US Botanical Garden

A few weekends ago, I went with Teh FL Greyhound Neighbors to DC to do some museums.  Rather than having to pay to go to the Newseum, we decided to exercise our allergies and hit up the Botanical Garden near the National Mall instead.  I didn't bring my DSLR since I wasn't planning on taking photos at the museums, cause I stopped doing that so I could actually enjoy the museums.  But I couldn't help it.  The flowers and plants and cacti and trees were amazing.

I was that lady walking around with my cell phone taking macro shots.  #sorrynotsorry...
Next time I'll bring my DSLR and be like the grumpy pants who was set up with his tripod.

On to the pretty photos!

pretty, pretty fountains when you walk in

Teh MD Adut Roomie: That looks like a pineapple.
Teh Megan: That's because it is a pineapple!

Size reference.

I think these fly traps were defective.  They wouldn't close when I was trying to trick them.
Or maybe they are really smart fly traps...

Welcome to the jungle, we got fun and games...

Beehives on the roof!

Ombre flower is current with the trends.

It was a gorgeous day.

I will miss DC being so close.

Buzz buzz buzz goes the honeybee

Not so bad for a phone camera...

Do you wanna build a snowman?

Tree balls

I was glad these were outside.  While pretty, lilies are the devil to my allergies.

  1. So pretty! I'll definitely have to visit the gardens if I am ever back in DC!
