Five on Friday #30
UNOThe cuteness of these dogs is just overwhelming. I can't even handle it. Yes, I know they have their own blog, but sometimes I like to
DOSI need a new pair of earbuds, but I've got an attachment to my current set because I DIY-ed them. Not only that, but I don't want to spend the money on new ones because decent earbuds aren't $5 at the Walmart checkout.
I paid $50 for those suckers.. then again, I paid that in Australia, so they are prob only $25 earbuds in America. #firstworldproblems fo' sho'.
TRESI can almost guarantee there won't be a blog next Friday because I'll have a VA appointment in the morning, then I'm immediately hitting the road to drive to Leesburg, VA to meet Ms. Motivator for our half marathon!!!!! I can't believe it's finally here.
I'm relieved and anxious at the same time. I'm excited to finally meet the goal I set for myself on RunKeeper and to no longer feel obligated to run 10+ miles. I'm happiest at 4-7 miles. (Self-reflection for a moment: WHAT THE FUCK DID I JUST SAY? I don't even know who I am anymore.)
|The face that says: ugh this is going to be miserable.|
QUATROI've been "networking" (ya know, the glorified term for having people you know talk to people they know to people they know about hiring you, aka whoring my resume out) and I've got my fingers crossed again. I've been putting in job applications since the end of July. I haven't gotten back rejection letters for all of them, so I consider that a good thing. I have received a few rejections, but I expected that. I'd really like to be employed by the end of October, but I fear I might be pushing the timeline too much since October is the beginning of the new fiscal year for the government, which is when companies get all their monies.
At what point do I just apply at Target?
CINCOI'm pretty hyped about my spontaneous trip to SC next week for VA appointments. It's going to be like a 2nd phase test period (yep, the world of navy acquisitions has officially permeated my life) of living together with a semi-normal schedule with Mr. Mystery. Granted, I won't be working, but I do have appointments all the days I am there. The only thing missing will be the pups, who are staying in MD.
I feel guilty that I'm leaving them for several reasons, I feel like I'm taking advantage of Teh MD Adult Roomie's generosity to keep them and because I'm deserting them, yet again, for travel. Although Teh MD Adult Roomie has reassured me neither of these things are the case, I still feel that way. She will also be watching the pups when I head up to PA at the end of the month to see The Original (Raleigh) Roomies and when I head to SC in October since Mr. Mystery and I are leaving a few days after my arrival to go on a cruise. I will be picking them up when we get back to move them to SC officially.
She says she is going to miss them when we leave, but I think she might be relieved a little bit, at first, at least. Then again, I miss Meri being adorable when I'm away for a day, so I get it. I'm definitely going to miss Olive grunts and groans and snuggles and her ability to catch food being thrown at her (even if she's got her eyes closed when you toss it, she's magical). She also does this pretty adorable sit that Phil just doesn't do, oh how I've tried.
Bonus: SEISYurtle and Suzy2.5 are officially fixed! No more tire pressure sensor light in Yurtle AND it was covered under warranty. Suzy 2 was replaced by Suzy2.5 and she is pretty and doesn't have a cracked camera and it's like having a brand new phone all over again. I lurve all the pretties!
Happy Friday, Gentle Readers.
Linking up with these ladies since it's FFFFRRRRRRIIIIIIDDDDAAAAYYYY!!!!!!!!!
