Weekend Review {8/3}

FRIDAY

Friday was completely par for the course with the rest of the week (with the exception of the awesomeness that was Mrs. and Mr. Reflective being here).  I did finally sell the rowing machine, which means dollas in my pocketa, so muy bueno.  Mr. Scrooge and I had a communication breakdown which ended up getting pretty nasty.

Mrs. Reflective and I!

Also, I hate that smell triggers the strongest responses/memories.  When I walked into Mr. Scrooge's house (he was at work), my favorite air freshener thingy was the one that Mr. Scrooge had put in the febreeze wall thingy and I just.. if the week wasn't bad enough, dealing with feelz wasn't something I really needed.  I had a difficult time taking apart the rowing machine and the guy buying it was late showing up (because of yet another communication issue, and yes I considered that maybe it was me, but evidence to the contrary was present).  I also packed up some items that I had left in the freezer (homemade strawberry preserves are essentially liquid gold in Teh Family).

When I left, I also left the garage door opener on the counter.  This was the final thing for me.  I no longer have access to the house since I already gave Mr. Scrooge back my key and my master key doesn't work in his lock (I checked).  If I wasn't already dealing with enough from work, that hefty dose of feels was just overwhelming for me.  To the point that I started crying when I walked out of the house and didn't stop crying until I got to work... and it was an ugly cry.

I'm sure Mr. Scrooge thinks it was easy peasy for me to walk away, which is part of why he's difficult towards me sometimes, but there are days that the struggle is real.  I sat down at my desk to eat my lunch and Mr. Scrooge messaged me being a complete dick, which just set off a whole new wave.

Early Confession:
Until July 2015, I never really considered turning to other things to numb the pain/forget my problems.  #shareyourugly

In Yurtle was a bottle of sherbert vodka that I had taken from the freezer since I knew Mr. Scrooge would never drink it.  Ms. Boomkin had to talk me down from going out to the car to partake.  I confessed to her that I knew it was there and it was completely uncharacteristic of me, but I was having an unbearably terrible day and it was tempting me.  She told me to stay at my desk until it was time to go home and that he wasn't worth getting that upset about.  I told her I had to pee and she said to hold it.  Serious business.  Honestly though, I knew that if I got up I'd go to the car, so I listened.  I've never in my life ever wanted to escape my own brain/self that much.

Additionally, I'm that person at work that can make a dirty joke and say fuck in meetings and it's not awkward.  Me showing up at work with tear swollen eyes?  Awwwwkkkward.  My quadmates weren't even sure what to do.  Fortunately, they said nothing (best quadmates ever).  Having survived one of the longer hours of my life, I finally headed home and took a nap.

It was the easiest solution to my day.  It helped that the shoes I ordered on Tuesday arrived right before I left for dinner.

I decided to keep 2 pairs so I can alternate.
Hopefully these will be nice to my pieces.

I had a dinner date with UnsweetTeaMan (fka Drama Teacher), so I got up for that, but it was quick dinner since he's busy with several projects right now.  We were supposed to go out on Wednesday, but since Mrs and Mr. Reflective came in town, I had to push it.  I introduced UnsweetTeaMan to Willie Jewell's, which is delicious bbq.  He totally called me out on having the reaction to his ordering unsweet tea at sushi the week before, but he laughed and I explained that the nectar of life must be sweet, otherwise it's just... brown water.

After dinner, I decided to return some shoes to Kohl's that I've been meaning to return for MONTHS.  Yay for keeping the receipt.  Since I had store credit, I figured I'd just look around.  I scored a Chaps dress for $8, which rocked my world because it's very similar to my first day dress that I luuuurve.  Same cut, but different colors and short sleeves instead of long.

Middle one was the best deal!
The flower one has pockets.  WORTH IT.
And this hippy girl can't turn down blue ombre tye-dye.

My next stop was Dick's to return the reject shoes and to see if they would apply the coupon that I'd used in the store to the set of the shoes I was keeping.  They did.  I think I tricked them by accident since they prob aren't supposed to honor in store coupons for online purchases, but the manager had already said yes before she realized it was an online order.  In my defense, the recipt was laying ON the shoes, so she could have just looked and seen.

After I got home, I changed and took my new shoes on a break in run... of 8 miles.  Then it was a shower and bedtime.

Completely and utterly drenched in sweat.  #notsexy

Side note: I've been listening to The 100 Year Old Man Who Climbed Out the Window and Ran Away and it is absolute torture.  I'm so over it.  I've heard I should stick with it, but I'm almost 3 hours in (of ~10 hours) and I just don't know how much more I can take.  I just want the old man to die already so this book ends.  Opinions?

SATURDAY

Saturday was my designated sleep in day.  I got up at 0630 to feed the beasts, let them out, and as soon as they were done with business, it was time for after breakfast naps all around.  Ginger Beard and I had planned on an outing to the beach, but he had a work meeting in the AM, so I was waiting on his call.  Since I had shunned the dogs the night before, I took them on a walk because I said I would.  Of course, I was in the shower when he called.

We agreed that I'd meet him at his house and we'd head to Folly Beach from there.  As we left Charleston, we noticed it started to get cloudy.  We also noticed the massive wave of traffic that was leaving Folly as we were headed in the opposite direction.  Those same cars had on headlights and windshield wipers so I had a bad feeling about my beach trip.

When we arrived, it was still drizzling, but I hadn't had breakfast or lunch so we stopped at a place so I could get food.  After foods were eaten, we walked back to where we had parked and stopped by the crepe truck for a nutella, peanut butter, banana, and whipped cream crepe.  It was as delicious as it sounds.  Be jealous, sorry no pics, I was busy inhaling deliciousness.  When we got back to the car, we decided to head to Walmart to walk around for a bit to see if the rain would clear up since our weather apps weren't really predicting the weather very well.

After a bit at Walmart, which was really just me following Ginger Beard around since I had nothing I needed to get and me trying to stay awake (I felt like it might have been rude to ask to just stay in the car and take a nap), we went back outside to find that it wasn't raining!  So we headed back to the beach and chilled for a bit.  We eventually got in the water since we both had to pee.  After we got back out, we dried off for a bit, then decided to head back.

forever untanned!

As we got back to Charleston, it was completely clear and gorgeous out.  Grr..

My sunglasses were in my backpack, so I had to borrow some.
This, Gentle Readers, is why I do NOT wear aviators.  I just.. no.

We stopped by my house so I could feed the beasts, then went back to his house to shower and make/have dinner.  We took turns manning the grill while each other showered.  Go team.  After dinner we figured we'd watch some Netflix and I suggested Trailer Park Boys (TPB) since my Quadmates tried to peer pressure me into watching it a few months ago, but not having Netflix deterred me.  Essentially, it's a mockumentary of these Canadians who live in a trailer park.  It's exactly as classy as you're thinking.

We started on separate ends of the couch and slowly migrated to spoon mode.  At some point we both fell asleep.  Then, I was very rudely roused by gun shots/yelling on the tv.  I finally just got up and paused it and returned to my place.  At which point I was unable to get comfortable so I rolled over, which meant that we were face to face...

And Teh Dad reads Teh Blog, so I'm just gonna leave off there.  Sorry/you're welcome.

SUNDAY

Around 03 (yes, am), I woke up again because I was cold and because my stomach was hurting.  Not like a, "I need to fart and this will be better" hurt, but a "this is going to be a disaster" type of hurt.  I got up and got dressed and woke Ginger Beard to tell him I was leaving.. mostly so he wouldn't wake up at some point and I'd have vanished.. like a... hit and run (bahah).

When I got home, I let the dogs out and then proceeded to debate if I needed a trashcan on my lap while I was sitting on the toilet.. ya know, just in case.  It was that kind of stomach hurt.  I was able to let the dogs in and then got to return to my throne.  From 3-6, I was out of bed several times.  Finally by 6, I felt like the worst had passed.  Since I was up, I went ahead and fed the dogs.  Another after breakfast nap session went down because I was exhausted from shitty sleeps (not literally) and being up from 3-6 expelling my insides.  I wasn't happy about it, but I skipped church.  It was worth it though because I really needed some rest.  Ginger Beard confirmed that I was the only one struck by tummy problems and he pinpointed it to being the sandwich I had at the beach that he didn't have.

I had lunch with a stranger at Home Team BBQ.  It was a solid choice.  I probably would have been a bit more experimental had I not suffered from a bout of food poisoning less than 6 hours prior.  After, I suggested riding out to see Angel Oak, since he hadn't been.  When we arrived at 1250, they weren't open yet.. which I thought was kind of ridiculous since it's summer and tourist season and a Sunday.  That's the thing about old stuff, people want to see it.  So flex the hours in the summer and condense in the winter... Not so hard to me, but whatever.  We waited around for a bit and watched people drive down the dirt road, which was rather scary.

After the tree, I suggested riding down to Kiowah Island since neither of us had been there either.  We had originally discussed riding to Edisto, but that would have been a really long ride and I wasn't sure I was prepared for that after my bathroom adventures earlier.  Right as we got to Kiowah, it started raining.  Le siiiiigh.  Additionally, all the things on Kiowah Island are gated.  Good talk.  So we decided to turn around and head to Seabrook Island, which was the opposite direction.  Again, everything was gated.  It was still raining, but we ended up finding a cafe to stop at for some dessert.  The owner/manager offered to let us borrow her pass if we wanted to go back to Kiowah beach, but I was tired by that point and really just wanted to head towards home.  Especially since I knew we'd be hitting more rain on the way back.

After a bit, we finally got back on the bikes and headed back towards North Charleston.  I told him that I was going to head home and grab my car and head to the store.  Really, I just needed him not to tag along with me at the store since I knew the items I needed weren't company appropriate.  If you read the confessions on Wednesday, I just went to Walmart instead of ordering my items off Amazon.  Although Walmart had several economy sized options as well!  Fortunately, I was standing in the aisle wearing my motorcycle jacket and boots and holding my helmet, so people quickly looked at me and looked away since I apparently look like I'm going to kick your ass in my gear.  That's ok with me.  I also picked up more magic pills Pepto.

When I got home, I sent a text to Ginger Beard to see if he wanted to come over for dinner.  Well, I tried to send the text, he messaged me first to ask ME to come to dinner at HIS place.  He also needed some unpacking motivation and since my presence had worked for him on Saturday he was trying to replicate those efforts.  I agreed to dinner and headed over after finishing up some chores and feeding the beasts.

Ginger Beard admitted that he also invited me over because he didn't like cooking just for himself.  I admitted that I said yes because I really wasn't a huge fan of cooking and because.. company.  After dinner, we cleaned up and he started unpacking stuffs.  I had brought my Kindle to entertain me in case he preferred that I just stayed out of the way.  I read for a bit and then when I realized he was just bringing stuff up from the basement, he accepted my offer to help.

Around 8:30, I told Ginger Beard that it was almost my bedtime.  He suggested watching some TPB, and I agreed to 1-2 episodes.  After the 2nd episode, we turned it off and he walked me out.  I could tell that he was going to make a move but I dodged it like a ninja because I have no will power.  I knew that I'd get carried away and wouldn't make it home by a decent hour and it was a school night.

I sent Ginger Beard a text when I got home apologizing for my awkwardness (which he agreed I was completely being awkward) and explaining that I wasn't the best at holding back.  I'm an all or nothin' show.  I told him next time I was being awkward he needed to call me out on it or just stop me and make whatever move I was avoiding.

After finishing up some laundry, I finally headed to bed.  Nothing about Monday made me motivated to get out of bed this morning.. or motivated for very much of anything at all, thus this post at 9pm instead of 9am.  Seriously, this social life of mine is really cutting into my blogging time.  I'm going to have to get better at prioritizing.  #bloggerproblems

Additionally, I completely ignored my online dating acct all weekend.  I was getting messages but not responding.  Truthfully, I was busy.  Also, I didn't feel like it.  Most of the chat that I received are from guys who are just chatting with me.  It's kind of annoying really.  I don't want to be your online chat buddy.  Just ask me out already.  I could ask them out I guess, but I'm pretty much booked at this time, so I'm not overly concerned.

I haven't had any more creeptastic messages since Wednesday, which makes me sad and glad at the same time.

Thursday, October 2, 2014

just my style...

Halloween is a special time in my life.  Not because the abundance of candy (about which, I do not complain) or the creepy decorations or scary movies (which I hate).. it's about the COSTUMES.

Last year, I discovered these foam hat thingies that Target had.. they were sweeeetttttt.
This year, they didn't disappoint either.

Happy October!!!
PS.  I saved the best photo for last.  Delayed gratification, Gentle Readers, delayed gratification.

It's my special witch hat.

It matched my shirt.

Yarrr matey!

The clllllllaaaaaaawwwwwwwww(ssssss)

Captain Redbeard... yesss.

Teh MD Adult Roomie can't always be behind the camera.

New visual for "googly eyes"

Nomnomnom.

I may or may not have approached a random stranger in Target and asked her to take our photo.
In our defense, the Target employee who encouraged us was no where to be found,
otherwise, it would have been his job.

It's like the fairy from your nightmares, lol.

I personally have tried not to think about all the other people who have tried on these items and when I do, I think about how awesome they were when they tried this stuff on... not about the possibility of lice or skin conditions or any other gross body crap that could be contracted from this adventure.

Obliviousness is where it's at!

Music Monday #7 and Weekend Review {9/29}

Music Monday

can I decide another day?

I'm a pop music fangirl.  I can't help it.  I burned up plenty of rubber this weekend on the highways and the song that gets me every.single.time it comes on??  Boom Clap by Charlie XCX.  I wish I could fight it, but it's so catchy.  Teh Bear hated the fact that I loved pop music and now I don't have to worry about that anymore, BOOM BITCHES!

Let's get to the weekend, shall we?

FRIDAY

So on Thursday I went to medical for an appointment to take care of some nasty body crap and it didn't get taken care of I was referred to a specialist surgeon at the hospital who also wouldn't take care of my problem.  Instead, he distracted me with a shiny new allergist referral because he wants to see if/how allergic I am to penecillin.  I'm that kid.

Side story: Teh Sister is NOT allergic to penicillin and she was a pretty sickly kid.  When she would get the pink stuff that tasted like bubble gum, I'd sneak into the fridge and shake it up and lick the lid.  When I told Teh Mom when I was an adult, she got quite upset with me.  Oops, my bad.

Anyways, the surgeon was able to make a call and get me an appointment at the hospital in Bethesda on Friday.  I left a little bit early and traffic didn't end up being as bad as I anticipated so I had time for lunch  (sushi) and dessert (cannoli)!

nomnomnom!

At my appointment, I learned that since I had been taking my allergy meds (since it's freakin' allergy season and all) that they couldn't do allergy testing on me.  Good talk, glad I drove the 2 hours up here to STILL get no medical attention.  We did make a course of action though, so my drive up and back on Friday was practice for next Friday's drive up to actually get the tests.  Le siiiigh.  Oh military medicine, I hate you so much.

I came home and really wanted a nap from dealing with Friday DC rush hour traffic, but didn't have time.  Instead, I lived vicariously through the brown dogs.

Aren't they adorable "broken" dogs?

While we were getting ready to leave, I filled kongs with PB and I had the cutest audience.

I lubs dem.
I'm especially fond of that big white one, even with his stinky breafs.

After feeding the beasts, we headed to Teh MD Teenage Roomie's homecoming football game.  It turned out to be an absolutely gorgeous day.  I kept marveling at it the entire drive to and from DC and then got to be in awe again as we watched the game.

Lub wispy clouds.

It eventually got chilly enough for my hoodie, woot!!!
Minnie is back out.

We got to watch the marching band and it was super awesome and nostalgic for me (and Teh Worldwide Jesus Lover).

Despite eating at the game, we were all still hungry afterwards.  So we headed to Olive Garden because I really wanted the summer dessert (panna cotta) that I'd had with Mr. Mystery when he came to visit over Labor Day weekend.  Sadly, it was seasonal and since Fall started Monday, they were out.  DISLIKE.

Fortunately, I pinned some recipes to make it, so maybe one SC day I'll accomplish that deliciousness.

This classy lady (in blue) was wearing her napkin over her shirt.. for their entire meal.
Oh SoMD, I'll miss you.

We came home and got doggy snuggles and started smelling something and before I could even look down, I realized it was Phil's breath.. I was right:

It's good that I love him unconditionally....
He has really started being a dick lately with the garbage spelunking and his atrocious breaths.

SATURDAY

Gentle Readers I need to tell you a secret.  If you know me IRL, you may already know this, but I'm going to remind you.  I don't do math.  It's just better that way, for everyone.  I took ZERO maths in college because I had completed all my math requirements for college in high school.  I have a Bachelor of Arts.  I use an app to calculate tips.  It's just not my jam.  So Friday night, when I was trying to figure out when I should leave to make it to PA to hang out with my Raleigh Roomies, I did the math backwards and left an hour later than I should have.  Ooops.

They decided to love me anyways.  I arrived at their PA house a little after one and we hung out and had pizza and I played games with the girls.  I hadn't seen their youngest daughter and the last time I'd seen their oldest daughter, she was less than a year old.  They work at a place with an art gallery on the "campus" so they took me by there so I could see all the awesome art they get to hang out with every day of the week.  (Yes, I'm jealous.)

Faces of Buddha made from NYC telephone books.

The center Buddha.
The artist was too poor to buy wood to carve, so he used phone books instead.  I think it's awesome.

This "hive" was above the elevator and it was made of pipe cleaners and beads.

This book sculpture was of "super woman" aka a naked lady with hard nips dangling from the ceiling.

In the shark tank, the recycled tire shark tried to eat my head.

But then I acted normal.
The ladies!

Hold on, I need a selfie!!
I love them, they are so great, the littlest one kept saying "CHEEEESE" when we'd tell her it was photo time.

After our tour, we went to a relative's house for Rosh Hashana dinner.  Everything was delicious and it was awesome to get to meet more family members of my Raleigh Roomies.  I had met their parents back in 2007, but it was great to be included in something like that.

Side story: I used to (ok and still do) call the Raleigh Roomies Mom and Dad because they took care of me (and Adolescent ZepZep) for my last semester of college.  They believed that I played too much World of Warcraft and didn't hang out with the family enough, so we had designated meal days.

After dinner and socializing, we finally headed home and the girls had passed out in the car.  That didn't stop us from having a fire (mostly so I could toast marshmallows, I won't even pretend).  Also, I honed my toasting kills on square marshmallows.  Don't worry, my perfect marshmallow toasting skill is still on point.  Around midnight, the flames were out, so we called it and headed to bed.

I only need marshmallows, not smores... this time.

These were the decorative pillows on the guest bed.  I counted.
Total number of pillows: 9 (+1 (mine)) = 10.
Total number of pillows I used: 1 (mine).
The Raleigh Roomie Wife and Teh MD Adult Roomie apparently are the same person with the similar taste in rugs and the same opinion on decorative pillows.**

SUNDAY

First thing Sunday morning was breakfast and games with the girls, then it was church time.  The Raleigh Roomies go to a mega-church.  The service was a legit "production."  As in, there was dry ice and it was concert loud.  I had to take a photo because I found it amusing considering that many people at my church think that our contemporary service (that I attend) is a "production" because of the worship band.  Not.even.close.  OMG.  It was an interesting experience.  Pretty much the opposite (and kinda the same) of that one time Teh Worldwide Jesus Lover brought me to Tupper Baptist Memorial (an African-American Baptist church founded in the early 1900s, all of those significant details she failed to inform this Podunk-born-Catholic-all-her-life-girl about (she will never live this down and I like to bring it up as often as possible)).

After church, I met Mr. Voices and Mrs. Boomkin at the mall for lunch so we could hang out one last time before I headed south for the winter.  I couldn't be so close to them (and my Godson) and not get to see them!

The mall with the most retail space in America.
Yay dollas spendin'!

Mrs. Boomkin and I took some ridiculous selfies.  WINNING.

We hit up a few stores and then Mr. Voices and Mrs. Boomkin needed to leave to get back home.  Sad that we only had a little time, we hugged it out.  I, then, headed back into depths of the mall to do some (much needed) shoe shopping.  I ended up getting 4 pairs of shoes for under $100, getting trapped in JCPenney, and eventually made it out alive.

The drive back to MD wasn't as bad as it could have been, which I was thankful for.  I came home and Teh MD Roomies and I had dinner and we did puzzle and chores and wrote blogs (ok, I wrote this blog, we did things).

It still hasn't hit me that I'm only in MD for one more week.  This is the first duty station that I've actually not been ready to leave.  There is a countdown, but only for the acknowledgement of how many days I have left to accomplish necessary tasks.. like checking-out at work.  There are irritating things about SoMD, like the lack of decent shopping facilities (#firstworldproblems) and the very tight-knit/small communities that are sometimes hard to break into, but overall, it hasn't been the worst place ever.  I met awesome people who I'm not ready to leave yet and I'm not going to be ready in a week when I drive away with the rest of my crap in suitcases (I'm leaving the dogs since we're going on the cruise and I'll be retrieving them at a later date).

Fortunately, I know that Teh MD Roomies will be here or at least be contactable.  I know that my greyhound/sighthound groupies would definitely be willing to grab lunch if I happened to be in the area down the road.  I know that these relationships don't end just because I'm relocating.  That doesn't make it any easier to wrap my head around.

Is there an acceptable grieving period for transitioning?  I kid, I kid.. kinda..  Also, I still need a SC job.  Lee siiiiigh.

**PS.  I hate decorative pillows.  We have 4 pillows on the bed in SC.  2 for Mr. Mystery and 2 for me.

Humpday Confessions #22

Thank Allah it's already Wednesday.  Working for an entire week might kill me.

Vodka and Soda

Confessions:

-I don't care if you're driving a smart car or an 18-wheeler, if you cut me off, I will yell at your jackassery.  Just no.

-I love Yurtle's automatic headlights feature.  It's one of the most amazing things ever.  Except for when it's raining during the daytime.  Yurtle doesn't register that being dark enough to turn on the headlights so I have to do it for her, which is fine.  I can't let every first world problem hold me back... but for the love of all that is holy, if it's actually raining, TURN ON YOUR DAMN HEADLIGHTS SO OTHER PEOPLE CAN SEE YOU!!!  Your day lamps don't do me any good if I'm behind you and can't see your vehicle until you slam on your brakes and your tail lights finally come on because it's raining so heavily.

-And since I'm on the subject, when people don't use signal lights, I get infuriated, but we already talked about my signal light obsession.

-Western states are better than eastern states because on their interstate signs, they have the name of the state you are in rather than just "interstate."  Siiiiigh.  Not that I didn't know what state I was in at any point, just principle.

-This is unacceptable:

If that font is too small for you, let me just explain what that picture is of...  A hospital in the area congratulated me on my pregnancy.  The funniest part of this was when Teh MD Adult Roomie comes in my room and holds this up and says, "Is there's something you need to tell me?"  I was sure it was going to be addressed to "Current Resident," 100% certain.. Oh, no no.. It was addressed to ME.  MEGAN - ------.  WHAT?  Oh hell no.  The creepy part is that I've never even gone to this hospital ever.

Oh yeah, and if you need to be told, I'm NOT pregnant.  Guarded until mid-2017 from babies.  Thank you Mirena for your magics.

-I've been reading confessions 5 days late and commenting.  Better late than never right?  (I guess that statement could also apply to the above confession as well...)

-Being ridiculous in public is my forte.  I just can't stop myself.

-I'm super sad I didn't buy my half marathon photos, but for $40 for a single digital photo or $50 for 3, I just couldn't do it.  The dogs need to eat.

-I hurt so bad after my half marathon that I'll probably never do another one unless I have another blindingly crazy moment and sign up for another one (like say, a Disney run, because duh).  I think my max run distance should just be 10 miles.  There's something about those extra 3 miles that just beat the shit out of me.  Probably something related to the fact that calories burn exponentially after you are working out for a certain time, or I heard that once and choose to believe it, don't judge me.

-A blogger that used to link up with Confessions but NEVER posted confessions linked up on another linkup I do (that just got tricky, thanks for keeping up with me on that one) and I clicked to see if she posted anything relevant to that link up (because I'm a judging judger) and she did, but she also posted a list of runs in Charleston and now I kinda want to be her BFF even though I still judge the shit out of her for that whole linking up but not having confessions thing.

-Our Rita's (an ice cream place that sells gelato and frozen ice) closed on 9/14 and now all I freakin' want is Rita's.  #firstworldproblems  It's probably good they closed early, the main dude that worked there was a total prick this year and probably should have hired more employees to help him out instead of being there 7 days a week and being a Mr. Bitter Pants.  When I come to get ice cream, I want to be cheered up, not brought down.

-I'm over the NFL.  As if it wasn't painful enough to me that it's football season (again, ugh), now the NFL is in the news every where, and by "news" I mean on my FB "trending" feed on the right side of my screen that I can't get rid of, and in my regular news feed because I'm friends with a whole bunch of people who don't understand how stupid football is.  I think my dislike comes from ridiculous hype that people get into over sports.  It's similar to how I refused to read Twilight and Harry Potter when they first came out.  I just don't want to be involved in that kind of hype.  Same with the World Cup or football or anything else.  Also, I'm from North Carolina and we have the Carolina Panthers and I'm not sure we've ever won a super bowl or anything, so essentially "my team" sucks.  At least the Carolina Hurricanes (hockey) have won a Stanley Cup before (even if it was 11 years ago, it still counts).

-I saw someone wearing their fleece into work on Tuesday and I judged the shit out of them.  It's not cold enough for that, hang that shit back in your closet and man up until it is colder than mid-to-high-40s.  Granted, it was pretty chilly Monday morning, but still.  Suck it up.

-I don't get boots.  I've never even wanted to own a pair.  Now that I've been wearing them for 6 years, I care even less about them.  I keep seeing bloggers post about wanting boots and I'm over here like, "I got some scuffed up, broken in, with steel toes ones you have have.  Owned since 2009, worn since 2012."

-I feel so cliche when I go to BuzzFeed's website, usually via something I've clicked on from my FB feed.

-Mr. Mystery's stuff arrives from Japan this week and I've already told him that when I arrive in October, I have things to do (watch the final season of HIMYM on Netflix to be exact (ugh, and apply for jobs)), so ain't nobody got time to do his unpackin' for him.

-The above confession was fueled by the fact that when I went to SC last week, it was like stepping in a time warp.  Every thing was almost exactly like it was when I left it.  While I agree with Mr. Mystery on the fact that waiting until everything was there was a better idea than just decorating with only my stuff, he probably could have found a new home for it besides the dining room table.  He gets a pass on not washing the extra linens in the spare bathtub because my exact words were, "If you want, you could wash the linens in the bathtub."  He didn't want to, fine with me.

-I put in a job application at Target which depressed me.  I really don't want to have to work retail again.  I want to be able to get a job that relates to my experience.  Granted, I really liked working at Target, but I worked in the backroom and didn't have to deal with assholes "Guests."  Their website was so jacked up that I could only manage to get in an application for one position because I was too frustrated to keep dealing with it for something that I didn't really want to do.

-Trying to change the utilities from my name to Teh MD Adult Roomie's name is difficult and way more painful than it should be.  A new person wants to give a company money, why do they make it so hard?!

-The incompetence of others really pains me.

-I have considered giving up my blog coordinator position for the greyhound group in MD since I'm moving to SC.  But I'm selfish and I am afraid the next person won't put as much effort into it as I do, so I'm hesitant to relinquish my job.  And it's easy volunteer work and it doesn't really take that long.  But ugh commitment is hard.

-The power was out for about 15 minutes yesterday at work and apparently all the battery backups for the computers are DEAD so all the computer powered off.  When the power was restored, the computers stayed off.  2 of the ITs came into the office to use the computers and sat down at the desk and jiggle the mouse and waited.  I wasn't going to tell them the computers were off, I was just going to wait and see if they realized.  Fortunately, they figured it out fairly quickly, otherwise, my torment was going to be never ending.

-Also, I can't handle emotional retardation.  It's a thing.  I say so.

-I scheduled my going away lunch and tried to schedule my meetings with the CO, XO, and CMC.  I'm ready to GTFO of the Navy.
