(Long) Weekend Review {11/30}

UPDATED WITH PHOTOS!!!

WEDNESDAY

After waking up at 4am and being unable to get back to sleep, I got out of bed and took care of my Confessions post and did some work.  Before Teh German's alarms went off, I crawled back in the bed for AM snuggles.  We had to be at the design center by 830, so we were pretty much on our normal weekday schedule.

Decision making wasn't as difficult as either of us anticipated.  The biggest debate we had was about a double or single sink (I wanted double, he wanted single) and then I realized that with a single sink, there is only one drain to worry about and it has the garbage disposal, so a single sink it was.

The colors aren't as brown as they look.
I couldn't get the color right because of all the weird lighting.

The most infuriating part of the process was when the home theater/security system/Smartbox guy came in to "not" sell us products.  He started the process with something about being at someone's house recently who was having a wifi issue because there were too many devices on the wifi.  The point of telling us this was to sell us the Smartbox (which we'd already opted to get), but when I said, "So did you log into the router and switch up the bands so everything wasn't on the same wifi band?"  I was completely ignored.  Credibility hit #1.

He then brought us over the to the display box and we were pretty pumped about the music player control from the walls.. we later learned the music controls were $1500, except that I had to point blank ask him and then tell him no we wouldn't be paying for that since the theater system we wanted ($2000) would require a receiver and we could just plug whatever we wanted to play into the receiver via an auxiliary cable since we were already paying for it.  Again, he refused to acknowledge that what I said was a valid option.  Credibility hit #2.

His final product was the home security system.  He started by asking if we had dogs, yes.  Then he said we needed a home security system because if there was ever a fire, the CO2 detectors would notify the fire department and they'd be able to save the dogs.  I didn't even have words.  I could have seen that going the complete other way, but no.  Really I couldn't get over the fact that he didn't want to talk about shady neighborhoods or builders in the area or not knowing our neighbors to talk us into the security system, nope.  It was about the dogs.  It was at this point that I decided that I was done with this moron and the sooner he got out from in front of me the better.

Before he finally left, he wanted to talk us into a behind the wall conduit for the cables for the TV and was actually making zero sense because of needing a subwoofer and a receiver and the Smartbox placement and I was fed up with him for not acknowledging me and for primarily speaking to Teh German instead of me, despite my obvious technical knowledge (I'm blaming the boobs really).  Teh German asked if we could get a sub and receiver through his company and it was all I could do not to be like, NOT HAPPENING.

We ended up going over budget and we probably would have been done early if the paperwork hadn't needed to be printed out 3 times.  The first time was the sales lady's fault, the 2nd time was everyone's fault because we added the fridge at the last minute, and the final time was my fault because I'm all, "We're already over-budget, what's $1000 more dollars for this and this?"

I've never been so excited to get out of "shopping" in my entire life.  We were both completely drained of all abilities and we'd went over budget and Teh German was worried about paying for it all and having money for closing, blah blah blah.  We went to Willie Jewell's (yes my 2nd time that week) for lunch and after we finished eating, we were slightly better.  We headed home after lunch to pack and load Yurtle and the pups and head to Fayettenam.

The worst part of the drive was getting out of Charleston.  Since it was a holiday, rush hour had started early and Charleston drivers are... there aren't words to accurately describe the horrendousness that is Charleston drivers.  We made it into town by 6ish.  We decided to go out grab food at a bar type place downtown (if you really want to see where, I checked in on Yelp), which just so happened to be doing last call 20 minutes after we arrived, and our server was taking FORRREVER to deliver the first round of beer.  We didn't realize they'd be closing early because it was the day before Thanksgiving.  Oops.

After dinner, we headed home and Teh German and Teh Utah Specialist hung out while Teh Sister and I worked on food for Thanksgiving.  Teh German and Teh Utah Specialist went to bed way before Teh Sister and I finally did, which was around 1.

Thanksgiving Tetris: Master Level

THURSDAY

The problem with the good idea of cooking Thanksgiving lunch is that it means you get up early and it's stupid.  Teh Sister and I got up at 6 to get the turkey in the oven and finish prepping the other foods.  We had chocolate pudding/pie filling for breakfast.  That's how you know it's officially Thanksgiving with Teh Family.

Me fisting stuffing the stuffing in the turkey

This guy made an appearance in the kitchen and we have no idea where he came from,
but we suspect my backpack since he appeared after I pulled out my computer.
He was quickly returned to the wild.
#AlwaysAnAdventureWithMeganAround

Everything was finally ready by 1230 (we had predicted noon).  Sadly, due to some technical difficulties, the video of Teh Sister making the turkey dance and other various prep photos are stuck on the SD card that was in Suzy2.5.  Teh German had asked me when we were packing what he should wear and I showed him my tshirt and jeans.  He packed a button down to wear.  Then we all spent the entire day in pajamas.  We keep it classy.  We didn't even shower all day.

Dat roasted toasted skin...

Teh Sister's first time cooking a turkey (ps she's a vegetarian),
so we had to get a photo of her with the "beautiful bird"

NOOOOOMMMMMM

Thanksgiving dinner selfie!
Best part of my day:
Snuggles with this handsome dude.

This was perfectly acceptable because right after we finished eating lunch, we all went and took a nap.  When we woke up, we had lemon and chocolate pie for dessert.  Teh Mom arrived around 7, at which point Teh Sister wanted to start trying wedding beverages.  She had seen the Disney alcoholic beverages lists on Pinterest and bartender sister was to make them (me) for her.  Instead of doing full beverages, I did the drinks as shots.  2 shots in, Teh Sister was getting louder.  3 shots in, Teh Sister was pretty much out of control and we had 4-6 more drinks to try and I was drinking the excess of what wouldn't fit in the shot glasses.

Post nap silliness

Phil celebrated Thanksgiving by getting to eat the turkey neck.
A decision I later came to regret when some of it ended up on my bedroom rug after we got back home.

Lesson(s) of the night: Teh Sister and Teh Mom are both lightweights.  I can, apparently, drink like Teh Dad/a fish.

After I had Teh Utah Specialist bring Teh Sister to bed, Teh German and I sat with Teh Mom and her friend and walked them through the floorplan of the new house.  Eventually, we were all exhausted and headed to bed.  Fortunately, we were still in our PJs.  #win

FRIDAY

There was nothing about me that wanted to get up on Friday morning, but the dogs were relentless.  Meri was incessant about watching the squirrels in the trees/yard so she kept knocking the vertical blinds and we both kept wanting to kill her and she was NOT staying in her bed.  Eventually, I got up and Teh Sister and Teh Mom were going shopping.  They would have waited on me to get ready (aka shower my stank away) but I was irritated they hadn't asked me.  I mean, I did bartend for them the night before!  Additionally, I had to work since I was teleworking.  I actually made negative process on the work front because I messed up the styles/headers in my document and was too frustrated to fix them.
Meri was super pumped to be able to have a huge yard to run and chase ALL THE SQUIRRELS in.
When she wasn't outside, she was looking out the front window, then she'd run to the back patio door to inspect her domain.

Aunt Teh Sister painted Phil's nail since he's such a good boy and lays so still.
#bestdogever

When Teh Mom and Teh Sister came back, Teh Mom made breakfast (homemade biscuits that I'd been wanting for a while), eggs, bacon, and gravy).  I probably could have eaten 2 more biscuits, but we ran out.  /sadface.  After breakfast Teh Mom and her friend left.  I decided it was finally time for a shower since I had told Teh Sister that we could go back out for Black Friday shopping to the places they didn't go, since they had only been to Walmart.

With everyone loaded up, we hit up Kohl's, Best Buy, and Target.  We had a break for luper (lunch/supper) at Which Wich (deeeelicious), and then I talked them into going by the Verizon store to see if they'd let me upgrade from Suzy2.5 (who no longer had a working speakerphone).  What I thought would be a 30 minute thing turned into an hour+ long ordeal.  But, I ended up getting an HTC One M9 and we ported Teh German onto my Verizon plan (sadly he had to get a new phone, so he got the 6S).  The lady that was helping us was very distracted.  She'd work with us for 10 minutes then go away for a while.  She'd pass us off to someone else, then come back.  It was weird and I didn't like it.  Then as we were almost done, she was all, "Here's your free tablet!"  We were like, uhh ok? and accepted it.  We walked out mostly satisfied.

HTC One M9 front camera was pretty good.

My phone wasn't charged at all so it was practically dead when we left the store and I was unable to mess with it until we got home and I attached myself to a wall charger.  #firstworldproblems.  Once I got plugged in and on the wifi, the phone wanted to run a mabillionty updates.  I wish I was exaggerating, but it took the phone over 6 hours to completely charge (granted, I was using it pretty steadily to change the settings, it was downloading systems updates, AND I had to call Verizon at one point to actually port Teh German's number over from T-Mobile, since the ADD sales lady hadn't actually done it) and the system updates took well into the night to finally complete.  During the evening I had been reading Galaxy S6 vs HTC M9 reviews and the S6 had come out on top.  I had debated getting the Galaxy when I was in the store, but I wanted something new and the S6 is pretty much the same as the S5, except it doesn't have an SD slot, which is why I ended up picking the HTC anyways.  That and I had seen Kathy's rave review of her HTC, so I was willing to give it a shot.

The evening was completely lazy.  We didn't really eat dinner/thanksgiving leftovers because we'd had sandwiches.  We ended up going to bed pretty early because we were all drained from the past 2 days.

SATURDAY

We got a slow start on Saturday morning, after the same AM debacle with Meri as Friday morning.  She's sooo, soo, soo cute.  Teh German and I had decided that we were heading back to Charleston on Saturday so we could have a day to recover and get ready for the week.  I was out of the bed before Teh German so I could put leftovers into bowls to bring back with us.  After I was finished, we got ready and I asked Teh Sister if they wanted to get lunch with us and they said yes.  We went back to Which Wich (and I even got the egg salad.. again) and the dogs stayed in the car.

Photographic evidence of Phil touching Meri.

I lurve my fuzzy face girl and my big boy.

After lunch, we headed back to Charleston.  I try to help keep Teh German entertained while he drives, but I had started reading Still Alice and I was super sucked in and didn't want to stop reading.  Except for when it got too sad.  When we got home, we unloaded the car, fed the beasts, and lounged on the couch for the evening.  After I finished reading, we had dinner (leftovers, finally).  Then it was time for bed.

Dangerous when you have my (lack of) will power over my favorite types of pie (chocolate and lemon).

SUNDAY

We stayed in bed until noonish when I finally told Teh German that I wanted/needed to get stuff done.  He hadn't really been feeling well since early in the week, so I gave him a pass at going to the grocery store with me.  Additionally, I had decided that I wasn't going to keep the HTC and I was going to pick up the S6 (like I should have just gotten to begin with) and after seeing that the Verizon lady had given me a "free" tablet that required you add a $10 a month line to your plan, wanted to return the tablet as well.  The Verizon rep I dealt with was nice and knowledgeable and NOT ADD.

It cost me $35 to return the tablet (a restocking fee), but I told him that $30 was still cheaper than the $220+tax that it would cost me to keep a tablet that I would never use.  Had she told me the tablet required a line, she would have kept her free tablet and I would have saved $30, but whatever.  Live and learn.  I was so overwhelmed at the Verizon store that I didn't even think to question it.  He clarified on insurance that she hadn't even asked about and he noticed that I had called in to port the number to the new line.  He also called the Fayettenam store to verify that the $60 credit that we'd been promised would get applied and made a note on the account.  Despite his hipster/Teh Bear look, I wanted to hug him a bit.

He did try to sell me the Droid Turbo 2, but I just couldn't sell myself on the Droid after the Droid 2 and Droid 4.  #thanksbutnothanks  I knew that the S6 would make me happy, so I went with it.  What I did NOT consider was that I wouldn't have the ability to get my photos off the SD card that was in Suzy2.5, thus rendering this post almost photoless.  I have a microSD adapter, but I can't find it, and the USB adapter that I have wasn't reading properly when the SD card was in.  #technologywoes

PS. My new phone is gold and it feels like #bling and it needs a name.

While I was at the Verizon store, a coworker messaged me asking if he could deliver boxes to the house and I told him yes.  When I left the Verizon store, I went to Publix since I knew the grocery store wouldn't take too long.  Another trip where I only shopped the perimeter of the store, with the exception of going down the tea aisle to pick up some tea for Teh German to help with his sore throat.  #win

When I got home, Coworker was there chatting with Teh German while the mosquitoes sucked him dry.  Eventually, Coworker headed home and we brought the groceries in.  I continued the laundry and put away the groceries.  Teh German had taken care of the dishes and moved the laundry for me, despite not feeling well, while I was out because he's the best.  After everything was put away and there was nothing really left to do, I started working on this post and realized there was an SD crisis.

It's super sad because there was video of Teh Sister making the turkey dance and first time selfies with the new HTC phone and selfies eating Thanksgiving dinner and other random stuff that would have been awesome to share with you.. but #technologyfail

Eventually, it was time for dinner and I gave Teh German the choice of Thanksgiving or frozen pizza and he (finally) chose the frozen pizza (that I've been offering as an alternative since September).  After dinner, we prepared for Monday and eventually headed to bed.

*******
It was a pretty great Thanksgiving and it was nice to get away and still have a day to recover.  I'm going to work on getting the SD card crisis solved in the near future because ALL THE PHOTOS!

We did commit to going to Home, Home for Christmas, but we haven't figured out the time line for that yet.  We have a month, I'm sure we'll figure it out soon enough.

This week/weekend holds lots of Crossfit (sooo much fooooooddd), work, and possibly getting a Christmas tree!!

Confessions {11/25}

-My body and I are in a constant struggle with each other.  I'm not sure why my body hates me, but it does.  I'm quite experienced in getting mouth/cold sores/upstairs herpaderp/whatever you want to call it.  What I'm NOT experienced in is getting the sores on my NOSE.  And by ON my nose, I mean at the end of my nostril/on the side of my nose/on the inside of my nostril.  But only on one side.  I took a photo to show Teh MD-AR and Teh Soccer Mom, but I'll spare you the grossness.  Let's just say, Teh German and I have had to switch up our kissing style because our normal arrangement has his facial hairs scratching my nose and it makes me want to cry a lot.  It hurts to touch it, so short pokey hairs are intolerable.  At least my body decided to wait until AFTER the stressful event to react... WHAT??  #thisiswhatstresslookslike

-If I were to ever want to meet an actor based on what they do in their real life, I'd want to meet Gary Sinise (aka LT Dan from Forrest Gump).  He is such a huge military supporter and does amazing work with wounded warriors.  #supportthetroops

-I know I told you about the awkward exchange with my manager on Friday, but don't take that the wrong way.  The guy is just misunderstood but he's got good intentions.. but sometimes, they just don't get accurately expressed... and sometimes he comes across as a creepy uncle.  But this is the same guy who said, WHEN you start working here, during my interview instead of IF you start working here.  Also, I know what it's like to be constantly misunderstood.  #kindredspirits #Imkindofacreepertoo

-I told Teh German that he should start putting German words in our conversations.  Instead of beer, we say Bier, or habe instead of have (that was actually an autocorrect, but it worked out).  #multilanguageconversations #Germglish

-TL;DR: I had series of 3-4 nightmares on Sunday night and Monday sucked ass.  There was no amount of trying to redirect my brain that worked to stop the nightmares.  I even tried snuggling close to Teh German.  Nothing worked and they continued all.night.longgggg(uh).

In one, I was trying to find a sex trafficking ring in the woods after finding a woman with her face completed messed up walking along the side of the road looking for help and then they started hunting me since it was in the middle of the night and I had no light and was all alone.

In another, I was in Bahrain looking for a terrorist cell who actually look me captive.  They went through my wallet and couldn't find anything and then they brought me in the same room and demanded I give them my CAC (military ID) so they could make fakes.  I explained to them that all I had was my contractor CAC, but they didn't care.  They also signed "John Wilkes Booth" on the backs of the copies they made like a check.  It was weird.  Then they released me and I decided I need to tell the princess that we needed to leave the country since it wasn't safe.  At which point, her security team instructed us not to leave the location we were at since it wasn't safe.  We were able to leave later in the day, and the next day I came back to talk to her and the same thing happened.  Except this time we were in a room with some children and the terrorist cell had found me again.  That was when I noticed that the fake IDs were signed John Wilkes Booth.  It was like they thought that meant John Doe.  It was confusing, especially since I woke up in the middle of the dreams and the 2nd part was like a prequel to the first dream.

The final dream, it was like I was one of my (male) cousins instead of myself.  I was leaving to go on business and my brother and his wife showed up to visit my wife/girlfriend/significant other.  At which point, my significant other slept with my brother.  When I came home, she felt guilty and admitted it to me.  Finally an alarm went off which meant it was time to wake up and for these horrible dreams to end.

I had another nightmare on Monday night and now I can't remember what it was.  #amI8again

-We ate out the entire weekend and I have all the guilt.  #betterfoodchoicesshouldbemade #butwedidntgotothegrocerystore

-I was glad my meal was comped on Sunday when we went to brunch, even though I didn't expect her to take it off the check since I ate it.  #SoHungryIdRiskFoodPoisoning

-I wish there was a way to stop receiving promotional emails after you purchased someone's product.  For instance, I signed up for the 2016 Bridge Run the day registration opened (of course).  At least once a month, I get an email reminding me to sign up for the Bridge Run before prices go up.  #Igaveyoumydollarsalready #leavemealone

-Sometimes, I wish I had more website creation/integration knowledge.  For instance, I am the blog coordinator for Phil's greyhound group in MD.  I am also an admin on the FB page.  I noticed that the website doesn't have Twitter or Facebook buttons on it!  #thehorror #theshame

-I totally "abused" my admin privileges and posted a long "USE SOCIAL MEDIA!" post with a photo of Phil.  #notsorry  #movember

Do you follow us on Instagram?
You should.

-Someone told my coworker that he shouldn't adopt a greyhound because he has small children because greyhounds have "thin skin that tears easily."  SERIOUSLY?  I want to punch that person in the face.  There's never been a moment that I've been worried about my Hulk strength ripping Phil's skin.  Would I worry about a toddler ripping Phil's skin open?  No, never.  #fearmongers

-I totally went to Crossfit on Monday and Tuesday (where I did a running workout and the WOD) because I know I'm going to be a complete glutton this week/end. #thanksgiving #EATALLTHENOMS

-Today was another one of those days where I woke up at 4am and couldn't go back to sleep.  I laid in bed for an hour snuggling Teh German (so he'd stop spazzing in his sleep mostly) and kept thinking that I could be finishing this post.  #Igaveintothebloggingpressure #yourewelcome

-I share more clothes with Teh German than I have shared with anyone else.  Teh Sister doesn't count so much because we never really borrowed each other's clothes as much as passed clothes back and forth after we'd get tired of wearing them.  Mostly sweatshirts, but we've added warm/sleeping/cozy socks to that list recently.  #Idontknowifthatscuteornot

-I miss some of the clothes I wore in high school.  I wish I hadn't gotten rid of them.  Looking at you v-neck magenta shirt with the fray on the sleeves that I totally could pull off way better now.  #betterwithage

-There are a few neighborhood children who play on my street and they have those mini motorcycle bike things.  I want to 1- hit them with my car when they are careening down the street paying no mind whatsoever to their surroundings, 2- see them crash, 3- ask their parents why they believe that 5pm on a weekday is a good time to let their children play in the street.  #getoffmygrass

-Sleeping with the heating pad makes my Crossfit soreness and woes slightly better.  #Ijustneedtobeabletomovetomorrow

-I'm the worst at holiday themed blogging.  It's not like I didn't know that Thanksgiving was going to be this week and I could have made these confessions about how much I love stuffing and hate cranberry sauce (even though I put a little on my plate each year in hopes that something will have changed), but instead, Wednesday is my day to rant and that cannot be overridden by holiday joy/themes.  #ButtStuffingIsTheBestStuffing

-Today is the interior design appointment for New House.  Cabinets and flooring and granite, oh my.  #thisisprobablywhyIcantsleep

-I fell going up the stairs yesterday and 2 people saw me.  #CrossfitIsWhyIHaveNoPride #toomanylunges #ouchmyass

-Almost all of the times I'm fallen on the stairs, I've fallen UP.  I've fallen DOWN the stairs twice that I can recall and both of those were in MD.  The first time I ever fell up the stairs, I was giving Teh Sister a piggyback ride and tripped on concrete outside stairs and scratched up the side of my face very badly.  #thereishomevideoevidenceofthis  #thisiswhyImnotcalledGrace

-Meri's belly rumbles VERY loudly starting around 4am every morning.  It has actually woken me up before.  #goatdogproblems

-Sometimes my Wednesday Confessions Hashtags bleed into other posts.  #oops

Training for Tuesday #6

alyssagoesbang

Upcoming events:

18-21 February 2016: Glass Slipper Challenge weekend + 5k in Orlando, FL (Disney World)
12 March 2016: Rugged Maniac 5k Obstacle Course in Mount Pleasant, SC
02 April 2016: Cooper River Bridge Run in Charleston, SC

November Goals:

-Get serious about GSC training
-Keep on my Crossfit game, keep adding the weight.
-Roll/stretch more or possibly implement more yoga into my life.
-Avoid gluten products (bread/pasta) to lessen the joint popping/aching problems (yay for self-awareness).  Stuffing is an exception.
-Don't get hurt.
-Try out the trampoline place.
-Total time of less than 2 hours for my 1/2 marathon. Probably not gonna happen, but it will be a goal until I accomplish it.

Accomplishments:

~I've been running on the weekends post 1/2 marathon, which is on the GSC schedule.  10 points for Gryffindor Megan.

~I took a Crossfit break the week before the half because Teh MD-AR was in town and because all the house things and to not hurt myself pre-race, and getting back into it has royally sucked.  Since I don't have any races on the close horizon, I'm hitting Crossfit hard because I need to have my complete sexy on by January for Teh Sister's wedding.  #gameon  Also, I missed half of the Endurance (running) Club meets because HOUSE.  I dislike this greatly since I paid $80 on top of the $130 I pay monthly.  #dollarswasted

~I didn't do yoga, but the coaches have been doing a lot more mobility during class time, which has been horrible and wonderful at the same time.  In addition to my extra rolling sessions at home, I'm pleased with how easy it is to move around and the Chiro could tell a difference when I didn't roll, so it looks like I'll be on a consistent rolling schedule for a while.

I'm on the right in my awesome bandanna and my Sparkle skirt!
Teh German is directly across from me.
#couplesthatworkouttogetherstaytogether?

~I didn't go out of my way to avoid gluten, but I didn't go out of my way to eat it either.  I consider this a neutral point.

~I survived another month with no crazy injuries.  The Chiro said that I pulled muscles in my inner thigh area during the 1/2, but I can't really feel it, so there's that.  The prescription is more rolling it out (which looks like I'm humping the floor since I'm rolling on a tennis ball (much to Meri's torture)).

~Trampoline place pushed to December.  Maybe they'll run a special?

~My half time was 2:16:54.  Not the 2 hours I was hoping for, but I'm not complaining since there was a significant lack of training going on pre-race.  Teh MD-AR and I didn't run it together since she was suffering from some serious shin splints and she swore she'd come in right around 3 hours, but at 2:30ish we crossed/recrossed the finish line (I hobbled/ran from where Teh German and I were waiting on her to around the the finish line (so I didn't mess up the timing chip thingy)).  See my review of the Sweet Tea Half Marathon here (I have no idea why someone would think that review was funny).  This was a great flat run if you're interested in something like that.  It's also capped at 800 people, which is nice so you don't feel like you're always in someone's way or you're going to get trampled over... andddd it makes for way better finish line photos since you're not crossing with 5 other people (who may or may not have that horrible grimace on their face).  I'd show you new photos, but the photographer STILL doesn't have the photos posted.  /facepalm

December Goals:

-Seriously, moar GSC training.

-Don't get hurt.  I could probably stop putting this on here, since it's a pretty consistent goal, but I'm afraid to jinx myself with less than 100 days till Princess Weekend and the influx of using a barbell/weights means the possibility of hurting myself is higher.  #justbeingrealisitic
-Try out the trampoline place.
-Enjoy all the foods and holiday gatherings.  #noguilt #noshame #ALLTHENOMS #thisiswhyIworkout
-Stay under 150lbs.  If I managed to fall under 140 with all my eating, I'll be super impressed with myself (I'm planning on some serious Crossfitting between now and Jan 16th).  I'm not counting on it, but I'm liking being under 150... even if it means I have to wear a belt (which means it takes longer to pee).
-Get these pulled muscles in my thighs straightened out and not exasperate the issues. #rollinrollinrollinrawhide
? Bridge run?  We'll see how it fits into the schedule.

Wanna be friends on RunKeeper and stalk each other?  Yes, please.

Weekend Review {11/23}

FRIDAY

I stayed at work for 8 whole hours on Friday and I almost died.  Just kidding.  Not really.  I'm trying to get in hours now so I can flex on Wednesday before Thanksgiving since we're headed to Fayettenam.  I came home and waited on Teh German to come home so we could go to Crossfit.  We'd already decided earlier in the day that after Crossfit we were going to go to Sesame for dinner (because "Sweet potatoes fries!!!" -The German).  We had invited Teh German's friends to go with us and they had been willing earlier in the afternoon, but at 6:30 we got a text suggesting somewhere else and I vetoed the idea because I can't ever find anything to eat on the menu that isn't spicy.  They then decided they were too tired to leave their house.  Yeah, I got a bit ragey about it.  How about you just be honest and say, "Sorry but we really don't feel like driving the 20 minutes to your house to go to dinner with you when we can just drive to a place that is 10 minutes from our house."  #honestabe  I was annoyed for a while, but got over it after I was fed.  #theirloss

We also went and checked on my dress to see if it was done yet since the lady had said it would be done on Friday, but she couldn't find it in the shop.  Uhhh, cool?  Not.  She even remembered that we had went to Sesame last week, which made us all laugh.  #notsorry.  She told me to call on Saturday and see the status.  Uhh, how about you call me?  What kind of business are you running here?  Le siiiiigh.  We also went by Target and I found the most awesome Christmas shirt that I just want to wear right now all the time.  After dinner, we headed to JCPenny to pick up a bow tie for Teh German since we were attending a dress up party on Saturday night.

After we were done spending money, we headed home and hung out in bed, Teh German watching videos and me reading You.  We were totally asleep before 10:30.  #90yearolds

Teh German looked over at me when I turned to this page and nonchalantly said,
"That's how old you're gonna be in a few months," then just went right back to watching his video.
Thanks, Boyfran.

SATURDAY

Teh German had to work on Saturday morning and I wanted to get in a run.  Buuttt, I also wanted to finish reading You, which I totally did.  Then I went on my run.

How Saturday morning looked.
Please note the dent in the cushion on the couch behind me from Meri.

Saw this while I was running.  Cool.

After I got home from a 4.5ish miles, I decided to be motivated and take the dogs on a quick walk, right as Teh German came home from work.  After I got back and showered, we headed out to the Charleston Chili Cookoff for "lunch."  We pretty much ate chili samples until we were full and we OWNED the photobooth.  Also, they had Not Your Father's Root Beer, or whatever it's called, which was great for this non-beer/wine drinker!

After we had walked around enough and they had announced that the Citadel had beat USC ((football) which was the 2nd time ever, we were walking around on the Citadel football field, so it was kinda awesome), we left and headed home to take a, very much needed, nap.  Our nap ran a little long because we really didn't want to get out of the bed.  Eventually, we got up, got our dress up on, and headed out.  We went by Total Wine to pick up a host gift and beer just in case (I had brought a bottle of rum just in case as well).  We stopped by Hometeam BBQ for dinner since they were only serving light finger foods, which is where we went on our first date.

I decided it was my 2nd favorite BBQ in Charleston, after Willie Jewell's.  Not recovering from a bout of food poisoning definitely improved the quality of the food.  The reason Hometeam is #2 is because I don't like their sauces as much as Willie Jewell's.  In fact, I don't like any of the sauces at Hometeam, but the pulled pork is delicious, so it can be eaten naked, which is ok with me.

After dinner, we headed to the dress up party.  We got our drink on and socialized until a little before 1, when it was finally time to head home.  Teh German didn't have as much to drink as me, so he was able to drive us home, rather than having to use Uber.

Drunk Megan was on her game again and took a benedryl so I could sleep through the night.

Thanks for the mascara/eye liner, Drunk Megan.
This seriously makes me giggle every time I look at it.

SUNDAY

We got to sleep in on Sunday morning and it was glorious.  The dogs woke us up around 7 for breakfast, and Post-Drunk Megan always gets up early, so despite having asked Teh German to feed the dogs the night before, I got up and did it.  After the dog business was taken care of, I went back to bed.  When Teh German and I finally got serious about getting out of the bed, it was after 10:30.  By the time we actually got out of bed, it was more like noon.  GLOOORRRRIIIOOOUSSSSSSSS.

We decided to have brunch at Red Drum Restaurant because I really wanted one of their biscuits.  Before we got out of bed, I made an OpenTable reservation because the time I had been before, it was super slammed.  We got up and got ready and headed out.  When we arrived, our table was ready, which was awesome.  Despite how foodgasmic the biscuit was, the rest of my experience was on the poor end of the scale.  I ordered huevos rancheros (because I'm full of surprises when it comes to food, not) and when they arrived, there was soooo much runny white stuff in my eggs that I actually sent it back.  When the server brought it out the 2nd time, there was still runny white stuff, but not as much, so I just dealt with it since I didn't want to be the person that send something back to the kitchen twice.  I've seen Waiting and I've been a server, once is too many times.  The other part of the poor experience was that we didn't really get refills, which was extremely bad for me because my food was spicier than I had anticipated... and I was semi-dehydrated from all the rinky-rinky the night before.  In defense of the server, she did have my meal comped from the bill and didn't charge us for Teh German's coffee of my sweet tea, so I told Teh German to leave her an awesome tip.  She didn't have to have the food comped, so I give her credit for that.

A biscuit from this place will change your life.  Trust me.

After brunch, we headed back home to pick up Yurtle and head to Mud-Pit/Future House to check out or lot in the daylight, which Teh German hadn't seen before.

I wish they'd change the sign to sold.  But don't worry, I'll show you when they do, lol.

We have a mailbox!!
It doesn't actually have a nose, but it does have the street number. #OPSEC

This photo is from up the street near the community pool.
Our house will be behind the green house/under the red arrow.
There will also be houses all the way around the pond.

After spending some time at our lot (OUR lot.  Yes, that's a big deal still), we headed to the Closet to finish moving all Teh German's stuff into my house.  We were able to get Yurtle and Teh German's car loaded up completely in about 2 hours, so not too bad to disassemble the bed and package up the TV and sound bar for transport, and put everything in the vehicles.  I got the privilege of getting to drive Yurtle with a mattress and box spring tied down to the roof rack.  Talk about a good time.  Not.  The tie down to hold the front of the mattresses down was latched inside Yurtle.  Anytime I exceeded 45mph, the sound of a thousand angry hornets took over my car (it was actually the wind against the tie down).

We made it home with zero issues and unloaded the cars within 20 minutes.  So fast compared to loading it!  That said, we're definitely hiring movers for next summer.  Nothing about moving my tempurpedic mattress excites me, no matter how much Crossfit I do between now and then.  Additionally, if we have visitors at Teh Ville prior to moving into the new house, they will have to sleep on an air mattress in the living room, because the dining room and guest room have been taken over as storage areas.  #nomadlife

The closet doors are closed because it's equally cluttered with my crap in there...

After getting everything inside and getting the dogs fed, we headed back out to Publix to grab a few things for dinner for the short week.  Teh German suggested getting Kickin' Chicken for dinner and since we were able to order online while standing in the grocery store, we did that instead of having to fix something when we got home.  #pleasedontjudgeus  We picked up dinner after leaving the grocery store and headed home.

After putting away the groceries, eating dinner, and taking care of the daily chores (dishes, refilling peanut butter kongs, reloading Phil and Meri's pill containers, prepping dog breakfast, finishing up the laundry (and ignoring all the dirty bed linens that Teh German delivered today)), we laid in bed being lazy, Teh German watching motovloger videos (which made me want to choke a baby and put in earplugs) and me writing this post.

That means this post was actually written on Sunday night instead of Monday morning.  SOOOOO much focus!

It was a great "lazy" weekend.  Next weekend we'll be between Charleston and Fayetteville and while I'm looking forward to it, I'm mostly looking forward to NO alarm clock for so many days!

Happy short week for those of you that, that applies to.
If not, have a good week anyways!
