.. instead, he spent time on his phone scrolling, which, I pointed out, was how he had spent the majority of his time at the airport.  There's nothing to be done for it after the fact, but I didn't even get an apology (not a surprise), so I'm in all kinds of feels and I hate it.  I also hate that he probably thinks I was trying to make him feel bad, which I wasn't, I was just trying to explain my feelings.  Considering Teh German doesn't tell me about his feelings, I shouldn't feel bad, since I am only assuming he feels bad.  IDK.  I'm tired of emotional constipation and having to hold it all together all the time.

I'm exhausted, Gentle Readers.  I'm emotionally and mentally drained..  I miss intimacy.  Not sex.  Intimacy.  And I also miss deep communication.  Not day to day dribble, but feelings and thoughts, communication of substance, which feeds into intimacy.

I'll end with this.
There's 2 hard things about marriage.
1- name change.  fuck that. don't ever do it.  Trust me.
2- Communication of substance.  It takes effort.  Effort is hard when day-to-day is hard.

ZWEI - Money Shit

-Chegg subscription.  Don't judge me.
-Vacuum filters for Roomy and the Shark.
-Groceries/house things
-Groupon for pizza since Teh German picked a place that had a Groupon for his birthday.
-Bojangles breakfast x2 this week.  That means 2 days of forgetting to thaw my breakfast sammich. Booooooooo/yay.
-2 bundt cakes from Nothin' Bundt Cakes
-Gas

DREI - From My Phone Shit

Teh German bought this "damaged" sign at the Beer Festival event.
I won't lie.  It's pretty cool.  Even if it's more than I would have paid.

The trifecta of perfect toilet:
seat up (unused), water blue (recently cleaned), automatic flushing.

The Cleaners left us a caterpillar surprise.
Definitely made me lol.

This keeps happening and my computer is barely a month old.
I should take it back, but faaaaccckkkkkkkk.

Look.  I used this fucking thing.  I still hate it.
I (over)steamed broccoli.

After being super frustrated regarding a printer situation that was resolved by simply resetting the router (after I'd been unsuccessfully troubleshooting for 45 minutes), this paper cut was the straw that broke the camel's back.

The next day... this happened.
Of course it fucked up the rings and now I have to buy a new binder.
Add to my rage list: .this.

CAN NOT.

FÜNF - Things that made me happy this week

  1. Teh German had to go on travel this week, but it was just a day trip, not an overnight trip.
  2. Nothin' Bundt Cakes and free samples.
  3. Completing the taxes stuff this year and the accountant billing me via Venmo.  Lawd, I love when people use technology.  Although, he totally could have used better emojis.
  4. Going out for Teh German's birthday.  He didn't want to celebrate over the weekend and I didn't really like that.
  5. The only homework I had to do this week during the evening was print something out.  Granted, that was more painful than the actual assignment....
  6. Finding shows on Netflix I want to watch.  One day.  When school is no longer in my life.
  7. Not getting a parking ticket when I was parked in a not-parking space.  I really hate when there are events on campus and normal shitty parking is even shittier.
  8. A $150 bonus for good work I've done for one of my projects.  I didn't know one of my PMs had put me up for it.  Apparently, he fought for 3 months to get it for me.  I was super appreciative.  Especially considering that it was in the same year that I got written up (for invalid reasons)...
  9. Not going to this gym after Monday.  My wrist was hurting from last week and Monday made my legs hurts and I have a half on Saturday.  Not going to the gym meant accomplishing other things and resting for my run.
  10. This song:

Happy Friday, Gentle Readers.
