Confessions {3/30}

-96 hour pay periods are good and bad.  Yay for extra days to work extra long hours for half days on Friday.  Boo for averaging the pay during those periods.  #salarylife #Ilovemyjob

-FB creating their own map site is stupid.  It's called Here, which is stupid.  Why can't they just pay Google a little bit so I wouldn't have to do it on my own?  #integrate

-Willie Jewells (aka my favorite bbq place) shows up under the education section of my USAA budgeting thing because the full name is Willie Jewel's Old School BBQ.  Good job USAA and technology on accuracy.  #justkidding  #allinaname

-Websites should be available 24/7.  That's the thing about the internet, it's always available.  So for your site to not be accessible certain times is fucking stupid.  No I don't care if I'm trying to access your site on a Sunday morning at 3am.  Get your fucking shit together and learn to do business in 2016.  #WTF

^^This shit is unacceptable.
Also unacceptable: These hours are NOT posted anywhere on the sign in screen or anywhere in big fat red letters during those outage times.  The worst part?  This is a website used by my mortgage company for me to view/sign documents.. Wait, the absolute worst part?  Resetting my password no less than 10 different times, probably using all my good password combinations and rendering useless for the next 2 months when I can't remember my password and have to do password resets... again.

-Regarding all those password resets: I actually had my password correct the very first time I reset it, but since I didn't realize the fucking site was down, I figured I'd forgotten my password so I reset it.  #TOOMUCHRAGE #PMSisfanningtheflames

-I felt like an absolute heathen for not even considering going to church on Easter.

-I am 95% certain that PMS amplified all my problems with everything ever this weekend.  That said, maybe bitches shouldn't piss me off.

-It's not insomnia when someone comes home at 0230 (after leaving at 9pm for a beer or two) and rouses the dogs then makes it quietly into bed, only to wake you up again with their twitching.  #Ishouldhavemedicated #earplugswerenotenough

-I was going to write another review for the book challenge, but I'm halfway through my last book and I figured it wasn't necessary.  Then I reconsidered so I could do a bonus round listing.  #wellseewhathappens  #Iwontfinishthebonusround

-I checked the time in Sydney before messaging Erin to update her on my challenge.  #timezonewoes

-I am generally a messy eater.  I had chicken salad on pumpernickel bread for lunch 2 days this week and it was like bathing in it.  #slob

-I taught Teh German that when he is dropping of a lady somewhere, to wait on them to get in their building/start their car before pulling away.  #strengthinnumbers #ladycode

-I kinda felt like I was at Pax Romana cheering for the hockey players fighting at the Stingrays game on Tuesday night.  #keepinitclassy

-All week I've struggled with what day it is, which is why these are being posted late and with minimal no gifs.

Weekend Review {3/28}

It was overall a very good weekend.  We had some bumps in the road on Sunday, but we survived.

FRIDAY

Since Teh German was off on Friday, I flexed my hours to be off at noon.  Teh German was super awesome and got up and cleaned off Mike and Suzi and rode to Metto and grabbed a peppermint mocha freeze for me from Metto and he delivered it to me at work.  #bestboyfriendever  While we was waiting on me to get off work, he went around the area where I work and took some photos with his bike.  We ended up meeting at EVO for lunch, then heading home so I could drop off Yurtle and get on Mike.

There was a 50% chance of rain, so rather than ride somewhere far out, I wanted to stay semi-local in case it did start raining.  Obviously, I'm still not over the fact that someone wanted to lane split with me.  We picked House as our destination since we hadn't seen some pretty big changes that went down this week.

L to R: Master bathroom, stairs with walls AND banisters.
They poured the driveway and sidewalk, View from the guest room.

HOUSE!  We have a garage door!
Selfies on the stairs, Teh German being weird and licking me.

Since it wasn't raining when we were done inspecting all the changes at House, I wanted to do something else but wasn't sure what.  I figured it out quickly when we passed Velocity Air Sports on the way home.  Teh German and I had discussed going to the trampoline place several times, but I told him it would have to be after my Princess run because I didn't want to hurt myself.  Well, no time like the present.  I was leading and I randomly pulled over to turn to do a u-turn and Teh German followed.  We were listening to music instead of chatting over bluetooth and he didn't switch over, so I didn't explain what we were doing.  I knew he'd figure it out when we got to Velocity.  He did.

When we went inside, I went straight to the waiver/registration computers and Teh German started hemming and hawing about how he wasn't dressed correctly and he wasn't sure if he wanted to jump right now, blah blah blah.. To the point that I canceled my registration and gathered up my helmet and went back outside and started getting ready to get back on Mike, obviously disappointed.

Secret about Teh Megan: I don't often do spontaneity.  Yes, I surprise people, but rarely do I do spontaneous activities.  Everything is usually planned.
Another secret about Teh Megan: If you shut me down on something once, I won't do it again.  As in, if Teh German had said no to jumping, I wouldn't have ever suggested it again.

Teh German could tell I was pissed/disappointed that he was refusing to jump because he wasn't wearing the right clothes (we were in jeans since we were riding and he "needed" to be in gym clothes) and he ended up saying ok fine, let's do it.

Honestly, I didn't want to anymore.  It was kinda ruined for me because I was trying to do something spontaneous and fun and he had said no for a stupid reason like clothes.  But I did it anyways, because Teh German had had a shit week and really I was just trying to cheer him up by going to the trampoline place and also, I wanted to jump since I'd never done it before.  I sucked it up and put on a happy face and we jumped and broke a sweat and it was fun and I'd do it again.

Wanna know what sucks?  My shitty ass bladder that thinks because it's bouncing up and down that it needs to expel itself all over me.  No, Bladder, calm yo tits.  That makes jumping on trampolines a little less fun, honestly, but I survived and I didn't pee on myself.

After our hour of jumping, we headed home and relaxed.  I asked Teh German if he wanted to clean the cars and he said he was tired.  I ended up napping on the couch because I was also tired.  Oops.  I woke up when Teh SC Greyhound Neighbor stopped by to say hi with Edie (her GH) and Molly (her neighbor's dog who the entire neighborhood feels sorry for because the owner doesn't really interact with the dog than feeding her and she's all alone in the yard 24/7).  After all the dogs had played and worn themselves out, they went home and I made dinner for Teh German and I.

chicken thighs in some random marinade I had in the fridge, ramen with an egg, and steamed peppers
(lesson: saute peppers, don't steam them)

After dinner, we laid in bed and watched Trainwreck (finally.  If you don't remember, I bought this movie in January for Teh Sister's "bachelorette thing" that never went down).  I did actually think to myself that I'd miss laying in bed, but I won't miss it more than I love House (which will not have a TV in the bedroom).

SATURDAY

Originally, we had planned to head down to Folly Beach for a food truck rodeo, but the weather cock-blocked us.  Boo, hiss.  Instead, we gathered the German gang and headed to Boxcar Betty's for lunch and then to the aquarium downtown.

We we were able to get parked with ease since the aquarium has a parking garage nearby.  Except that right as we parked, the rain really started coming down in buckets.  There were 5 people and 1 tiny umbrella.  We waited out the worst of it and powered through the drops when it died down.

Top to bottom:
Waiting out the rain
The Girls!
Silly selfies with Teh German and a photobombing friend.

Our first stop was at the stingray/shark tank where we were able to pet the critters.  Teh German was super pumped about touching/petting a shark.

Sharkie doing his laps, stingrays, and Germans waiting to touch sea critters.

Every opportunity to be silly was had.  German Photobomber even did the hurricane tunnel with me for $2.  Apparently, I would survive a 30 second hurricane.

Of course we had to reenact Jack and Rose.  I had to be reminded of the actual Titanic pose... and then well, things got adulty when I was bent over laughing.

Teh German Girl got stuck..

Getting to touch smaller stingrays

On a Safari

Made me think of bad joke eel.
AND it looks like it's eating that fish in the background.  #WIN

Starfishies!

This was the closest I'd been to sea creatures since GTMO when I'd dive.  I was super excited to see if the starfish would attach to my hand like they did when we would dive in GTMO, but it was mostly disappointing.  The Germans got to feel the starfish try to attach to them, so that was cool.

I lurve jelly fishies.. when they are contained and can't sting me.
There was a colored light in this tank so you could change the color of the jellies.

The giggles could not be repressed after I saw this gem.

Lion fish ain't lyin'.. also they kill coral reefs.  Boo hiss!

I was super pumped to crawl into the cage with the lemur.

But when it actually jumped on top of the people bubble?
I almost lost my mind with excitement!

Never going to pass up an opportunity to get another angle of my favorite Bridge.

Albino croc/alligator, I can't remember which.
Yes, there is a difference.

Dere's a critter in dere.

This otter was doing laps in his tanks and I wanted to get a photo of him pushing off the wall, but he was too fast for Dorothy.  Lesson: Always bring the DSLR when going downtown.

Probably one of my new favorite views of my favorite bridge.

Squid heads!

I'ma give another shout out to #bestboyfriendever.  He put up with my selfies and shennanigans with almost zero complaint.  I think at one point he might have said, "Another selfie?" but that was it.  If you know me in real life, you might agree that sometimes I can be a bit overwhelming.  This was one of those times.  Really though, I was super excited to go to the aquarium and I enjoyed being silly.  I enjoyed seeing how excited Teh German was to get to touch a shark or a stingray.  We also became members of the aquarium and now we can go see 4D movies for free and go see the fishies anytime we want.

We dropped off the Germans at their apartments and then headed home for the evening.  This was where things started to get bumpy.  Teh German Girls decided they would come over for dinner and games.  We all pitched in with the cooking and I made kielbasa (I've learned you can never go wrong serving Germans any type of sausage) and sauteed peppers (because I seriously needed to use those peppers) and spatzle, a type of German noodle.  Around 8:30, Teh German said that he was going out to get A beer with German Photobomber at 9.  I immediately was not a fan, because truthfully, I know that a beer leads to another beer and another and another and a gin and tonic then another gin and tonic and however many gin and tonics later, I've got a drunk Teh German on my hands.

Let me say for the record, I don't care if he goes out and drinks, but I do care if he goes out for a beer and it becomes a night of drinking.  I was ok with the entire situation until I received a text that said, "I'm not drunk but have had too much to drive home, so we're going to get a cab," and then there was a status update on FB about gin and tonics, at which point I knew it wasn't just a beer (or two).

When Teh German Girls decided to leave at midnight after we finished a full game of Phase 10, in addition to the Mexican Dominoes we'd started playing after Teh German left, we texted the guys and asked them if they wanted us to come pick them and their cars up.  One said no and Teh German didn't answer my text so I called him and he refused the offer and said they'd get a cab.  Again, he insisted that he wasn't drunk.  Based on his speech and things he said, he was drunk... and an asshole.

I was pretty irritated at the situation because that meant we'd have to go fetch a car on Sunday and I had wanted to vacuum/clean the cars on Sunday morning since we hadn't done it Saturday morning and his car wouldn't be at home.  I stayed up finishing a book challenge book and then finally fell asleep around 0130.

At 0230, the dogs woke me up because Teh German was home.  At 0300, Teh German woke me up when he got in bed.  At 0330, Teh German started twitching (which happens when he's drunk) and I couldn't go back to sleep, so I moved to the guest room.  At 0400 when I couldn't go back to sleep, I got up and finally responded to all Teh Blog comments that I'd been unable to respond to and tried to figure out some House stuffs and did my German lessons and caught up on blog and was generally angry and restless.  Around 0700, I finally fell asleep.

SUNDAY

Around 10/11 I woke up from my nap.  I was still irritated and didn't even want to go into the bedroom so much that I looked in my donate clothes basket for shorts/pants to put on so I could clean Yurtle.  Nothing, of course.  Instead, I had breakfast.  When I was done, I finally powered through the rage and went into the bedroom and grabbed shorts and flip flops and brushed my teeth in my bathroom before gathering up the vacuum and cleaning stuffs and headed outside.  I noticed that Teh German was awake and on his phone, but I didn't bother to say anything to him.  "If you can't say anything nice, say nothing at all," is a big thing in my life.

I went out and started cleaning Yurtle.  I put on an Easter concert for my neighbors with my blaring Jesus-y musics for 2 hours.  #notsorry  At one point, Teh German came out and apologized for fucking up, again (he'd been a dick during the week).  I shrugged at his apology and assumed that he might have still been drunk based on the smell of him and told him that I just didn't want him to have to have anything to apologize for.  He went back inside and I finished cleaning Yurtle.

When I was done with my concert cleaning, I went inside to shower and noticed Teh German had went back to bed.  I was super annoyed.  There were dishes in the sink, we still had to pick up his car, and someone/we/I needed to go to the grocery store/Walmart.  Ugh.  I called Teh German Girl and asked if she'd go with me to pick up Teh German's car so 1) I didn't have to deal with him, 2) I wouldn't have to go back out later in the evening when he did decide to rouse himself.  Thankfully, she agreed and we forded the streets of Charleston since it was raining and got his car back home.  I brought her back to her apartment and went by the grocery store.

While we'd been driving to find Teh German's car, Teh Granny had called me, but I was driving so I ignored the call.  When I was at the grocery store, I called her back and we chatted for about an hour while I was doing my shopping.  I hadn't spoken to her since November-ish and I highly suspect Teh Mom told Teh Granny to call me so I'd stop bitching about the fact that Teh Granny had dropped off the planet when she got a boyfriend last fall.  #goGranny

I got off the phone to check out and then made my way to Walmart to pick up dog peanut butter (sadly, Walmart is the only place that sells my bulk peanut butter that I get for the dogs in it's 6 lb container) and tea tree oil for my ear.  On my way to Walmart, Teh WJL called me.  She was on her way to Raleigh so she had ample time to listen to me bitch about #bestboyfriendever.  She talked to me all the way through Walmart and all the way home.  I got off the phone to take all the bags inside.

When I walked in, the dogs had been fed and the dishes were done.  Teh German was alive and smelling a little less like alcohol.  He helped me put away the groceries and I encouraged him to eat something, since he still hadn't eaten at 5:45.  I lured him into food by offering him my EVO leftovers.  #bestGIRLfriendever

His food made me hungry so I heated up leftovers for my dinner.  We didn't really talk much, but we sat together on the couch doing puzzles and listening to an audiobook until it was bedtime.

-------------------------------------------

Other than the Sunday bump, the weekend was great.  Teh German got a long weekend and we got to see that House is really starting to look like something we might be living in soon.  I didn't really want to talk about Sunday, but #realtalk is where it's at and sometimes, #bestboyfriendever isn't perfect, despite me wanting him to be, and his being almost perfect.  I think maybe some of my reaction was fulled by tiredness and maybe some PMS and a lot of valid anger.  I know we will work through it, despite all the dark places in my brain.

Also, I discovered the wisteria vine in the woods/mosquito breed pit beside shitty house is blooming!  Hopefully that will help mask the smell of poop in the backyard...  #wishfulthinking

Confessions {3/23}

-You don't realize how much your ears move until you pierce your inner ear cartridge.  #wigglemyears

-You don't realize how much moving your mouth effects your ears moving until you're chewing gum and your freshly pierced ear starts aching.  #piercedwoes

-I may or may not have purchased 3 different multi-packs of toothbrushes for Teh German because he goes through them so fast and he's so picky about which toothbrushes he does and doesn't like.  I told him I better not have to purchase more toothbrushes for him until we've been in House for at least a few months.  He has 10ish toothbrushes now.  #IwishIwaskidding

Not gonna lie, I just wanted to use this gif.

-I have realized the downside to shoe towers: If you have sand on any of the shoes, it gets in the shoes below them.  That said, I have sand in shoes that I know I didn't wear anywhere near the beach and it's getting on my nerves.  #sandisstupid #thebeachsucks #mountaingirl

-We are around the 60 days mark of House being ours. I love that my Gentle Readers are just as excited as we are about House.  #bestreadersever #WTF #itwasjustNovemberyesterday

-Mumford and Sons will be in Germany in May.. and then in Canada in June.. then in Germany AGAIN at the end of June... WTF?!?!  WHY DOES THE MUSIC WORLD NOT LOVE ME?!?!?!?! #noonelovesme #Ijustwanttojam

-The fact that FB puts how many times stuff in the trending section has been shared brings me great joy.. Mostly when the numbers are stupid low and obviously not "trending" at all.  #Facebooklies

-I seriously hate typing anything on my phone.  It's kind of a problem because it means that I often fail at responding to text messages....  T9 > Autocorrect.  #oldschool

-The bathroom at work has automatic lights that turn off if no one is in the room after a period of time.  I LOVE going to the bathroom and the lights turn on when I walk in.  1- I feel like a superstar.  2- No one is in my stall.  3- No poop smell.  #bathroomrules

-Took Meri to the vet on Monday evening because she had blood dripping from her butthole (which is normal given that she's had butt pee for the last week and a half.  Turns out, she has diarrhea, probably from switching foods, which is what I said when we walked in.  Teh German went with us to the vet because #bestboyfriendever and I admitted when we got home that sometimes, I didn't give the vet all the information to see if they came up with a different conclusion/solution than I did.  $128 dollars for them to tell me what I already knew and that "blood from the anus is normal in dogs that have diarrhea."  Noted.. because I'm sure Meri the Sensitive will have butt pee again at some point.  They were also kind enough to give me a $500 quote for blood testing and an x-ray if I wanted to investigate further.  #kthxnope  #furbabiesareexpensive

-Yesterday afternoon I told my computer to go ahead and install the OS update.. Yeah, poor life choice since it was going to take my computer 30+ minute to install and reboot and 5 minutes would pass before a minute would tick down.  This was an hour before I was supposed to leave work, so I just left work early.  #aintnobodygottimefordat #technologywoes

-The only differences I've noticed from my OS update are the fonts on the menus are different and the loading rainbow spinner changed.  #detailoriented

-Sometimes when I come into work in the morning, there is an obnoxious amount of space between the cars parked closest to the building.  There's almost enough room for another vehicle, but not quite and it's WAY more space than you'd need to swing your door all the way open.  I want to suggest lines in the parking lot, but the building manager is one of the worst violators!  #wtf #l2park

-For the last few weeks, we've been stalking travel sites looking for flights for Disneyland.  I'm realizing that "2 more seats left at this price!" and "Special Fare!" are really just place holders as there has been 2 more seats left at this price for the last 2 weeks and my special fare is always special, no matter the price.  #advertisingsecrets #becriticalofeverything

-Still no closing date on House.  The stress is high and I'm ready to get the $$ stuff going already!  I had to tell Teh German that if it's the bank's fault we don't close before Germany because I didn't get them paperwork fast enough, it will be a VERY long flight.  He didn't disagree.  #letsgetthisshowontheroadbitches #wheredidthetimego

Weekend Review {3/21}

Yooouuu guuuuyyysssssssss....  Short story: This weekend was fabulous!  Now let me tell you the long version.. mkkay?

 FRIDAY

I left work a little after 2 on Friday and went straight to the piercing parlor to get my ear did.  Actually, I detoured and went to visit House since I wasn't sure if I'd make it up over the weekend, then went to the piercing place.  We have WALLS!  I need to start repeating to myself that we might be living in House in TWO MONTHS.  That's 8 weeks.  That's like 60 days.  CRAAAZZZYYYY.

That's a panorama of downstairs.  I didn't get one of upstairs because it's pretty difficult.

I waited for a bit at the piercer because he was very thorough, which was good and bad.  Bad because I had to wait, good because he's good at his job.  My original desire was to get the daith and rook piercing together, but he said that he'd done that before and the movement of the ear and subsequent swelling prevented him from doing it as one again.  He suggested doing both piercings separate and then coming back in when they were healed up and he'd put a single bar bell in them.  He's the professional, so that's what we went with.

Honestly, I had amped myself up for way more pain than I actually experienced.  I had started to get a headache before I left work, but I think it was just the stress of the unknown.  I do not think a daith piercing solved the headache problem that quickly, or at all, but I'm going to research this and let you know.  I walked out of the shop super pleased with my life choice.  Even if it doesn't solve my headaches, it still looks cool.

After, I headed home, forgetting that I was supposed to go by the ticket office to pick up tickets for the hockey game on Saturday.  I had put off the vacuuming and it HAD to be done before Teh Advising Sister arrived and before we left for the evening, so I accomplished that task asap.  Teh German came home a little after 5 and we headed to the gym to show our support for those who were doing 16.4 (the 4th week of a crazy workout series some crossfitters are doing, I'm assuming 16 is for 2016?  Idk).  Also, we might have been motivated because they were going to Home Team BBQ after the workout AND there was the possibility of seeing someone doing 55 deadlifts at 226lbs unbroken.  If that was gibberish to you, it's ok, just keep reading, it's over now and you're safe.  Since the dogs had been in their crates all day, I opted to bring them with us since our gym is dog-friendly.

Others had brought their dogs as well!

My furbabies.

Meri and Ziggy the puppy playing.

Sadly, Meri kinda killed the dog vibe when she shit on the floor inside the gym.  Oops.  I cleaned it up as quickly as possible, completely mortified.  We changed to a fish food recently and I'm relearning why we don't eat fish based foods... again.  Otherwise, the dogs were perfect.  No barking (of course), loving on everyone.  Per the normal, Meri was more willing than Phil to lay down on the comforters we'd brought in.  Neither of them were obnoxious, have I mentioned they are my favorites?

It took a while to get everyone relocated to Home Team, but we finally made it.  Teh German and I ordered drinks and shared a side of potato salad since we were headed to Sesame when Teh Advising Sister made it to town.  Since we had arrived so late, we weren't able to stay and socialize for long.  In horrible friend fashion, Teh Advising Sister made it to shitty house before we did.  #Meganfail  It was actually a Teh German fail since we were trying to say goodbye to someone moving away from Charleston, but it worked out.  We got home and put the dogs in their crates and headed to Sesame for a super late dinner.

After dinner, we came back to shitty house and crashed into bed.

SATURDAY

Teh German had to work on Saturday morning, which meant a slow start for Teh Advising Sister and I.  I woke up with Teh German, but stayed in bed doing puzzles.  I also downloaded Outlander since it's on my TBR list and the audiobook is a mabillionty hours long, which is perfect for puzzles!  I got some Meri snuggles in and when Teh Advising Sister woke up, we got ready and headed out to Mount Pleasant to grab coffee at Metto.  We had originally intended on touring USS YORKTOWN, but after seeing the price, we nixed that idea.  Instead, Teh German met us at Graze and we had a delicious lunch, then we checked out Fleet Feet and Dolittles (a pet store), and finally we headed to the pier under the bridge (aka the first place where Teh German and I held hands) to chill for a bit.

Chicken and waffles, lobstah roll w/ fries, and the daily special

Dog store silliness.
Teh German was "gnawing" on my ear.

I was disappointed to learn that they had tethered the swings to a spring and now it's loud and noisy to swing.  Booooooo.  After a bit of swinging, Teh Advising Sister and I decided to go by Tanger so she could find new sunglasses and Teh German went home to hang out with the puppies.

Of course, I had a blast sunglasses shopping!  Teh Advising Sister did end up finding something she liked and despite the $120 price tag, she only paid $85.  BOOM, coupons, bitches.  I was pleased with her savings.

For both photos, Teh Advising Sister said, "No.  Please make it stop."  All the lolz.

Oh yeah, and I also went by H&M to try on this magical unicorn of a greyhound dress that the greyhound community has been amped up about.  It was a no go since it wasn't very flattering at all and the back was weird and my bra would show and that's a no for this girl.  Le siiigh.

After Tanger, we headed home and almost immediately headed back out to the coliseum since we were going to the Stingrays game.  I had asked our group to be there by 6-605 so we could get tickets, get inside, find our seats, acquire refreshments, and Teh German would get to see the puck drop, for once.  We were successful.

I may or may not have chased down the Papa John's pizza to take a photo.  I didn't expect to be greeted with a hug.  I couldn't tell if the person inside the pizza was another excited lady like me, or a creepy dude who just wanted to touch my boobs.. Either way, I'm glad someone else was excited as me.

Teh German Girls and I
We're really getting better at these silly selfies!

Our German friends also brought one of their neighbors, Father Robert.. oh yes, I hung out with a priest on Saturday night, while enjoying alcoholic beverages and talking shit to Teh German and being animated about a hockey game.  #welcometomylife  We were also joined by SC Greyhound Neighbor, which was awesome.

Even more awesome: WE ACTUALLY WON THE GAME!

After the game, SC Greyhound Neighbor, Teh Advising Sister, Teh German, and I headed to Thai Basil for dinner.  Instead of fighting for parking downtown, we just spent 6 extra minutes driving all the way to Mount Pleasant for the 2nd time that day.  It was totally worth it.  I was the only one who had been there before and everyone was super happy with their food.  Teh German and I shared the coconut soup and pad thai while Teh Advising Sister and SC Greyhound Neighbor shared coconut soup and an entree.  We were the last ones in the restaurant, so we tried to expedite our leaving after we finished our food.

After we dropped off SC Greyhound Neighbor at her car, we headed home and crashed in bed.

SUNDAY

We had agreed on doing brunch Sunday morning and we were in no hurry to get up after getting in bed so late Saturday night (we got home at midnight:30 and that's way past my old lady bedtime).  Teh Advising Sister decided on 5 Loaves for brunch (from the places I gave her to choose from).

Truthfully, 5 Loaves is not my favorite brunch place, I've finally come to this conclusion.  There is always a wait, the service is almost painfully slow, and the food doesn't always wow me.. oh yeah and they don't have a traditional breakfast option, you have to order a smattering of sides to get eggs, bacon, home fries, etc.  Seriously, why?  Except this time, it was worse than normal because I ordered the pumpkin pancakes and they came pretty much uncooked.  Yeah... and the kitchen manager said that they'd been having lots of issues with the pancakes that day.  Uh yeah.. because you probably should have just put them in a waffle maker so they would properly cook, but that's just my opinion.  They ended up bringing me something else (enchiladas) and comping both meals, which was good since Teh German had said if either was on the bill he was going to speak to someone.  We did see Teh SC Teacher and Teh SC German and his family there, so that was a highlight.

After brunch, we headed to House to show Teh Advising Sister.

It was kinda like a mud run....

After we left House, we headed to Metto for coffee.. again.  #yesitsthatgood

With coffee acquired, we made one last trip over the bridge (probably my last trip before the actual run on the 2nd) towards home.  Teh Advising Sister left soon after and I ended up taking a nap and accidentally standing up Twin Mom for getting our nails did.  #shittyfriend

I woke up when Teh German fed the beasts and stayed awake reading The Bonesetter's Daughter.  Teh German finally came in the bedroom around 7 to ask what was for dinner.  We had leftovers from all the restaurants we had been to all weekend for dinner.  Yay for leftover buffet, lol.  After eating, I finally started the laundry and got the dog's breakfast ready while Teh German took care of the dishes.  When the chores were finished, we laid in bed chilling, me doing a puzzle and Teh German perusing an endless social media stream.

Finally, it was bedtime, sadly ending an awesome weekend.

I was king of the CAH castle on Saturday evening.  Since Saturday was also Teh Dad's birthday, I gave him 1 of my 3 minutes to be king of the castle.

The rainbow should have been castle feed, but it wouldn't show up for me since I was on my phone.
Hopefully, Teh Dad actually got to see his castle.

But now it's Monday and this is what I've been dealing with all morning:

Thanks technology.
That screen shouldn't be static-y grey... but it is.
