Furniture Shopping Shenanigans

I'm not sure who it is who keeps saying, "She can't into that much trouble there..." but I always end up having this reaction:

And inevitably:

Teh MD Roomies are gonna need some furniture of their own in the near future and since there were lots of 4th of July sales, Teh MD Adult Roomie decided that would be a good weekend to decide on some furniture.  Of course, the challenge was issued.  I was told beforehand and I meant to bring my sleep mask to pretend to sleep in lots of beds, but I forgot.  Improvising occured.

There were only a few times that I thought I was going to get a stern "speakin' to" but it never ended up happening.  I'm not really that scary, but apparently I am?

Teh MD Teenage Roomie was my primary cohort and she helped me find different scenes.  Also featured are Teh MD Adult Roomie and Teh MD Roomie Sibling.

Havin' a little snooze, despite the fact that we were just getting warmed up.

These were the first thing we saw when we walked in the door.  WIN.

Teh MD Teenage Roomie and I snuggled.

Serious couch testing is happening right here.

This is what I look like when I'm daydreaming of not this chaise.

Vanity selfies.

She was SUPER pumped the chair spun.

Running my toes through the spaghetti noodles rug.

Just some light reading in this... interesting chair.

The leather throne.

This chair had electronic controls, she was hyped.

OMG check out all this storage space!

Couch testing.

Waiting selfies.

"Does he have any boogers?"

"Hang on, I'll get it for you." - Teh MD Teenage Roomie

I told her she was too big to climb up the ladder, but she still tested out the slide.

Some would say this chair is just my size...

I mean... pretty much.

I'm just as wild as this mini couch.

Teh MD Adult Roomie fits in the princess chair pretty good as well.

Selfies with the sleepy head.

Catching the zoom zoom instead of catching some Zzzzz's.

More serious couch testing

Just like at home!!
(These should look familiar).

Can you see me?

What about now?

Hiiiiii!!

I see you!!

Then I noticed this and realized this is the closest I've ever interacted with anything Duck Dynasty.

Selfies in the coffee table.

I deemed this the bumblebee chair.

She was being as weird as the chair.

We were simulating the appropriate animal for the print on the chair we sat in.

Rawrr

Takin' a break.

Her highness's throne (please note her scepter)

Bling cushions anyone?
Who buys this crap?

Just loungin' on the chaise.

"OMG TASSLES!!!  AND A LEATHER PILLOW!" - Teh MD Teenage Roomie
We found her highness's crown!

Drinkin' from the pitcher is way more adult.

YAY another spinny chair!!

She doesn't kiss frogs, she kisses piggies.
We're not gonna tell her how it works.

I just cuddle with the piggies.

Creeper Teh Megan is creepin.

I'd be creeped out if I saw this in my bushes.

Flower power?  Music power?  Burlap power?
Whatevs.

I gave Teh MD Adult Roomie flowers.
She loved them.
\
Teh MD Roomie Sibling was gonna take off with Jonah.

We obviously hit crazy hour based on this crazy face she's makin'.

So yeah.  That happened.

Weekend Wrap Up {7/7/14}

Having a long weekend was much needed, but it felt like it went by so fast!

Thursday

After finishing up work, I headed to the gym for a quick workout.  I arrived a little after 10 and OMG it was glorious.  There was practically no one in the gym.  When I finish my elliptical-ing 50 minutes later, I could tell it was 11 because the lunch crowd was starting to filter in.  This prohibited me from doing arms because I didn't want to have to deal with the competition for the machines and the nasty asses who don't wipe down their machines when they are finished.

I came home and showered and napped and played on the internet for the entire evening, being unproductive at absolutely anything.  I didn't even finish Friday's blog early I was so unproductive.  I did finish the rest of season 3 of Sherlock and was super disappointed that 3 of the episodes I thought were real episodes were really just casting crap.  I semi-watched them, but mostly they were on in the background as I wasted my life reading blogs and finding gifs and stalking FB and wishing someone would message me like the pathetic person I am.

Cause you see, I had been a smart ass early in the morning and I'm pretty sure I was getting the cold shoulder, which is super easy when you're 10,000 miles away with crappy comms.  Or I'm a selfish asshole who thinks everything is about me, either way, the one person I wanted to message me, didn't.  Karma for being a smart ass?  Check.

I did get some puppy time though.

Olive: If it sits, I fits.
This is a true testament to how small Greyhounds can really be.

Josie needed some lovin and she doesn't realize how big she is... and I'm not used to wide dogs on my lap.

Olive showed us what it's like to be a lady.

Philbo snuggled with his "other momma"

Friday

I got to sleep in on Friday morning and it was glorious.  I considered going on a run since my phone displayed a temperature lower than 70°F, but then I rolled over and decided that my bed was more comfortable than running shoes and sweaty clothes.  When I did finally rouse myself at 0830, it was for Marshmallow Fruit Loops (I wasn't even lying about that on Friday's post, Teh MD Adult Roomie asked me if I was serious about that, and when I pointed at my cereal bowl that was still sitting beside me when she read the post a bit later, she laughed) and to finish Friday's post.  The worst part was that I could barely come up with anything to blog about, mostly due to #5 on Friday's post.

I didn't get motivated until about 2.  At which point I finally showered and decided to be a productive member of society.  I helped Teh MD Roomies get ready for the River Concert by slicing up the watermelon that someone very graciously delivered to us from NC.  After feeding the beasts, we headed to St. Mary's College for the concert.  I was glad we went early because it filled up fast since they were doing fireworks after the concert.

The weather ended up being glorious.  OMG.  I can't even describe how perfect the weather was.  We were originally worried about storms from Hurricane Arthur, but as the day went on, the winds died down and the evening was beautiful.  Teh FL Greyhound Neighbors, a coworker, and other greyhound friends joined us for the evening and we did a picnic dinner.  We were all chatting so much I didn't even get to read Nook.

Because being inappropriate around really old people is my absolute favorite thing.
(PS.  I wasn't even close to drunk)

I think the fireworks were adjusted for the wind that was happening earlier in the evening because they were being shot off behind the treeline and we couldn't really see them.  It was ok though, fireworks were had.  I brought my camera and tripod to take photos, but wasn't set on that, which was good after we realized they were going off behind the trees.  When we arrived home, Miley was a mess because we had neighbors who were shooting off fireworks in the middle of our neighborhood.  I was NOT impressed.  I feel like if you live in any type of community where you have close neighbors, you should be considerate of that and NOT shoot off loudass fireworks, period.  Go to a public fireworks display, there are plenty to attend.  Or go find a field somewhere and set off your loud bangy things.  I'm such an old lady when it comes to community living.

Saturday

Saturday morning, I woke up and found the motivation that eluded me on Friday morning.  I rolled out of the bed and decided to go on a "short" run.  I'm not sure when 3.9 miles became a "short" run, but I'm pretty sure this means I might officially be a runner.  I still haven't bought one of those "water" belts (they are actually called hydration belts, but I'm gonna keep fighting it, like I do), but I'm on the look out for one that has a pocket that will fit Suzy2 (Galaxy S5) with an Otterbox case (which makes my enormous phone even larger).  The one we found on the Amazon is unavailable and it says they aren't sure if the item is coming back in stock.  Leee sighhhh.

A good morning for a run

halfway.

After my run, I came home and showered and Teh MD Roomies + Sibling and I headed to DC for furniture shopping.  Expect a post on that tomorrow because CHALLENGE ACCEPTED.  Let's just say there were photos taken of ridiculous things, in true Teh Megan style...  We got to go to Napoli's for lunch, which is my favorite pizza place in MD.  We came home in time to feed the pups and be lazy for the rest of the evening.  It was glorious just sitting still and watching Meri and Josie play most of the evening away.

Sunday

After church, Meri and I headed to SHUG HQ for Meri to get in some (actual) sibling time with one of her brothers who arrived in the US recently (who is currently available for adoption, hint hint).  Joey-Woey and his mom joined us at SHUG for some puppy play time and for me to get in my gateway Ibizian time before we both depart the area for bigger and better adventures.  Doggy playtime was an absolute blast and totally worth the 1.5 hour drive.

He's just as cute as he was in 2012.
Love him.

It's very rare that it's just Meri-Momma time.
Can we just talk about how adorable her bat ears are?
OMG /swoon.

For more doggy photos (and a video) check out Teh Doggies blog!
I came home and snuggled with pups, ate dinner, and hung out with Teh MD Roomies until bedtime.

I can haz more long weekend?  Plskthx.

Five on Friday #26

UNO

We have a guest this weekend and she brought the puppy!  Yes, it's definitely a full house, but it's totally awesome because Josie (the dog) plays with Meri.  There is even video evidence.

So it's more like wrestling, but not the point.  I love that they are wearing each other out.  When Olive and Meri play, we have to put Olive's muzzle on since she's a bit bite-y and they are fun, but Meri is intimidated by dogs bigger than her, so having Josie, who is her size, is really nice.

DOS

The motivation to get out of bed this morning was Marshmallow Fruit Loops and finishing this post.

TRES

So yeah, this Hurricane Arthur thing...  I'm ok with all the rain, but please don't rain out my River Concert and fireworks tonight!!

I need this in my life again.  Mmmkaaayy???

QUATRO

Can we just talk for a moment about how creepy accurate this is?

One of Teh MD Teenage Roomie's favorite stories about me is when we went to Red Robin before her Spring Dance and I had called on the way there and the hostess had said there was no wait.  It took us less than 10 minutes to get there by a God-performed miracle since we only had to stop at 2 of the mabillion red lights in SoMD, during rush hour, on a Friday....  When we arrived there was a 20 minute wait and the hostess was very apathetic to my needs to eat RIGHT THEN.  I knew that if we left, everywhere else was going to have a wait too, so we just waited it out.  OMG the rage.  Every.single.little thing was setting me off.  THEN we got one of the crappiest servers who didn't even acknowledge us sitting at her table for at least 10 minutes.  The manager must have seen my disparaged hangry rage face because he came over and asked if we had been helped yet.  He ended up bringing us our drinks and a basket of fries, which lessened the hangar considerably.  To the point that Teh MD Roomies noticed a difference in my entire being.

Having been back to Red Robin several times since then, I have come the conclusion that maybe that hostess has Resting Bitch Face and that she's also kind of a bitch.

This experience has definitely made me take my food schedule way more seriously that I was before.  Now I eat when I get hungry because there's an obvious difference between hangry Teh Megan and "normal" Teh Megan (quotation marks because I know you're all like, you'd consider yourself normal... really?  Be serious now).

CINCO

Another Teh Megan idiosyncrasy is that I sleep a lot when I'm stressed.  I realized this morning as I didn't want to get out of bed and go on a run, despite the fact that it's less than 75°F outside, that I've actually been sleeping quite a bit since I found out I'm going to Charleston.  I napped several days this week, I haven't wanted to get up in the mornings, I accomplish nothing productive in the evenings, I'm running to distract myself from all the stress that I'm dealing with (mostly due to communication issues and ya know, life upheaval), which isn't really working out because I have app problems or it's so hot I might die and it just feels like there is no real relief from this stress.  Even when I am sleeping, it's not good, restful sleeps.  I'm over it.  Sooooo over it.

Ok, and there's probably another reason I'm stressed...

Happy Holiday weekend (if that's applicable to your life)!

Humpday Confessions #11

Friday still feels so far away.

Vodka and Soda

Confessions:

-I have greyhound friends who talk about needing a xanax when their dogs go into for dentals.  This irritates the crap out of me.  I love my dog, but if I didn't trust my vet, I wouldn't take Phil.  For those friends who have "special needs" dogs, I kinda get it, but at the same time.. get over it.  I don't freak out when Phil and Meri have appointments (including if they have to be put under anesthesia) and I don't freak out about my own appointments where I have to have procedures done.  It only right AS the procedure is happening that I start to get a bit nervous, but otherwise, why worry?

-Drama llamas make me want to punch them in the face.  'Nuff said.

-I read this article about being a military spouse recently and while it was written in jest, it was that I'm-kidding-but-not-really tone.  I'm afraid it might be indicative of my future.  Also, it took me several years to figure out how to respond to people when they thanked me for my service, so now that people are thanking my boyfriend for his service and not me, in my head I'm all defensive, "What about me?!  I served, too, JERK!"  Then I realize it's not the same anymore.  #militarytransitionsarehard

-Usually around mile 3 of a run, the flies/insects start diving bombing me.  It's extremely irritating.

-People who require you to put in the captcha code to comment on their blog make me sad.  So much so, I almost don't leave a comment, except that I've already typed it up and all I have to do is type in the mostly illegible numbers.

-I recently learned some teenagerese.  Instead of whatever, they say, "swerve," and put their hands up, with thumbs together... apparently it's also an "emoji," whatever that is.  I just call them emoticons.  All these different names for the same thing overwhelm me.  So does teenagerese.

-I have always twisted the stem off my apples while saying the alphabet for each turn.. because inside of me is an 8 year old girl who might actually believe that the letter I am on when the stem comes off is the first letter of my future husband's first name.

-There's certain times I miss Bahrain...  like when I want mexican food delivered, or when I have to pick up my dry cleaning, or when I need delicious chocolate treats.

-"Hey, Beautiful," being the first thing said from someone 10,000 miles away, who I don't often get to hear on the phone, makes me get this super cheesy grin every time I think about it.

-Every time I take a bite of white meat chicken, I always get disappointed it's not dark meat.

-Gatorade is best served with liquor.  It's NOT best consumed after a long run since it makes my saliva thick and sticky and gross.  Sorry for that potential TMI.

-I'm excited about Charleston.  Unbearably excited.  But the worst part of transitioning is the upheaval of my entire life.  I know that it will all work out in the end, but finding a place to live, finding a job, writing a million point five resumes, getting my stuff packed out, the actual relocation time table, vacation before hand...  just all the things are making my brain go a million miles per hour in a million different directions at once.  It's annoying me, and it's definitely annoying other people.  I can't concentrate on a single subject for long periods of time and my conversations are all fragments over a span of subjects.  It's hard being me.
