Weekend Review {12/26}

FRIDAY

I worked from home on Friday since the majority of the office was doing the same thing.  I'm sure my coworkers were able to be much more productive than I was.  In between being accosted by the 4 dogs in the house and yelling no at them when they'd start barking because our wonderful neighbors left their dogs outside ALL DAY to bark at everything that passed by, not much was really accomplished.

Nonetheless, I had my hours by lunch time and decided that since it was #treatyoself weekend, that I'd start it off with a bubble bath.  #noregrets

I had a hair appointment scheduled for 3 on Friday, so after my midday bubble bath, I passed the time somehow until it was time to leave.

My hair appointment took a few hours because I had some color added.  The blah blah brown was getting to me and I needed something fun.  I really like it, but I was going for something a little more... "fun"?  Yeah, fun.  But it's a good smooth transition into something a little more fun next time.

Teh PT Fam had agreed to go to the Stingrays game with us that night, so we met at the Coliseum for the game.  Teh PT Kid is now a hockey lover, which brings me great joy.

After the super shitty game (because the refs), the men bitched out on looking at Christmas lights and went home to smoke cigar while Teh PT Wife, Teh PT Kid, and I went on a food adventure and to look at Christmas lights.

I say food adventure because after sitting in 3 different drive thrus for no less than 40 minutes total, we finally pulled into a Denny's and had quicker service at Denny's than our entire waiting time at the fast food places we had tried to eat at.  When we finally got to Park Circle to see the lights, we ended up driving around the circle super slow our with the hazard lights on.

When we eventually made it home, Max refused to go inside and get warm and opted to snuggle with me over Teh German, which was odd.  Nonetheless, some epic selfies were acquired.

We were all tired and we called it a night around midnight.

SATURDAY - Christmas Eve Eve

It was a slow start to the day with nothing planned in the AM.  I started off with some puzzling.  I almost lost my shit when the neighbor's dogs who were, again, tethered outside, started barking at me because they could see me through the dining room window.  Ya'll.  That's my hard limit.  I was struggling with your dogs being outside ALL FUCKING DAY LONG barking at everything the day before, but if your dog starts barking at me when I'm in my house, I WILL KNOCK ON YOUR DOOR.  I will NOT deal with that bullshit.  Nope, nope, nope.

After breakfast, everyone was upstairs and Pax was being the most adorable so I snuggled with him for a bit.

I then laid down and took a real nap until it was time for my spa session at 3:30.  I was scheduled to get an hour and a half massage, to include a foot "refresh" and I added on a 30 minute head massage.

Let's talk about things I won't do again: Go back to that spa.
The spa wasn't bad, but the massage was mediocre and for what I was paying?  Nope.  The head massage was mostly her putting coconut oil on my hair and tangling/pulling my hair.  She also added a "free" mask since I was so congested, which conveniently took up a significant portion of my head massage time, as well as her getting all the ingredients.  When she was doing my massage, she kept trying to work out my shoulder knots which I'm pretty sure are permanent.  Yeah, I was SUPER sore by bedtime.

I didn't get a post-massage picture of my hair, but I kinda looked like Medusa.

After I got home, Teh German asked me if I wanted to go to a bonfire with Teh PT Fam.  I said that was ok and we headed to Summerville to make friends.  We stopped by Carolina Ale House to pick up dinner to go and then headed to the fire.  It was fun.  I showed off my marshmallow toasting master skills, several people were introduced to smores with Reese Cups instead of plain chocolate, and there was singing.

We headed home at a decent hour since Teh PT Family had to get up early on Sunday for church.

SUNDAY - Christmas Eve

Teh PT Wife and Husband made their debut at their church's Christmas play and we went to see them.  Roux's Humom and Mr. Golfer also came.  Teh German doesn't do church, but no one burst into flamed when we went in the building.

GLCK parking.

Husband and Wife selfie!

Festive stage

The play was very good, as was the sermon.  I enjoyed the music as well, which Teh PT Wife had told me I would.  She gets me.

After church, we headed to Michael's to pick up some crafting stuff for Teh German and then we headed to brunch at Crackle Barrel with Mr. Golfer and Roux's Humom.

After brunch, Teh German and I made, what I expected to be a poor life choice, a pit stop at Walmart to pick up a few items.  We were in and out in 20 minutes!  We happened to find a register open with no one at it!  Mind = blown.  It was obviously the 2017 Christmas miracle.

When we got home, Teh German started working on his project while I headed upstairs to nap.  I love naps.  Teh PT Family was hosting a Fishy Feast (or something Italian about fish and Christmas?  IDK) and we headed over around 4 for dinner.

Tom-fecta

The food and company was great.  We ended the night with smoking hour and then finally headed home for bed.

MONDAY - Christmas!

We had a slow start to Christmas day, which was perfect.  Well, kinda.  We had a Skype date with Papa G at 0900, so we set an alarm to get up in time.  I had made some pretty spectacularly horrible coffee on Sunday morning, so I waited for Teh German to come down to make the coffee.  After we Skyped with the Germans, we agreed on a breakfast plan.  Teh German makes the bacon better than me, so he's in charge of that, and after he flips it over, I start the eggs.  I also had a can of biscuits in the fridge that didn't get cooked from chicken and dumplins earlier in the week, so we added those to the menu as well.

Breakfast

The beasts.

Scrooge, I mean Teh German, hadn't wrapped my presents until after he started cooking the bacon.  Here to hoping that next year he can assimilate to American culture and at least get something under the tree for me by Christmas Eve....

Can we be impressed with his ability to tie a bow out of wrapping paper?

I surprised Teh German with a new robe and a new Stingrays shirt that he had wanted when we went to the sale over the summer, except we/I wasn't willing to wait in line for a single t-shirt that was regular price.

Those are sheep.
I could have gotten him a boring plaid one, but no.

The bottom earrings are my Christmas/wedding presents from Teh German.
Rose gold earrings to match my wedding band.

He also ordered my planner that I wanted.  No surprises.  There's always next year.  After cleaning up, we marathon-ed Mad Men until it was time to become publicly presentable.

Because our neighbors were feeling super sorry for us because we didn't have anything planned on Christmas day besides laziness, we were invited to Roux's house for Christmas dinner.  Then we migrated with the GLCK to another neighbor's house for dessert.

By 10pm, I was exhausted and we finally headed home.  After reading for 20 minutes, it was lights out and Christmas was over.

______________________________________________

It was a super awesome lazy holiday.  It was nice to be on our own schedule and not have to travel back home.  I was able to take unlimited naps, which is always the best.  I was mostly unproductive, which was also awesome.  I'm working from home today, but tomorrow is back to normal.  Teh German is off all week, which I'm pretty jealous of.... butttt next weekend should be another lazy weekend and I'm already ready for it.  ALL THE NAPS!

This week you can look forward to the 2nd installment of wedding photos and I'll probably have a Friday post, as long as nothing wacky happens.

I hope all my Gentle Readers had a great weekend/Christmas/holiday celebration/whatever you did was good.

PS.  No I did not watch Star Wars.  Teh German mentioned going to watch it and then laughed at himself.  At least he knows.
PPS.  I DID order the entire Wrinkle in Time quintet since I've never actually read it.  The only L'engle book I've read was A Ring of Endless Light, which I discovered today is actually in the middle of that series.  Womp womp.  I'm considering reading that series as well, but after I finish A Wrinkle in TimeThe real push is that the movie is coming out and it looks like something I may be interested in seeing in theaters.  We'll see.  School will be back in session by then...

Wednesday Dump {8/9}

-If you ask in a bride group on Facebook how to obtain a marriage license, you probably should reconsider getting married.  Maybe I'm just too smart for my own good.  How is some knowledge intrinsic to some but incomprehensible to others?  #IJustDontGetIt

-After the crazy amount of spending I did in July, I have an add-on item in my Amazon cart and I don't have anything else to add to reach the $25 minimum for the add on item.  While I'm happy about this, I'm also frustrated.  #MeganProblems #ThanksAmazon

-I'm an idiot.  I didn't put my next book on hold because it was available from the library.  It was available on Sunday night, so I figured I would download it on Monday, nbd.  Yeah, someone had checked it out on Monday and so I'm like, wtf am I doing with my life while I wait on library books?

-I don't remember who it was that said it recently, but a blogger I follow commented about how they hate when books use the movie poster as the cover of the book.  YAAASSSSSSS, I'm with you, Lady!

-I've made it a goal this week to spend 10-15 minutes practicing our dance moves that we know.  I'm hoping this will make Teh German more confident on Friday night and we can make more progress.  Ya know, you get back what you put into things. #LifeLessonsByMegan

-I'm considering making homemade laundry soap.  The homemade shower spray I made did not make me happy.  If I can obtain all the ingredients/materials for under $20 then I will try it.  I hope I haven't been peer pressured into a(nother) poor life choice.  #TryingNewThingsIsHard

-Monday night, Teh German was home way before me so he cooked our veggie since the meat was already done in the crockpot.  Since he was being extra nice, I made a pit stop on my way home to pick up beer for him.  #BestFianceEver

-Several Gentle Readers commented yesterday about how my review of Beartown made them bump it up on their TBR list.  #YoureWelcome #WorthIt

-I started using my personal laptop at work.  #notsorry #rainbowkeyboard4lyfe

-How not to be a twat-waffle on Facebook Marketplace.
1. If someone asks you a question, RESPOND TO THEM.
2. Don't play hard to get.  I just want these things out of my house, not woo you.
3. I assume if you ask me if an item is available you are interested.  Don't leave me hanging.
4. If you are no longer interested after contacting someone, TELL THEM.

-I am taking it very hard when I am told no to things regarding the wedding.  From RSVPs to people not wanting to do things that I'm trying to plan.  For instance, Teh German's Mom is a runner, so I thought it would be cool if she did the 10k with us since she's going to be in town.  She said no thanks because she's already scheduled events with her sister and BIL, who will also be in town.  Teh German pointed out that this is good since they will be keeping themselves entertained.  I countered and explained that my time to hang out is extremely limited due to work and school and when I offer the chance to hang out, that is MY chance to hang out.  I don't know know why I'm so easily upset by this.

-Sometimes we have family sing alongs.  They bring me so much joy.

-Why in the shit is it still a thing to put tags on the waistband of pants?  All those things do it scratch up my back.  It's like they want to force me to wear an undershirt or something.  Rude.  I've had these pants for almost 2 years (I bought them after Teh German and I started dating) and I didn't wear them for almost a year (because fatty) and now I can fit in them again (hooray surgery/wedding diet!) and I was irritated (physically and mentally) because of these stupid tags.  After all day of dealing with it, I removed those tags.  #TAKETHAT

-Some of you may have seen my post yesterday about finding a mobile bookstore but if you didn't, yesterday I accidentally stumbled on a mobile bookstore and it was awwweeesssoommmmeeee.  Granted, they only had new books, which meant paying full price which I didn't totally love, but they were right across the street from my work AND there was a "guard" Corgi who let me love on her AND they were parked at the coffee shop right across from my office so I didn't even break a Charleston sweat getting there.  I considered my purchases as #supportlocal buys sooo yeah.  I also may have been caught up in the SUYB excitement since it was SUYB linkup day.  #notsorry  PS.  I'm going to be pissed if Ramona Blue and Words in Deep Blue are disappointing since I paid $17.99 each.  It was also raining yesterday so the theme of the day was like everyone's favorite Eifle 65 song (Blue, if you didn't get that reference).  I'll be diving into these books as soon as I finish with my challenge books.

-The library finally sent Bonk and South of Broad (in ebook and audio formats) back to me, so I'll be finishing up those suckers in the next 2 weeks.  I feel like Bonk is going to be one of those books that will be a slog to get through.  If it gets worse than manual animal stimulation/masturbation, it's going to be DNF town for this book.  I just have to put my foot down somewhere.  Or maybe I'll just skim through those sections?  IDK, I need to have a limit.

-It's been a super rainy summer and I'm loving it.  I'm not digging the headaches that come along with it, but I seriously love the rain.  #Intheminority

-I started this new thing with Teh German where I tell him one reason why I loved him for the day right before we go to sleep.  He is required to reciprocate.  I'm hoping I can keep this going for a while.  #FormingHabits

-I left the gas station yesterday without getting gas and without closing my tank.  I had to stop and close it and I was super frustrated.  That's what getting stuck in Charleston rain traffic, being stopped by the same train TWICE, and then being told that I have to see the cashier when trying to pump gas (what is this, 1992?) will do to my brain.

-I've noticed a several comments on the BAB FB page saying that their website isn't viewable on mobile devices.  This is applicable because I shared the links to a few posts that I wrote about the wedding on the cIdad FB page yesterday.  It annoys me that this is actually a problem, but from what I've read, they are troubleshooting it.  They don't seem to be making much headway though since it's been a problem for several weeks now.  I'm as disappointed as everyone else.  Their suggestion is to view it from a desktop/laptop.  My suggestion is to maybe use a Chrome browser on your phone and request the desktop version of the site.  It loads for me, but I am using an android.  #TechnologyIsHard #2017Problems

-I do believe that Teh German likes wearing his silicone wedding band for more than just "getting used to wearing a ring" and that doesn't hurt my heart one bit.  I'm hoping he will order his ring by the end of this week since he's been in contact with company that makes the ring he likes.  #MegMo2017

Confessions {4/22}

-Artists finally getting behind the lyric video trend makes me extremely happy.  I hate giving play counts to hotmama62 when I watched their homemade lyric videos.  #IhumwhenIdontknowthewords

-Often times when I get home from my runs, Mr. Scrooge isn't home yet.  This is only significant because that means I put the dogs out, prepare doggy dinners, then go jump in the shower for concert time.  Since we have a stall shower, everything reverberates and it's so loud and awesome and concert-like and I don't have to worry about Mr. Scrooge's judgement when I don't know all the words and I just mumble through the sounds.  #showerconcerts

-I get lots of satisfaction on paying off my cards each month.. until I see just how sad it makes my checking account.  #dolladollabillyall

-Assholes that decide to pull over IN THE MEDIAN to get ticketed make me irate.  I bet if you just slowed down after you noticed the cop behind you with their lights on and put on your hazards or signal that you were going to turn, they'd probably follow you to a safer place, even if it's a mile down the road.  ANNNNDDD I bet if you decided to pull over in a safer location where the cop doesn't have an 95% chance of getting hit by a car, your rate of getting an actual ticket over a warning would probably decrease significantly.  I don't KNOW these things, but I'd guess these things to be true because that's how I'd operate if I was a cop.  Additionally, you wouldn't back up rush hour traffic with your doucheary, Douche.  #safetyfirst

-I often get behind on reading my blog subscriptions and when I read something in Feedly, I open the blog up in a new tab to comment on it.  If I see the post has more than 15 comments, I question the value of my comment (unless it's super funny), but often leave a comment anyways.  When I see 50+ comments, I'm like yeah, nope, not gonna bother.  #nopenopenope

-Having 50+ comments on a post would blow my mind and I'd probably get annoyed at all the emails (which I get each time someone comments, YAY!) after about 15-20.  I think the most comments a post of my ever received was 20 and that was back when Kathy hosted Humpday Confessions.  This kinda makes me glad I'm not a big time blogger.  #smallbutmighty

-I can barely contain my excitement about going to Greyhounds in Gettysburg (GIG).  I've been obnoxiously worried about how I'm going to fit 2 humans, 3 dogs (1 who REALLY likes his space, 1 who is petrified of life, and 1 who refuses to sleep), assorted dog items (beds, food, 1 crate, baby gate, etc), a suitcase for the humans, and whatever else may need to be transported into Yurtle.  I bit the bullet yesterday morning and called the Kia place and asked about cross bars for Yurtle and scheduled to have them installed today at 1130.  I also picked up a waterproof cargo bag from Walmart yesterday afternoon.  Now instead of worrying how it all will fit, I will just put it ON Yurtle and be done.  And I'll have a roof rack for next time so Phil and Meri won't be crowded, which makes this dog-mama rest easier.  #IlovemySUV #almostsoccermomstatus #GIG2015

-2 of the ladies at work that I want to be friends with noticed that I walked in with a Buffalo Wild Wings (BWW) cup yesterday after lunch and they were like, "You didn't invite us?!"  I admitted that I had to invite myself the first time and that they should too.  #strongindependentblackwoman

-I keep telling myself that I'm going to go back and read everyone's book reviews for the linkup, but I have yet to have time.  I did totally clean out my feedly on Monday though.  For those of you who recieved comments from me on your posts that were "old," you're welcome.  Anything older than 10 days, I didn't bother unless it was a really good comment.  #bloggerproblems

-I get it from Teh Dad and everyone in my family knows it... I am the WORST person to have to deal with when it comes to pending trips that I'm in charge of (I'm an excellent traveler once we leave the house).  I was an absolute terror last night.  About 95% of that was because when Mr. Scrooge got home after 6pm and suggested he go on a ride "since I won't get to ride for a while."  (direct quote, no shit, to which I responded, "It's FOUR days!")  I was so angry that I told him to go.  The night before a trip and he decides to do whatever the fuck he wants instead of helping me pack/prep things?  I might have tried to slay him with my eye glare.  He asked me if I was mad at him and I told him that if he was keeping me awake after 10pm because he was packing or fucking around, THEN I would be pissed.  Then I couldn't get the shower head off to put the new shower head on that I just bought, I finally gave up so I didn't strip it, which meant I definitely wasn't giving the dogs a bath (which had been Mr. Scrooge's idea anyways).  I got as much ready as I could.  Today will be the kicker getting everything into the cargo bag on Yurtle... I'm already not looking forward to it.  Oh yeah, he was definitely still up fucking around after 10pm and when I realized he was just checking his FB the rage seeped out of me via very strong peer pressure to the effect of, "BABE it will be there tomorrow!"  "Just turn off the damn light if you're going to spend all fucking night reading FB."  I'm super pleasant when I'm tired.  #oldladystatus

-Xero peed on me yesterday night when I picked him up to bring him to the bathroom for bathtime (which Mr. Scrooge did execute).  I didn't care because I was ragey at all the things.  #blindingrageisreal

-I cleaned the bedroom carpet last night at midnight and again at almost 5am.  I felt totally validated for being an asshole at bedtime.  Both times were because one of the asshole dogs shit in the floor.  The first time was driblets.. the 2nd time was 2 big piles and a little pile.  Mr. Scrooge offered to clean it the 2nd time, which meant I had to teach him how to use the carpet cleaner at 5am.  He did pretty good except for the part where he lifted the entire machine and instead of locking the bottom piece to be at a 90 degree angle of the handle, he just let it flop and shit water went all over everything.  There wasn't any cuteness that could be determined at that moment to save him.  I just sat and looked at him in horror.  I still can't actually believe he did it.  Soon after that, I took over the 5am session. #poopsplosions #ilovecleaningthecarpet #saidnooneever

-Meeting another blogger in real life and not getting murdered was every bit as awesome as I wanted it to be.  Thanks Lara!  #NotEveryoneIsASerialKiller  #paranoid

-When my friends and I comment almost the same thing on a mutual FB friend's status, I just wanna be like great minds think alike high five!  #ilovehighfives

-After I post this, I'm vowing to be in a better mood.  Nothing like a cleansing confessions session to get things off my mind and give me the power to move on.  #mindovermatter

Humpday Confessions #19

I ain't even playin' this week...

Vodka and Soda

Confessions:

-After 12 years of my name being spelled incorrectly with my NC bank, I finally got it fixed and it was super easy.  It's been giving me a complex and setting me in an irrational rage since I first discovered it years ago.

-The first email in my inbox when I got back from vacation was my approved terminal leave chit.  It was hard for me to not to stand up and do the excited dance.  You are welcome, coworkers, for my restraint.

-I was over the ice bucket challenge a week before it became popular.  I know I'm heartless, but your social media attempts to support a cause aren't really supporting anything unless you're actually donating the money when you do the challenge.  I've seen the statistics that the ALS foundation has raised a butt-ton of monies this year, the influx mostly being from the challenge, but still.  Bah humbug.  Although the fail videos are priceless.

-I've started feeling guilty for having appointments to take care of things since I'm so close to terminal leave, but Meri really needed to get her hairs did and Yurtle's tire light was really making me crazy.

-Last Wednesday when I got in Yurtle and started driving to work, my brain felt a peace that it had been missing for 2 weeks.  I probably shouldn't love my material items as much as I do, but I really love Yurtle, she's so good to me.  And I officially owe under $10k on her, WOOT!

-I find the little comments on the poptarts wrappers amusing.

-S'mores poptarts are the best.  They are best toasted, but sometimes that isn't an option and they are still delicious.

-Seeing emails that praise my work skillz (and they even put it with a 'z' not an 's') and lament my departure from the navy make my freakin' week.

-I will miss being so good at my job.  Obviously I will get good at whatever job I have next, but that learning curve can be very frustrating and daunting for me to get past.

-When people request to work with me specifically on an issue, a part of me hates it because I have to do work that is sometimes difficult, but another part of me loves it because I'm the person that knows what's what.

-I absolutely loathe the song Rude by Magic!  Yet I can't stop singing it after I hear it, even if it's just a few seconds.  I hate myself.

-There is one person on base that when he calls me, my day gets infinitely worse.  I'd rather process foreign national visit requests and deal with Stars coming to visit all day long than talk to this man once a month.  I've spoken to other individuals on base who also detest this individual.  And he has an obnoxious manner of speaking with this chuckle thing he does that makes me want to reach through the phone and strangle the life out of him.  /endrant.

-When people act like they aren't at fault for something when it is most definitely their fault, I get ragey.  I asked you for information in January and you decided I wasn't important enough so when you didn't provide the requested information and consequences were enacted 8 months later, you get pissed off and skip the chain of command to have your problem solved since it's going to affect your career, that would have been solved had you just responded to my initial request in January.  I have no sympathy for stupid bitches.

-If you're the asshole who only uses an account 2 times a year, every 6 months, and you know there's a deactivation time on the account of 60 days and you want to reactivate it every 6 months for a week, you're doing it wrong when you get irritated at the IT folks when it takes them "too long" to fix your account.  Just come sign in every 2 months and save a few people a lot of work.

-The best thing about summer is watermelon and cantaloupe from the farmer's market.  Period.

(source)

-I'm excited about having only a monthish left in MD, but I'm sad as well.  I already told Teh MD Adult Roomie that she needs an extra line on her work phone just for me to call when I'm having crises.

-Atheletes and actors are some of the more popular "models" for children, yet they aren't punished for their infractions when they do illegal things.  It was common knowledge that Robin Williams did drugs but how many times was he charged for it?  How many NFL/NBA/etc players have you heard of with drunk driving charges or drug charges that affected their life like it would a regular person?  DUIs get people fired in the real world, I don't understand why that doesn't apply in the "star" world.  There is plenty of talent in the world.

-I LOVE being able to make restaurant reservations online.  Holy moly, why can't every place have that?

-I have no shame, I will happily put earplugs (or foamies if you're in the navy/aviation community) in while sitting in the office if there are too many people in the space.

Humpday Confessions #7

I miss short weeks.  This 5 day work week is for the birds.  Ok, truth is, I didn't have to work yesterday because I had an endoscopy, but I don't consider that a beneficial trade-off.

Vodka and Soda
(link)

Confessions:

-I find it obnoxious that working out makes me less worried and less stressed and happier than anything else, even drinking.  Drinking is so much easier... and doesn't often require a shower (unless you're clumsy.. like me).

-The Ex-Fiance' could sing all the words to One Week by Barenaked Ladies.  I remain jealous of that ability to this day.

bahahah this is ridiculously funny to me.
(source)

-I read somewhere recently that using conditioner THEN shampooing makes your hair more bouncy cause you don't have product weighing it down.  I'm not sure if that's actually true, but I love ALL.THE.BUBBLES! when I use shampoo 2nd.

-Teh Sister has a memory of a steel trap and she's able to remember all these things from when she was SUPER little, like when she was 2 years old, and I'm pretty sure my first memory is from when I'm like 6 or something.  Which leads to my confession, and it's even related to the shampoo confession.  I used to tell Teh Sister that the conditioner was the shampoo and vice versa.  I thought I was "getting her."  Apparently, I was helping her out.  The joke is always on me.  She probably remembers me telling her that the bottle with the creamy stuff was shampoo and the runny stuff was the conditioner.  Steel trap.  I don't even get it.  Teh Mom only caught her once and she just thought she was taking a long time in the bath tub so she kinda got in trouble for taking too long (at least as much trouble as the favorite kid gets into).  HA!  Small victories, people, small victories.

-The McDonald's driveway on base is on the same street as the gym.  I judge the shit out of all the people who pull into McDonald's rather than go straight for the gym.  Especially people who get in the really long line at the drive-thru knowing that its going to take about 30 minutes to get through rather than just go inside.  I'm a judging judger.

(source)

-I usually arrive at the gym around 12:30ish.  I went to the gym at 11:30 one day last week and it's a completely different crowd.  I was in the weight room a little after noon and OMG all the freakin' people.  I'd rather hang out with the old people crowd a little after 1.  No one obviously stares me down, everyone wipes down their machine, every.single.time (TYVM!), there is no rush if I'm on a machine they want to use since there are lots of other free machines, and I don't feel like I don't meet the standards of the other gym goers...  Old people at the gym rock (and make me feel better about myself).

-Dear lady at the gym with your hair cascading down your back in the tank top and size negative 1 yoga pants, zero beads of sweat anywhere on your body, and perfect makeup in the weight room.  GET THE EFF OUT.  No, just get out.  I'm not staring at you, I'm glaring at you.  This isn't jealousy, it's hatred.  You're probably the lady who goes on runs along the side of the street and doesn't put your long hair back in a ponytail.  WHO DOES THAT?

(source)

-I finally started catching up on Downton Abbey (SPOILER ALERT) this past week and I watched the episode where Anna was raped/attacked.  Even when I've been fine for a long while, sometimes, it's still too soon.  It just sneaks up me and I question everything about that night and I always have to remind myself, I was asleep/potentially blacked out drunk (or at least drunk) and shock determined my reaction.  I didn't ask for it, I didn't approve it, and I was too confused to fight it at first.  Essentially, I have to tell myself, "YOU are not at fault."

This was my "asking for it" outfit.
I didn't smile like that for a long time after that night.

-I hate when it's me, not you/them.  As in, for the entire day people have been really annoying and the dogs have been obnoxious and little things that normally don't bother me are infuriating.. and it's me.  #PMSisreal

-I found these in my gif searches and I had to share them here because Loki Tom Hiddleston is my man crush.

Why can't I be here, sans that eye shadow?
(source)

(source)

-I think I'm getting the hang of this gif thing down.  #WINNING #Ilovegifs  Except that I spend more time finding gifs than I do writing the post.  #firstworldproblems

This is me about everyone else's gifs:

-I had an endoscopy done yesterday and I took a selfie when I came to.  I have no shame, Gentle Readers, no shame AT ALL.  Also, to the RN who prepped me, you should get better at your job.  You seemed to have minimal responsibilities.  You bring patients in from the waiting room, ask them questions that they've already answered (and some they haven't), you take their blood pressure and weight, and prep them for their procedure, to include starting an IV.  These don't seem like such hefty responsibilities to me, but I'm going to assess that most of the patients haven't eaten in at least 12 hours, which could result in some hangar (which we know I often suffer from).  So really my advice would be: smile more, pretend like your job isn't herding cattle (which is how I definitely felt), if you're going to "numb" the area where you are planning on inserting an IV, numb THAT area, not somewhere else, because that's definitely what you did to me.  When I say, "OUCH!  That hurts, I definitely felt that."  You should exhibit at least a meager amount of sympathy since you are the one poking me with sharp objects.  When I saw this nurse before and after my procedure she looked at me like I was ruining her day.  I dare them to send me a survey asking my opinion about the services.  PS.  I can't even wait for the huge ass bruise to pop up on the back of my hand.

I even tried to smile around the bite guard.
