Weekend Review {10/01}

FRIDAY

First test of the semester and I got a 78 with a 10 point curve.  Fantastic.  FML.  Also 48 points for matching terms to definitions really seems excessive when you are aware that if you mix up one you usually mix up another and that causes a loss of even more points.  Annnddd picking terms that are commonly confused?  You, sir, are an asshole.

German class, then work for the afternoon.  I left in time to make it to the gym, but fucking Waze rerouted me around traffic and I went right by my house and after sitting at a stop light for over 10 minutes, I ended up turning around and going home.  FUCK IT.

For dinner, we ended up going to Neighborhood Tap House with Teh PT Husband and Wife.  While the old men Husbands played shuffleboard, Teh PT Wife and I judged the shit out of the classy bar patrons.  We could tell when it hit 10pm, then 11pm.  There are just some places I shouldn't be after a certain hour.  That is one of them.  Like when your momma tells you, "Ain't nothing good that happens after (certain time)"?  She's exactly right.

Why would you get this as a tattoo?
Please help me understand.

Whew Nukes.
Killin' it with their sense of fashion.
Nothing screams, "just needed to cross the quarterdeck" like some of the outfits we saw.

After we closed out the tabs, we headed home and it was bedtime.

SATURDAY

Saturday was designated homework day.  I got up and released the hounds and had breakfast then sat in the office for 6 hours.  All the while, Teh German worked on the bobber bike.

All this efficiency.

I managed to get all my homework done with only one meltdown.  But, having talked to other students in the class this morning, I was not having an unreasonable meltdown.  The instructions for the project were incomplete and knowledge that was assumed was definitely not knowledge I had.

After homework, I took a nap.  Then I woke up and showered and got "fancy" for Teh PT Wife/Husband's Bourbon and Cigars event they were holding for the neighborhood.  I partook of neither bourbon or cigars and I had suggested we hookah, but we stayed inside and it didn't happen, which was fine.  I ended up leaving Teh German there and heading home by 11.

I wasn't asleep yet when Teh German arrived home, but I know it was after midnight when he arrived home since I was able to get my Duolingo credit for Saturday AND Sunday.. #LikeABoss.

SUNDAY

Sunday was miles day.  I refused to get out of the bed until Teh German got up to handle the dogs.  Since his announcement of our schedule that I never agreed to, I've made sure not to go above and beyond too often.  After the dogs has been extracted from the situation, I got up and got ready and headed out to do 9 miles.

10 miles later, I came home and cooled down and rehydrated.  Eventually, I headed upstairs and showered.  We met Teh PT Wife and Teh PT Kid at The Grill at Windmill Station for brunch.

They had scotch eggs.
NOOOMMM

After brunch.  Teh German and I headed to Sam's and Bilo to pick up grocery things, then back home.  Teh PT Wife and I hit up the last pool day of the season.

This was unenjoyable because:
1- I had a headache that I couldn't shake (which isn't abnormal when I do a lot of miles when it's more than 70°F outside)
2- Screaming children
3- #2 deterred me from taking the nap that I had wanted to take.
4- FUCKING LOVEBUGS
5- The scotch eggs decided that they wanted to be re-eaten and I had the worst indigestion.

After being at the pool for a few hours, we headed home.  I had planned on making spaghetti, but due to the indigestion I was already having, I didn't want anything acidic.  I really wanted some Olive Garden bread sticks and suggested we go there for dinner.  Teh German agreed and we put on "people" clothes and headed out.  There was a 45 minute wait because it's the stupid unlimited pasta bowl time right now and I didn't realize.  Instead, we ended up eating dinner at Sushi 101 because I was still going for something that wasn't very acidic and sushi seemed like a logical choice after bread sticks and alfredo sauce.

When we got back home, Meri had commandeered her own birthday treat, a half full gallon ziplock bag of peanut butter cookies from the island that I was supposed to bring to work.  Thankfully, she hadn't gotten into the 2nd bag she's drug down, which was full of chocolate oriented snacks.  This really just means that I didn't make her puke up her treats.  If she'd eaten the chocolate snacks, I'd have had to administer peroxide to make her puke it all up and that's unpleasant for everyone.

Asshole dog.

After 2 episodes of Shameless, which were super depressing, the weekend was over and we headed to bed.

______________________________________________

This week includes:
-homework (of course)
-running
-punching shit
-I have a company coming to clean the carpet and rugs on Thurs.  Hopefully this will get rid of the pee spots from PHIL on the runner.  (please, Sweet Baby Jesus, please).
-a group project on Thurs for my circuits class.
-2 tests on Friday
-evening classes on Friday (/rage) as hurricane make up days.
-scheduling a hair cut for shaggy dog.  I cannot take Meri's hair anymore.  Can't do it.  It's getting cut.

Also, for those of you who have enjoyed "fall" already.. I hate you, I want to be you.  I'm over this endless Charleston summer.  I'm sweaty and miserable and I want to wear long sleeves without being judged.  I want to go on a run before the sun comes up and NOT have to deal with elbow/eyelid/calf sweat before completing half a mile.  I'm over this shit, Leute.  (Leute = people)

I still really want some Olive Garden bread sticks dipped in alfredo sauce.  But I refuse to wait 45 minutes for dinner at a chain restaurant.  Charleston has made me a snob.  I've accepted this life.

Five on Friday #159

EINS - Random Shit

-I MADE A D IN CALCULUS 2!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Know what a D is?  PASSING.  A D means not having to retake a hell class.

I failed my CS class, which is kind of a disappointment, but I kind of don't care.
AND HERE'S WHY....
Since I took the CS class at CofC, it doesn't count towards my degree unless I have it transferred in, which I won't do, since I failed it.  That class isn't a pre-req for any of my classes that I'm taking in the fall (or in general, I believe), although it is a CS degree requirement.  I will retake it in the spring, having "reviewed" it.  I figure that passing one of 2 super hard classes on a compressed schedule is pretty good, so I'm giving myself a pass and I'm proud of myself.

-How about this for productive...
NOT ONLYYYYY did I post HM #3 post.. I alsooooooo:
~finished editing HM photos, so other than write ups, the honeymoon posts are practically duuuunn
~created the new Shit Teh German Says button AND generated at least 2 of those posts.  Turns out, I hadn't even shared the HM ones, which were hilarious.  This month will remedy that problem.
~Created a bonus HM post for the random photos that I took along the way that didn't really fit into the recaps.  Expect: silly shit and flesh tone pants (WHHHYY???)

Did anyone else think I was going to crash and burn on the honeymoon recaps after posting the 2nd post?  Just me?  Ya'll so nice.

-Yesterday, a coworker said to me, "I really missed you being in the office."  I won't lie.  It made me happy.  I missed being in the office.

-We/I made the decision to stay home this weekend rather than go to Raleigh to visit with Teh Advising Sister and I feel like turd, but I know she understands that I'm beat and I'd probably just want to nap the entire time.. and while that's not frowned upon, I could save myself the effort of driving 5 hours and her the effort of putting sheets on the guest bed, and we can just tell each other sweet dreams over a text.

-Company is hiring a tech writer for the position I was fired from.
Adult Megan is like: They need a tech writer, it's fine.
Petty Megan is like: I hope they hire someone that is garbage.
Paranoid Megan is like: I really hope this person doesn't replace me.

-We're watching The Ranch and Zach Brown Band - Colder Weather was played for a monumental event and I CANNOT STOP SINGING IT..  I'm getting on my own nerves.  Even after listening to other genres of music... I still keep singing that song.  ./wrist

-I JUST REALIZED that Rooster was also in That 70s Show, as was Berto and Abby's Mom.  HELL YEAH FOR RECOGNITION SKILLZ..

-Because it's never going to stop raining on the weekend, I suggested to Teh German on Wednesday that we skip the gym and ride Bagheera and Suzi to dinner.  We opted for Mex 1 on Sullivan's Island.  Every now and then I pull the #BestWifeEver card and flash it around.

-I made an impulse buy of a deodorant ball for my gym bag.  What they don't tell you is that deodorant might be able to withstand your body heat, but it cannot survive sitting in a car in Charleston for the entire day.  #LessonLearned #oops.

-Sometimes I have to remind myself that my name changed.  For instance, someone called me MG in a meeting and I'm like, "Who dat?  Oh shit, dat me."  Also, I went to sign a work poster and I signed Megan and then was about to sign MaidenName when I realized that's wrong now.  They hired Megan MaidenName, but Megan MarriedName works here now.  #LifeIsHard #NameChangeIsHarder

-I believe Teh German gets upset when he finds accounts still in my maiden name.  He's like, you should change all these places where your name is wrong.  Yes, yes I should.  But like a million different places have the name I had for THIRTY-TWO YEARSSSSS, so calm your tits, hombre.  It's not that important to me.  It's why I changed my name how I did.  I can claim BOTH last names as my name, in a pinch.

-More on that.  I used to really worry that changing my last name was going to feel like the loss of an identity.  It wasn't.  It isn't.  In fact, it's really more annoying than anything because I have to change everything over/remember what name I used for what.  Teh German has this annoying way of creating passwords related to what year it is and where he's at.  IDK, it seems annoying to me, but it's the only way I can keep up with my accounts.  Was this account set up PRE or POST marriage?  That's how I know what name is on the account.

-The plus side to not going to Raleigh is that I can keep my hairs did appointment.  I'm gonna do the purple again and hope for the best when I show up at the Citadel with purple hairs.  It was one thing over the summer when everything is relaxed and no one is in uniform.  Not sure the normal school year will be as flexible.  We shall see.

-Teh Dad and Teh Stepmom are coming to CHS to visit the weekend before school starts.  We're going paddle boarding/kayaking while they are here and I'm pumped.  Teh German and I will paddle board while Teh Dad and Teh Stepmom kayak.  I think I'm going to sign us up for a tour with a guide so we can actually get some knowledge dropped on us and the guide will probably be able to potentially lead us to the dolphins, which would be extra cool.  A guide costs a little more, but Teh German and I agreed it would be worth it.  Also, Teh German and I are paying a mabillionty dollhairs to go hang gliding with Teh Dad, so it's only fair. :)

-Teh German and I ran a toll booth (or 2) while we were in CA.  I recently received a "2nd notice" for one of the incidents when I KNEW I paid for when I got the original notice in June.  I called to inquire about the issue and turns out, the 2nd notice was for a different toll booth.  I explained I hadn't received a first notice and the rep saw that I'd already paid one violation so she offered to reduce it to $5.  You ain't gonna hear me complain about a $25 discount.  After ensuring there were no more violations I needed to take care of, I gave her my card info over the phone and the problem was resolved.

-Dear California,
Some of your tolls being card only or cash only is really annoying.  Get it together.  Either accept both everywhere or only one everywhere.  But this mishmash is obnoxious.
~Out-of-state Driver

-Everyone received a company 10 year anniversary shirt.  I never got mine, so I asked about it.  Coworker had put it on my chair on the day of the anniversary.  When I came into the office a few days later, there was no shirt.  BOOOOOO to the beeyoch who stole my free shirt!  #LaterGram: It was later found on A chair in a conference room.  Woot.

-I've been working on various Cricut projects and I just have to say... large projects are a PITA.  Small projects like single stickers/etc are fine.. but a large layout is complicated when you have a 12x12 limitation.  I'm going to be pissed if I find out that I could have just bought a longer mat and printed up to 18 inches.  Research done.  I could have used a 24" mat and saved myself a LOT of heartache.  FML.  #LessonLearnedTheHardWay

-My Cricut problem might be out of control.  I went from looking at mats to watching someone print their own stickers, to researching sticker paper, to researching laser printers so I can do all of that myself.  Now I NEEDS a laser printer.  Then I'd be UNSTOPPABLLLEEE!!!  I also would need to actually sell some of these creations so I can recoup some of the money I've spent on a "hobby".. and here I am judging Teh German for his motorcycle parts.

-If I committed to making things for you, fret not, they are in progress.  You know who you are.  My goal is to have them completed by this weekend and mailed out on Monday.

-2 assholes illegally passed me on my way to work.  I was going 38.. in a 30 MPH ZONE!  I have definitely been pulled over on that road before, so I know to keep it under control.  That said, there's a school on the road, which means that the cops don't bother sitting on the road during the summer.  /facepalm.  I almost want to call the non-emergency line to complain, but I don't want to be a tattle-tail.  Also, who the fuck is this old lady that has taken me over?

ZWEI - Money Shit

-Post semester massage.
-Target.. and considering I was unsupervised, I did good.  Or maybe I should say, since I wasn't enabled, I did guud.
-Groceries x like a millionty.  I needed supervision there.
-CA tolls.. /facepalm
-a new laptop for Teh German, not a necessity, but it was time.
-dog food (which always confuses me since it's on autoship)
-card stock for testing Cricut things.
-long sticky mats for the Cricut
-a book for Baby RM since I didn't particularly lurve any of the ones I bought for the baby shower... like lurve enough to leave a note in.

DREI - From My Phone Shit

Dogs, this is NOT how I left it.
You are both assholes.
You fit in perfectly.
FML/

Finally put my matching sticker on my water bottle.
Aaaaanddddd I'm going to create new stickers for us with a block text so they don't have pointy pieces that peel off.
#CricutLessons

This ultra-encouraging water bottle.
Apparently, the owner drinks TWO of those per day.
Uhh, that's a no for me.

10 confetti for Company's 10 year anniversary.
Someone sitting beside me in the meeting handing me a piece of confetti and said,
"You're a 10 in my book."
Much appreciated, coworker.

Cricutting all the things.
Also, wtf is that picture so yellow?
Strange.

Look at me looking cute and professional at work.

When you let your car drive you to work and you just hang on to the steering wheel so you don't make other people nervous.

What do you call a sleeping bull?
A bull-dozer

I couldn't possibly say no to this t-shirt from Old Navy.
#LadyPower

VIER - From the Internet Shit

A coworker introduced me to a comic called Coffee With Jesus.  There was much loling.

FÜNF - Things that made me happy this week

  1. Making comments like, "Yes, I'm extremely happy with a D.  Considering how shitty the entire month of July was for me, a D is fantastic," in front of the person who fired me from their project.  BURN, motherfucker, BURN.
  2. Work tasks.
  3. $25 fee being waved for toll running.
  4. Being back in the office.  I was feeling like a real slacker never coming into the office and there are sometimes fun things at work.. like free Cinnabon in the kitchen (that's a true example from this week).
  5. Dinner experiments that are delicious (lookin' at you chicken pot pie biscuits)
  6. Teh German's giddiness about his new laptop.  Particularly in the form of a video of Cortana talking to him.  He'd never experienced Cortana since I turn that skank off as soon as I open a new computer.
  7. Killing mosquitoes while they are in the act of sucking my blood.  Die, motherfucker, die.
  8. Neighbors who know that pawning off food when you go on vacation is completely acceptable.
  9. My rainbow hand wraps for the gym.
  10. My Berks.. I love/hate how comfortable they are.  They are the German version of crocs or Uggs or other socially unacceptable shoes.

Happy Friday, Gentle Readers.

Five on Friday #151

EINS - Random Shit

-My management gets me:

-Apparently the YouTube video in my solitary post while we were on vacation didn't post properly which kinda crushes me, but now it's fixed.  Ugh.

-Thanks Australian Nestle.. but let's not kid ourselves about if I'm going to eat this whole Kit Kat at once or not.

-If you are not Australian and go to visit Australia and you don't come home with a kangaroo testicle bottle opener, you're doing it wrong.

-I kept a daily "journal" of sorts of the activities we did on our honeymoon which means that there will be blog posts.  I'm also going through over 2000 photos, 500 of those being underwater photos, which require A LOT of editing to put the red back into the photos. #UnderwaterPhotographyProblems

I will say that I was shooting underwater with an action camera (aka a GoPro like camera, but an off brand), so my photos are definitely not DSLR quality.  The lesson I've taken away from this experience is that next time, I WILL rent photography gear or have my own because I know how I like to shoot and with a GoPro does not meet my needs.  I do not feel like taking pictures while diving deterred my enjoyment, quite the opposite because I was always hunting for cool things to take photos of.

-Our new AND FINAL range arrived yesterday and I'm satisfied.  Also, I don't care anymore.  I'm tired of fighting everything always, and as long as there were no obvious marks on the damn thing, it was staying.

-I teleworked on Tuesday and Wednesday because jet lag is a valid excuse.

-Teh German is going to his cigar event this weekend with Teh PT Husband and friends and Teh PT Wife and I have already planned brunch and dinner and a weekend without husbands.

-Mosquitoes that bite me THROUGH MY CLOTHING make me rationally angry.  See also: mosquitoes that HURT when they bite me.  It's one thing to make me itchy after the fact.  It's something completely different when I can feel it happening.  #DIEMOTHERFUCKERDIE

-The Caps won the Stanley Cup last night and it was EPIC.  We're not bandwagon fans, but we are new fans.  We have been Stingrays fans since we've been here, but after learning that the Stingrays feed to the Washington Capitals, I bought tickets at Thanksgiving for Teh German and I go to watch the game.  Since then, Teh German (and by default, I as well) have kept up with the Capitols.  Although at heart, I will always be a Carolina Hurricanes fan, the Caps are my #2 team since our local team feeds there.  Teh German was concerned during our overseas honeymoon about the potential to watch the playoff games (although we didn't actually not do things over watching the game, so he doesn't lose #BestHusbandEver points for that).  This is the 2nd time that hockey playoffs were potentially going to effect our vacation plans.. sooo that's a thing, lol.

-My Audible account was going to renew at the regular $150 a year price and I wasn't about to allow that to happen (since I had paid $99 for 12 credits) and I had 2 credits I had to use before my account renewed, so I purchased From Lukov With Love and The Alice Network.  Fingers crossed I made good life choices.

(I'm not linking these because I'm lazy, but here's a link to my Goodreads Lists)
My audiobook queue looks like this:
Every Note Played
War Storm
Us Against You
The Alice Network
From Lukov With Love

This doesn't include ebook/hard copies that I need to read:
Grave Mercy
What Happened (I have requested the audio version from the library and if it ever gets to me, I'll listen to it instead of read it since I've come to accept that I audiobook better than read books since I often need/want to be doing other things than just sitting on my ass flipping pages (i.e. cooking dinner, doing a puzzle, driving.. etc etc)
Beneath a Scarlet Sky

ZWEI - Money Shit

Honeymoon don't count.
I'll have something for this next week since we'll have been back at home for a week by then and my purchases will be reasonable.

BUT LET ME TELL YOU SOMETHING REAL QUICK.

There is a way, to set up Apple/Google Pay on your phone and THEN.. AND THENNNNNN....  you can just tap your unlocked phone on certain card readers and IT LETS YOU PAY.  IT'S LIKE MAGIC, GENTLE READERS!!!

I learned of this while we were in Australia, having to admit to every retailer where we used our *new* chip cards (which they've had since before 2012, FYI) that Americans live in the stone age of monetary technology.  We still had to sign our credit card slips like pigeons peasants.  Then I set up tap to pay and MY LIFE WAS CHANGED.  I wanted to pay for everything.  I'm sure Teh German didn't mind one bit.

I was concerned that I wasn't going to be able to use tap to pay when we got back to the US...
BUT I CAN.
AND I DO.
AND IT'S AWESOME!

DREI - From My Phone Shit

When you pack/hoard apple sauces and forget what you've done and then discover it later.

You see the depths of my heart and you love me the same.
I want this for our bedroom.  I've decided.

I think it was like a rich woman's "coat" but really it looked like a straight jacket.

I'm still perplexed by this.

When Husband gets you and starts talking to you through his sammich box since it "had" eyes, a mouth, and arms.
#BestHusbandEver

The cutest little check delivery plate at a cafe in Sydney where we had breakfast the first morning.

Dear China, I think this is too much.
No, I do not think.
This is definitely too much.

MORE OF THESE NEED TO BE EVERYWHERE!
I struggle constantly at school to fill my water bottle at the old shitty fountains where water barely spits out.
When I saw these at the airport and it even fit my new monster water bottle, I was in lust/love.

You can't read this, but it says Yolo County.
So Yolo is a real thing... real place.. whatever.

These were at our SF Air BnB.
I hadn't yet seen the succulents around town in SF.
Succulents like treeeessss!!!
There are photos, but they haven't been processed yet.

2018 life.  There's a hub in the middle of the table with multiple outlets.

There's been a random stain on the passenger door headliner that has been driving me crazy for over 6 months that I've had intentions to clean but I keep forgetting.  While Teh German was driving us home on Tuesday, I finally took the chance to "clean" it.  I haven't checked it since I wiped it off with water and scraped off whatever was on there with a flat object.  I assume that means it's good enough for government work because I haven't noticed it.

VIER - From the Internet Shit

I've been on a #LadyPower/#GirlPower/#WomanPower kick for a hot minute now and this commencement speech had me in tears because it spoke to me so strongly.  Be the wolf.

More on #LadyPower...
I'll eventually talk about this in a book review post that I'll eventually do (probably maybe), but if you haven't read Dear Madam President, DO IT.  Even if you weren't a Hillary supporter, this short book (2.5 hour audiobook) is a letter to the eventual first female president and discusses some of the issues that most women in leadership positions have probably encountered.  There is some discussion of why Hillary lost aimed towards "because she is a woman", there is talk of the author's personal struggles with her sister's death, but there are awesome messages that hit home about not hiding your feelings because being stoic is expected that hit home so hard that I was bawling at 30,000 feet in the air surrounded by strangers while flying from Sydney to Auckland and I wasn't even a little bit sorry.. although Teh German was pretty concerned about me.

Funny definitions of different country's flags.

FÜNF - Things that made me happy this week

  1. Being in America again.  I love traveling, but I also love knowing WTF is going on.
  2. Reuniting with Meri and Pax and Teh Running Bestie.
  3. OUR MOTHERFUCKING MIA SUITCASE finally being in my possession.  What a fucking saga that turned out to be.
  4. Photo editing and free trials of Adobe Premiere Pro.
  5. Listening to the Darth Vader breathing in our underwater videos.
  6. Sweet tea and cheese biscuits from Jim n Nick's to eat away frustration.
  7. Purposely calling someone to piss them off, even though I know Teh Running Bestie's work phone number changed.  #NotSorry
  8. Neighbors who ensured that our shit was taken care of while we were gone (Teh PT Wife, Roux's Humom, Home Police Department who did drive-bys every day).
  9. Good outcomes of Teh German's work meeting he's been dreading since he found out that it was imminent.
  10. TEH CLOUD (aka, our bed).

Happy Friday, Gentle Readers.

Five on Friday #129

EINS - Random Shit

-I wore my dress backwards on Tuesday because I liked the way it looked on me and my boobs weren't as exposed.  Fortunately, it was tagless and no one noticed.  #FashionPolice

-I initiated contact with both my wedding planner and DJ after the wedding to meet with both of them and both said they would get back to me.  Neither has.

-I registered for spring semester classes.  Next semester I have: Calculus 1, German 2, Computer Science 2, and Photoshop.  The calc class is 5 days a week @10 which is kind of annoying, but not overly and it's better than having to be at class at 0800 5 days a week.  Mostly, I'm just excited not to have 2 extra lab classes.

-I'm certain my wedding day post didn't go live like it was scheduled to (probably my own fault) so I backdated it because I do what I wawnt.

-Depressing is seeing your property tax double because they are taxing your house and land this year, unlike last year which was just the land.  Boo hiss.  #homeownershipwoes

-Sitting outside at work brings me great joy.  The No See Ums do not bring me great joy.

-10 days until I get to be with Teh Running Bestie again!  We seem to like to plan our visits of each other within short periods of time and then go long periods in between visits.  It's weird, but it works for us.

-YALL Fest is on Friday and Saturday.  I wanted to go downtown on Friday for the festival, but school is cockblocking me in multiple ways.  1- Classes are still being held despite it being Veteran's Day, 2- We have Hurricane Irma make up class from 1500-1800 on Friday evening.  3- Steve Bannon is going to be at The Citadel for a speaking/dinner event and protestors are already planning to protest.  I don't mind their protest, unless it gets me trapped on campus on a Friday night.  I'm kind of curious how The Citadel is planning to mitigate issues and I'm really hoping the gates will be closed except the main gain all day long with access only to those with visitor passes or Citadel identification.

We do have tickets to see Jason Segal speak on Saturday though.

-Also on Saturday we have: the Sweet Tea 10k in Summerville, downtown for Jason Segal, a dinner in North Charleston... and if I was super awesome, we could also go to the Stingrays game, but I'm just not sure I'll have it in me.

-Speaking of Stringrays, I've been encouraging Teh German to buy the ECHL ticket on the iPad so we can just watch all the games at home.  I know it's a copout, but I also know that we haven't really been to very many games since moving out of Shitty House since Haus is "so far" away from the coliseum.  I feel like $150 for the games is still cheaper than going to the games in person since I know that Teh German would watch the games if he was at home and we usually spend $40 on tickets, $40 on dinner, then at least $20 for Teh German's beer, plus $7 for my doughnuts... so really, we would end up saving money NOT going to the games.. and even if we were to go to a game in person, watching a majority of the games at home would be a wash.  If anyone is more stringent with money than me, it's Teh German....  unless it's for that stupid motorcycle.

-The Sweet Tea 10k is tomorrow and I'm super pumped.  We're going to walk/run.  Yes, WE.  Teh German committed to doing it with me "since it's only a 10k..."  Ugh, we're those people.  Have I trained?  NUPE.  I've done no physical activity besides walking the dogs and intermittent PT exercises.

-The Kiawah Half Marathon is in December and I'm excited for that too.  I'm planning on walk/running that one too.  I am hoping to at least get in some runs before Dec. 9th.  We'll see how that works out.... I run participate for medals.  I checked the website and I have 6 hours to finish the course.  I feel like I can accomplish that.  That's solid audiobook time.  I will be doing that race on my own.

-I miss Spotify lyrics.

-I had my name changed for my work email.  It almost motivates me to go get my named changed.  Almost.

ZWEI - Money things

I tallied up most of the money spent for the wedding.  Let's just not talk about that and live in denial for forever, mmmkay?

Other things I bought this week:
  • Dinner for company
  • Year's supply of allergy meds (thank Allah for generic Zyrtec)
  • Sudafed (I'm going to try and wean myself off, pray for me)
  • Gas
  • Water bill
  • Cookout Milkshake
  • Willie Jewell's gift certificates
  • Dog treats and clearance halloween toys for Pax and Meri
  • 2 new books from the book trailer, don't judge my weakness
  • Surprise appt for Teh Running Bestie
  • Lunch at Rutledge Cab Co since I didn't want to stay on campus.
  • Most of the remaining items on our wedding registry.
    • In my defense, most of the items on the registry were things I/we had been wanting for quite a while, but I was waiting until after the wedding since we assumed people would want to have options for gifts to buy.  Also, the 20% discount from Amazon didn't hurt my feelings.
  • McDonald's sweet tea
  • Chiro visit

DREI - things from my phone

Faack my dogs are cute.
And super well behaved.
And beg like mofos...

5 Disney wedding cards, 3 of which are the same.
Obviously, our guests know us well...

New knife and sausage.... DANGEERRRR

Part of Teh Sister's wedding gift to us was these awesome bride and groom dinosaurs.
Pax was pretty sure that the feather on the groom meant that they were edible.

Nov 2nd = matching Thanksgiving collars equipped.

What do you call crystal clear urine?

(I had to explain this one to a coworker and I was disappointed)

VIER - things from the internet

I think I need to watch some 90/00s movies over Christmas break to revel in the ridiculousness.

How to teach girls to set boundaries.  This also applies to women and people in general.

Story of my life right now.

Seems legit.

10 things that made me happy this week:
  1. Being called Wife/Mrs. G and all associated name change activities (mostly email related stuffs and work stuffs as I'm not doing the legal stuff until at least after the end of the Fall semester.  Although I'm considering putting it off until after our honeymoon so that way I don't have to change my passport before we go AND it's closer to my passport's expiration date of 2020.
  2. Finishing up a 45 hour long audiobook.  It was definitely a haul, but now I want to listen to the next books in the series (which is currently estimated to be 10 books, FML).  Also, I'd like to finish listening to Outlander at some point during my life.  Eventually, maybe.  #ReadingProblems
  3. Catching up on my Feedly... whew.
  4. Accidentally on purpose forgetting I had make up class on Thursday.  #YOLO
  5. Teh WJL's pictures from the wedding.
  6. Uploading said photos to Facebook for everyone to like.  I won't pretend like I don't get a moderate amount of validation from likes.
  7. My broken fingernail hanging on until yesterday, when I finally cut it off.  I had superglued it twice.  #classyAF
  8. Double dipping for class.  As in, there was a special event that I went to last night that got me extra credit in my computer science class and credit for something in my math class.  That's pretty much the ONLY reason I was willing to go to campus, near downtown, in the rain, on a not-class day.
  9. Registering for my spring classes.
  10. Accomplishing one week of marriage.

Happy Friday, Gentle Readers.
